Mint-Skin's (actually located inside Jean Claude Salon) proximity to hip restaurants, including the Hash House a Go Go, could be one reason to go there. But the real reason is Diana Harrison. Although she gave me just a mini facial, I found myself more relaxed than I've ever been after some hour-plus long facials I've experienced. The room in which Diana performed the treatment was very warm, relaxing, and clean with smells that awakened the senses. Diana is very skilled at working the facial muscles. She even threw in a very pleasant foot massage towards the end. I look forward to my next treatment with Mint Skin -- of course, it will be a much longer session. I have a really bad habit of waiting until the last minute to schedule appointments so in staying true to form, I contacted Diana Harrison for a Brazilian wax two days before my trip to Cabo. Given the nature of the service, this will probably be TMI... I had shaved about a week and a half before my waxing which didn't give her much to work with, if you know what I mean! But, being the insistent person that I am, I assured her this would be no problem. I showed up to find Diana's space very calming, and most importantly, clean. When she assessed the "work surface" she wasn't certain that she'd be able to remove all the hair, but said she'd try her best. It took a couple pulls to get the hair off in each area but sure enough, she did a fantastic job and I was nice and hair-free for my trip! It turned out that we also have some friends in common. Diana is a miracle worker!!! I have always went to her to tint/ wax my brows and my lashes because I trust no one else. However, last year I started to get very interested in skincare and facials. I had come up with my own skincare routine and thought I was doing what I was supposed to. In October I scheduled an appointment for my first facial a hydra facial with derma-planing. Diana made me as comfortable as possible and taught me so much about what my skin requires. I am finally off my poison products (not actual poison just wrong products for my skin lol) and my skin has never looked better. I went back for a second facial in December and I don't plan on stopping. I am loving my glowing results. So I purchased a Reader City deal for a lash curl. I have long lashes but alas, they do not curl on their own and I was sooooo tired of curling them every time I applied mascara. Diana is excellent at explaining the process and is fun to talk to in general. The process is weird where you have rods glued to your lashes but the downtime in allowing it to set is relaxing. Music of your choice and dimmed lights are a +. I haven't tried any of her facials yet, but plan on doing so soon since winter wrecks havoc on my face. I purchased two Brazilian wax services (from one of those discount Groupon like sites) after reading the too good to be true Yelp reviews. I had some issue with my initial online bookings, but I received a call from Diana, and she was able to accommodate my request. Facility is located inside of a salon that services hair and permanent tattoos. Nice atmosphere. I was greeted promptly and told Diana would be with me shortly, and she was. I'm pretty much open with my "business" with these types of services so I was not shy when it was time for Diana to do her duties. But even if I was shy, Diana would have put me to ease. We talked about so many things in the time it took for my service (which was fairly quick) you would have thought we known each other for ever. My first experience, I did find some flaws later that night. They were nothing that I would have complained about, but I took notice. My second experience, everything was perfect. Clean as a whistle. I HATE that everyone gave her 5 stars and I didn't. I like Diana a lot, and both times, we vibed so well. But I can only give 4 stars because my first time had a few flaws. I can't say enough about Diana AND her services! She has greatly improved the discolorations I had on my face from sun damage and she also improved the clarity of my skin. My forehead was speckled with a lot of redness and bumps when I first went to her. We did several microdermabrasion treatments, peels, and the products she used on my face after the service have all been wonderful! The redness is noticeably lighter & even gone in most spots, and the bumps are COMPLETELY gone.
