I have been here five times and have had a wonderful experience every time - from the check-in desk to the actual Doctor or NP visits. This review is specific to when I sliced my ring finger. I highly recommend Dr. Sach Takhar. He has such a lovely, calm and engaging manner - even in moments of crisis...sliced finger! He was able to see me within 30 minutes of my "accident" and was gentle in his treatment, brilliantly distracting me with conversation. His care enabled me to fly internationally, as planned, within less than 24 hours. He made time to see me the following week to check on the healing and am so grateful to Dr. Takhar - my finger has healed like brand new! Free parking along the entire street also makes things so convenient. Grateful One Medical exists and that they have such amazing teams at both their San Mateo and Burlingame locations.

Here is an overly-generous one star for the Santa Clara County IPA, which Blue Shield referred to…read moreas "my medical group", but it's really a network for physicians who want to get HMO referrals. In addition, they're supposed generate the authorizations for the PCP's referrals, and they process (pay) the claims for most of the HMO's covered services. In the nine months that I put up with this health insurance arrangement, they erroneously "redirected" two claims to Blue Shield - one never got paid so the provider's office wrote it off, and the other took three months to process correctly. It took them six months to generate an authorization for aquatic therapy, and they used these months to authorize treatment at physical therapy facilities that didn't have a pool. Another authorization took five months because they didn't have any doctors for that specialty in their network, so they wanted Blue Shield to take over, and apparently their lawyers had to haggle while I waited. Another time, they took 8 months to correct a copay that was misprogrammed into their database, but miraculously fixed the error overnight (literally!) when I notified them that I had filed a grievance with a government regulatory agency. Significantly, there was not a single claim or referral that they processed correctly! Somebody needs to give this company a complete makeover!

I witnessed this employee treat an elderly woman with complete disrespect. The woman was having difficulty locating her Kaiser member ID and was clearly struggling, yet the employee responded with a rude, impatient, and dismissive attitude. There was absolutely no compassion, empathy, or willingness to help. Instead of assisting a vulnerable patient, she made the interaction unnecessarily uncomfortable and embarrassing. This behavior is unacceptable for anyone working in a patient-facing role. Healthcare employees, especially those at the front desk, should treat every patient with dignity, patience, and respect. An elderly patient should never be made to feel like an inconvenience for needing a little extra time. Based on what I witnessed, I believe this employee's conduct should be reviewed by management. If this is how she treats patients in public, I am concerned about how many others may have experienced similar treatment but chose not to speak up. I hope Kaiser investigates this incident and takes appropriate corrective action to ensure all patients are treated with the professionalism and compassion they deserve.

I went to the clinic twice in the same day, first as a walk-in and later with a scheduled appointment. On my second visit, I waited for over 70 minutes and received no meaningful update about when I would be seen. Eventually, I had no choice but to leave. What was most disappointing was the receptionist's attitude. She appeared friendly and attentive to some patients, while being noticeably dismissive and rude toward others. As a patient, it is frustrating to feel ignored and treated differently, especially when already dealing with a health concern. Waiting can happen in healthcare settings, and most patients understand that. However, there is a big difference between unavoidable delays and poor communication combined with a lack of respect. After 70 minutes, I could have gone to another urgent care clinic and received treatment elsewhere. Patients deserve to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience today. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works to improve both customer service and communication with patients.

They were going to use a throat swab and flu doesn't often come up in a throat swab as the viral load is too low in the throat. They then did a nose swab, but really they should have done a nasalpharyngeal swab. No apologies and they seemed peeved at me pulling them up on that. They also had me me stand at the front desk for 10 mins answering questions when I was feeling very bad to begin with. Also, some may appreciate knowing they will not meet with an MD during their visit. I met only with a PC. I don't think I'll return - I'll stick to Sutter urgent care in downtown San Mateo.

I paid for $47 for my TB test. The TB test itself was good, just a pin-prick and my nurse, Kristy/Christy was really nice and welcoming. I would say this is a good place to go for quick medical tests. They do other things like Xrays and pre employment physicals. It's on a busy road, and I missed a good parking spot. It's really easy to miss, so make sure you know your way. There is a train station across and maybe you could park on that side.
