We were quite sure Medstar wouldn't want me sitting in their waiting room, especially since there was no question of the diagnosis, and we were right. They referred us to their E-visit option. Shortly we received a sign-in text and started the process. It was much like filling out the information form for a visit at the facility. We had a couple of glitches, mostly our fault, but got signed in. Soon a screen popped up telling me that I was "in the waiting room and there were two patients ahead of me." It was nice to sit on my own couch, sipping coffee and cuddling with my puppy while I waited. It wasn't long before Opal signed in and we started our visit. Opal went over my meds and warned me of some interactions to look for when I started the Plaxlovid. Sure enough my blood pressure fluctuated and I had to adjust my bp meds. I was really impressed with the thoroughness of the visit, how pleasant Opal was, and how easy the whole process was.

sometimes their good sometimes their bad. went in around june because i knew that i was coming down…read morewith the flu or covid. both tests came back negative and the doctor then told me it was allergies. i have never had allergies before and asked if i could be prescribed something against the flu because i know my body and know it was coming. the doctor told me to take Claritin a month before my allergy symptoms usually come and sent me on my way. the next day i was so sick i couldn't get out of bed. ended up having covid symptoms d for 6 days. i wish the doctor had just listened to me, i know my body best. went again in august after returning from a europe trip because i had a splinter in my foot for the last 11 days. they took x-rays and checked my foot out and told me nothing was there. i then went to a foot doctor in the area and she took x-rays and found not only wood but also a piece of glass the size of my ring finger nail. turns out the urgent care didn't x-ray my foot correctly. they did correctly diagnose my mom with rsv tho and that doctor was super nice and explained everything well and answered all her questions. i've had good experiences as well such as when i had strep and the flu last year. it's a hit or miss honestly

I made an appointment online and was seen at my appointment time. The receptionists were friendly and check in was a breeze. They took down my info and I was on my way to see the doctor in 15 minutes. The waiting area was small but clean. Photos were not allowed in the examination room but the rooms were a bit worn but sanitary for a doctors office). I was first seen by a PA who assessed my situation, asked questions and did a preliminary check. I was then told to wait and a friendly and knowledgeable physician came to explain the diagnosis (thankfully I'm good) and next steps should I continue to experience similar or new symptoms. They both put my mind at ease and we're thorough in their assessment of my situation. Overall positive experience. No one wants to go to the doctor but it's always easier when the staff at the doctors office are warm and inviting. Thanks guys!

Called to see if he could prescribe antibiotic to finally knock this out and was told another appointment at my expense would be needed. Why?! It's only been 1 week since my initial appointment and 3 days since his follow up call. Such a money grab it's disgusting! The administrative and medical staff are friendly and helpful. When I waited longer than usual at a visit, I received an emailed apology! I was particularly impressed with the degree of care I received from the physician assistants. I saw Ms. Vardanyan, who correctly identified a mysterious health issue I was struggling with...the diagnosis was nothing I thought it would be and I was quickly prescribed the correct doseage of medication. My various symptoms cleared up and the quality of my life has improved so much since then. It wasn't a complicated health issue but it was nothing I would have thought of and Ms. Vardanyan was able to pinpoint the cause...for which I'm grateful! Patient First will require you have a credit card on file to pay for extra charges related to visits and such, so that is one thing to keep in mind. But I think this clinic is one of the best and well worth the hassle.

To my delight this company supposedly services DC and comes to your home so I was very excited to submit a request since I'd feel more comfortable being seen in my home. But, to my disappointment, they don't serve "my area" in DC, specifically Deanwood. Perhaps it would be beneficial if they stated on their website which counties, DC wards, etc. that they service.

I came in for xrays on my foot today. They correctly diagnosed a fracture in my pinky toe and…read morereferred me to an orthopedist who was able to see me the same day. Everyone was professional and I didn't wait long at all -- in and out in slightly over an hour. However the PA I saw prescribed me an antibiotic and I was very confused as to why. My toe was swollen and red because it was fractured, not because of infection. I accepted the antibiotic (they have the ability to fill it on site) but waited to begin the medication until seeing the doctor. He was also confused why it was prescribed and showed me that if I elevated my foot, the color changed as bloodflow returned -- i.e., not an infection, just part of the normal healing process. That did make me question the medical decisionmaking I experienced, but thankfully my case was uncomplicated. Other than the poor stewardship of antibiotics, the care was good and I would return.

Found out the hard way, they did not do or prescribe what I wanted period and staff should be aware of this or ask before making an appointment. $111.98 down the drain! and pushy to get me to make another appointment to give me part of what I needed. It seems like they want you to keep coming back to get what should have been down the first time. I should have know better. There does not seem like there are any doctors out there anymore. Most are scared to give certain prescriptions but that is why they are there. Not at all like who I went to who retired and the one before him and before him etc. They were real doctors unlike what you have now. They proactively make sure my medicine is in stock for my refills. They call me when it is ready without me ever having to contact them. They take care of all my insurance without me having to tell them anything. My refills are painless each month as I all I do is show up, walk-in, and get my medicine. No lines, no hassles, always in stock and ready. Their prices are the same if not cheaper than anywhere else so I dont know why anyone would bother going to any other pharmacy.
