Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Aloo, Basmati Plain Rice, Garlic Naan
    Monica A.

The food here is great, delicious & authentic. I am so happy I have found this place & so close to my home. I placed a pick up order and service was quick & had no issues. Restaurant is small but with plenty of seating and clean. The chicken tikka masala was full of flavor and served with just the right amount of chicken. I also ordered the saag aloo that was delicious as well. Both dishes I ordered were with a medium spice level that was just perfect for me since I enjoy spicy foods. Garlic naan was on point and devour it all. Will definitely continue coming here & recommend everyone to give the food a try.

They forgot my raita and the naan bread was burnt. The butter chicken and tikka masala looked and tasted exactly alike. What was I expecting at 10 pm on a Monday night? Well, they did get the non spicy part down but everything else was questionable like what is actually in the saag aloo? It definitely was NOT spinach. It was super oily and had zero flavor and was kind of scary looking. I'm sorry but this does NOT live up to the great reviews. Waiting for a response from the restaurant.

Solid Indian food in southern Orange County. Stopped by with friends after a leisurely drive down PCH and visiting a few beaches nearby. We ordered lime waters and Laccha parathas with two varieties of chicken curries - Achari and Vindaloo. Accompanied by rice and Veg Biryani, this made for a very satisfying meal. Total bill was a little over $100 after tax and tip. Parking was easy and bathrooms were clean. Service was adequate. Happy to return.

Paneer Tikka Masala ($20) and Chicken Makhani/Butter Chicken ($20) - Very good

It had been a while since AR and I had some good Indian cuisine, so when she found Chaska India on Yelp with a solid 4.7 Star rating, it was an easy decision. The name itself sets high expectations - "Chaska" means craving or addictive taste in Hindi/Urdu, and the restaurant translates that into "The irresistible taste of India." Challenge accepted! We stopped by on a late Saturday afternoon, around 1:30 p.m. The place wasn't too busy - just two other tables occupied by Indian families, which in my book is always a very good sign (thumbs up). I'll admit, I'm no expert in Indian cuisine; AR definitely knows her way around a spice rack better than I do. Our order: Mango Lassi ($5) Masala Chai ($4) Chicken Makhani (Butter Chicken) ($20) Goat Chettinad ($22) Paneer Tikka Masala ($20) Chana Saag ($19) Chili Garlic Naan ($5) Samosas (2) ($8) Total (with tip): $140 Service was friendly and attentive. During our meal, our server brought over a complimentary sample of their Masala Pasta - pasta tossed in a tikka masala sauce with herbs and spices. It was surprisingly good! To top it off, we were treated to a small bowl of mango pudding for dessert, which was a sweet finish to the meal. Overall, the food was very good, with generous portions and a nice variety of flavors across the dishes. One thing to note - when you ask for "hot," they take it seriously. The dishes we ordered at that spice level definitely delivered, spicy good! IMO, prices are on the higher side, but then again, what isn't these days? That said, I was very surprised to see a $5 charge for naan, especially given the already steep menu prices. Most Indian restaurants include some bread with the entrées, but here it's à la carte - kind of like an Asian restaurant charging extra for white rice. All in all, while the meal was enjoyable, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Dropping $140 on a late lunch isn't something I plan to make a habit of, especially with so many other Indian restaurants in South OC still waiting to be explored. If you're craving bold Indian flavors in South OC, Chaska India lives up to its name - tasty enough to get you hooked. - Big Aloha! Rating: 3.5 Stars (Rounding up) Food: 4 Ambiance: 3 Service: 4 Value: 3

My first time at this place, and was very impressed although I didn't get a full meal the one I got was very delicious and they took the time to make it spicy as in their menu is not advertised, my drink was delicious, I will back for a full meal.

Chicken tikka masal, chicken saag, pakora, garlic naan

Really loved the lunch special options. Clearly a lot of love and care put into the food. Our favorite parts of the meal: *Chicken was so tender and juicy, both white and dark meat. *Garlic naan was perfectly airy but also crispy, and seasoned perfectly. *Pakora light, crispy, moist on the inside. Not too greasy, not overly battered. We wish we would've asked about the spice levels of our food, because neither the tikka masala or the saag were spicy at all - still flavorful and delicious, but we think we would've preferred more of a kick. The restaurant was open, modern, clean. Chef Nell was very kind and helpful. We'll definitely be back.

Butter chicken, spinach paneer, samosas, garlic naan, and basmati rice

Delicious, flavorful, authentic food. Very attentive and friendly staff who even gave us a free dessert at the end of our meal. Clean and spacious restaurant with plenty to offer. I'm so happy I tried them out while in town-- I'll definitely be back again.

When you go to an Indian restaurant and the majority of the customers are local Indians you know you are on to something. The service was great, parking easy. Simple decorations but it's all about the food. I'll definitely return!

    Chicken samosas accompanied with sauces.

Love this little Indian gem in shopping center with Albertson's. We had Chicken Samosa, Butter Chicken and Spicy Garlic Naan. We also had a glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay and Taj Mahal beer. Both great!

    Pakora & Samosa

Tried the Samosas, Pakora and Butter Chicken. All were flavorful and so great! We will be back soon!

I'd driven past it plenty of times on the way to the dog groomer and never once felt compelled to stop. Friday night changed that. We were hungry, but not sit-down-for-two-hours hungry. We wanted something better than fast food, but not some overproduced evening of cocktails and self-importance. We wanted food worth getting out of the car for. Rangeen hit that mark beautifully. Getting my wife on board took some work. She's not a curry person. But a few online photos of fresh, vibrant salads were enough to win her over. Inside, the place still showed traces of whatever came before it, a blank quick-serve menu screen hanging awkwardly over the counter, like a relic from another life. But this was table service, and a perfectly comfortable one at that. There were maybe eight or nine tables, and one lone server holding down the front of house. Casual, older, thin, moving with purpose. She greeted us warmly, dropped menus, answered the phone, checked back often, kept the table tidy, and somehow managed to make the whole room feel cared for without a hint of drama. I went for the spicy mango chicken. My wife chose a healthy-looking salad with grilled sweet potatoes, nuts, and all the things I generally avoid unless someone smarter than me orders them first. We added naan, because not ordering naan would have been foolish. The food took a few minutes longer than the impatient part of your brain might expect. But then it arrived, and suddenly none of that mattered. My dish was excellent: nicely seasoned bite-sized pieces of chicken, rice, a fresh side salad, and a spicy sauce that pulled the whole thing together with real intention. And the plating, that was the surprise. This wasn't tossed on a plate like an afterthought from the spot next to the grocery store. It looked like someone actually gave a damn. And that, really, is what stays with you. Not just that the food was good, but that care had gone into it. The ingredients may not have been expensive, I say that as someone who owns restaurants and knows roughly what things cost, but value isn't about raw food cost. It's about what arrives at the table, how it's presented, and whether anybody in the building seems to care if you enjoy it. At $19, this was a steal. For about the price of a drive-thru burger meal, I got something thoughtful, well executed, and satisfying enough to remind me why local places like this matter. And to the party of four next to us who only left a five-dollar tip: do better.

I'd rather call it an experience. My family and I predominantly enjoyed the desert selections. They were all nicely done - creative, tasty and light. One detail I loved was the screen playing old-school Indian movies in the background. It adds a layer of nostalgia to the experience that's hard to describe, almost like the feeling you get watching classic black-and-white films. The food does take a little while to come out, but it's absolutely worth the wait. Service is friendly. Samosa Chaat (9/10) - An explosion of flavours. I loved that they leave larger chunks of samosa throughout the dish instead of turning it into one giant mashed potato bowl. Great texture and balance. Dahi Puri (8/10) - Refreshing, slightly spicy, sweet, and savuory all at once. Plus, it's a fun dish to eat. Lamb Curry (7.5/10) - The meat was tender and the curry itself was rich and flavuorful. Butter Chicken (8.5/10) - Packed with flavor and hands down the best butter chicken I've had in Orange County. My only complaint is that the portion wasn't bigger. I ran out of butter chicken before I finished my naan

However this time I thought I would try something different. So I ordered online with Mint. All the pictures and reviews were decent so why not? Well I should've stuck with my OG's because this was not it. I ordered x2 buttered chicken that was in a very small container (see photo attached) for $20 EACH! Garlic Naan that was $5, Mango Lassi also $5 and Gelato. First, if you guys are paying $20 for a small tiny container of butter chicken in LH please please do yourself a favor and go try Southern Spice. Their flavors are mouthwatering and the portion is huge. I understand inflation but this is ridiculous and the flavor is blah. It's like there is no spices in there at all just butter and tomato sauce AND the kicker...no rice! Super weird to me that they do not automatically give you rice! Like who just orders butter chicken or any Indian,Chinese, Korean dish for that matter without rice! I mean rice has to cost you guys a pretty small fraction no? Just give people 1/2c of rice! If not, at least you should make note of that on your menu so people know ahead of ordering. The garlic Naan is decent really no complaints there, the Mango Lassi they gave me was the size of a kiddy cup (see photo) Literally a child's sippy cup is bigger than what I received for $5 insane! And just to make matters worse, when I opened by bag they placed my gelato directly on top of the hot food! So when I took it out, it had completely melted. $10 for melted pistachio creamy soup, just what I wanted. You guys have to do better for your customers. I get the price increases but for what you are giving and the immense amount of lack of flavors...is wild. Save your money, drive a little bit further and eat some true Indian food in Irvine/Tustin cause this place is not it. The pictures posted are truly beautiful but pictures are not everything especially when it comes to food quality and flavor. I am only giving two stars bc the Mango Lassi and Garlic Naan were decent tasting.
