I've been here twice recently due to a consistent case of pink eye (gross) and have been really impressed by the two main doctors. I don't know what their credentials are, but they're both really knowledgeable (and I say that as the daughter of a very skeptical nurse). They've both asked about my medical history, reviewed previous notes in the system and talked me through necessary steps to care for my silly eyes. Last time I was there, other patients were clearly fighting the flu, and the doctor actually came out with sanitary masks for them to wear to minimize the spread of germs. As others have noted, the wait times are rarely ideal, but that's true across the CVS system--you have to sign up, bring a book and make peace with the fact that you will be late to work. Still, this is easier and cheaper than going to my primary care provider for anything short of a broken bone, and given there's a pharmacy on site, it's really straight forward to pick up whatever meds might be prescribed. If you're feeling sick, you have my apologies, but at least you're going to receive high quality care at this clinic! read more

I went to Minute Clinic for a covid PCR test on 3/21. Supposed to get results in 1-3 days by text. Contacted them every day, sometimes 2 or 3 times, up to 3/29 and replies said they received the test and had a backlog. No options to speak to a human. Finally contacted pharmacist at CVS who told me CVS Minute Clinic was a separate entity and he could not help me and could give me no guidance. Could not find any way to comment on line to management. Finally, my doctor was able to contact CVS and she was told that Min.Clinic tried to contact me because my test was insufficient. That is completely false. I will never use Minute Clinic again and recommend that consumers use another option for testing. If possible, I would have given Minute Clinic a negative 10 review. read more

I used CVS drive thru Covid 19 testing and the Minute Clinic billed me . Although CVS stated "a patient with insurance should not have any out of pocket costs for a Covid 19 test". The CVS used incorrect billing code (clinic office visit vs. drive thru Covid 19 testing) to submit claim to my insurance company and my insurance company accepted it as is instead of correct it. I have done Covid 19 testing before with other company, but never paid out of my pocket. The CVS/Minute Clinic is ripping patients during the most vulnerable times. read more

After getting quotes over $150 just for an office visit in the DC area, I thought I'd give CVS's minute clinic a try. I'm glad I did! I can't say the wait times are short. I was quoted a 160 minute wait time when I checked into the kiosk. However, you are free to do what you'd like in that time and CVS will give you a text message before your appointment. I tried the online check in, but it wasn't available. The NP I saw was friendly and efficient. She was basically running the show by herself! It helped that she did in-house testing and therefore was able to make an accurate diagnosis right away. I would definitely recommend this as an affordable option for health care. read more

Rebecca King was the NP that saw my son. I took him for a bug bite. I thought maybe a tick. She said with his symptoms, go to the emergency room. I said I can't just yet. I have a disabled child at home and have to get back. I can take him later. She said no, it doesn't LOOK serious now but I have a feeling we can't wait. She called an ambulance and he was in ICU for two days!!! She saved my son's life!!! It was his heart! I can't tell you all how grateful I am! I am so happy with her. If you actually need care, go anywhere else. At 7:15 am this morning, my daughter had a fever and a severe sore throat. She gets strep a lot; so, I immediately made a CVS Minute Clinic Appointment for 9:30 am. I filled out the paperwork ahead of time and received notification that we could not check-in until 9:20 am. I told work I could not be there that morning, and woke my sleeping, sick child so she could go get a strep test. My daughter and I walked into the building at 9:19 am. I checked in online at 9:20 am on the dot. I received electronic thanks for checking in, and I decided to walk up to the kiosk and see if the appointment check-in was on the list. A Minute Clinic employee came running out to tell me that they were down a provider, and they couldn't see us today because I HAD JUST CHECKED IN. huh? "Perhaps, she thinks I have signed up as a walk-in," I thought. I tried to tell her that we actually had an appointment and had already checked in. She responded that we had not checked in yet and that meant we could not possibly have an appointment. But they were clearly seeing people at 9:30. They weren't without a provider. The clinic was down one, but they had one there. I was confused, and I pointed out that we actually have an appointment, and I actually checked in, and they are actually seeing people at 9:30; so, why not honor our appointment? She said they had been calling people all morning. I checked. I didn't receive a call; so, I asked to speak to the Minute Clinic manager. It turns out there is no way to reach a Minute Clinic Manager, and there is no way to reach a MinuteClinic Regional Manager. Does CVS have so many complaints that they no longer allow customers to talk to managers? Starting to seem like it. I called several CVS numbers to no avail. In the end, I found an appointment elsewhere, but it doesn't give me back the money I have lost being away from work, and this potentially sets my daughter back another day in school. Btw, I did eventually get a text about my appointment-not a call-at 9:34 am informing me my 9:30 am appointment was cancelled. It was immediately followed by a text reminding me to check-in for my 9:30 am appointment. read more

I was looking for an urgent care clinic that would be able to take insurance. I found through the Yelp forums that CVS now has area "minute clinics" that can see patients for limited cases (see website on the services they offer). Best thing: THEY TAKE INSURANCE /and/ if you don't have insurance, their fees are reasonable. I went in on Tuesday evening and they were booked until closing, so then ventured back on Wednesday morning. I waited about 30-40 minutes (a patient was in when I walked up, another waiting) and was seen by a knowledgeable nurse practitioner. She took her time with me, and the patient before me, and she stated that she wanted me to be seen by a doctor at a nearby urgent care clinic in Cleveland Park. Since it was a "referral out" case, they don't charge a fee, not even an insurance co-pay. She also gave me a print-out of her observations and temperature to give to the doctor. They offer great hours: up to 7.30pm on weeknights and even hours on Saturday and Sunday. read more

MinuteClinic is a Godsend for those who do not have a Primary Care Physician because they're not from DC and only seem to need primary care once a year. The location here was busy but the line moved pretty quickly. If you go to any MinuteClinic, they can pull up your records, much like your prescription records nationwide. I'd prefer to have an actual Doc in the Box closer to my house not owned by CVS, but until this concept catches on more, this is a fine place to get some simple meds. read more

One of two different walk in health centers I had to visit recently with very similar experiences: my expectation of wait time was lower than average (its called "Minute" Clinic, not "Half a Day Clinic) and in both cases I was disappointed. My wait time here...estimated when I was signed in at 1 hour, turned out to be over 3 hours and there were only 3 names in front of me. To top it off, I did my shopping at CVS, brought the groceries to my car, and then got a text at the 1.5 hour mark to be back in the waiting room in order to be seen within the next 30 minutes. Then I proceeded to wait an additional 2.5 hours. That being said, once I was seen, the nurse practitioner was excellent: professional, great bedside manner, very knowledgeable, good listener, good communicator, and able to prescribe appropriate medication. She thanked me for my patience and explained that many patients come in and start with one issue and then bring up additional issues once in the office and this sometimes causes longer wait times. That is what I experienced that day. Based on my experience, you will get good care here. Just be prepared that it may not be as fast as the name "Minute Clinic" implies. read more

Trying to get a shingrix and pneumonia vaccine. The people at CVS and Minute Clinic (MC) did not know their jobs. First, MC said they could not give the shingrix, I had to go to the pharmacy. I could not make an appointment while I was there, I had to get a phone number to make an appointment. Pharmacy said this was all wrong, I had to go to the MC. MC said they wanted $180 because Medicare did not cover the shingrix. I told them I had secondary insurance with CIGNA. They said that only held for CVS, not MC. I went home, called the insurance companies, who told me that MC was wrong. Tried to get the pneumonia vaccine, but they would not give it to me without a vaccination history, something that their web site did not specify when I made the appointment. Bottom line: two wasted visits, no shots provided. MC and CVS are different organizations, and they do not coordinate or talk to each other. Tomorrow I go to Walgreens. read more

As previous reviews said, this place is tailor made for someone who doesn't have a primary care physician in the area, but also perfect for someone like me who is young and working and doesn't always have time to schedule and wait for an appointment/needs something small taken care of ASAP and for cheap. That being said, the wait time computer system needs some work. I picked a time originally because of the estimated wait time, went here on my lunch break because I had gotten a notification that it was my turn in 15 minutes, and ended up waiting for 45 minutes after the time I was originally being said. However, once it was my turn, I was seen by really the nicest, most fun and professional nurse practitioner ever. She really made all the difference and I really appreciated her service. read more

I don't want to sit around in waiting rooms, so I really appreciate that it was so quick and professional, and that the healthcare provider (Nicole) also suggested I get my flu vaccine to save myself a trip later. If you are a fan of waiting, then check out this Minute Clinic! I have been to several different Minute Clinics, one might say I am "frequent flyer" and was excited when this one opened up right around the corner from where I live. I chose this Minute Clinic rather than the new clinic on Conn/Porter because I thought it would be faster. A bad decision. All I needed was a TB test, which I did not think would be a big deal. I went on Tuesday and walked in and out. The nurse practitioner (NP) was efficient and down to business. I went back two days later to have the test read and I waited over 2 hours. When people are leaving to get lunch or go to a meeting and come back, you know there is a problem. Don't worry if you want to venture out, you place will be held and if they call your name and are enjoying a latté while others are stuck sitting in uncomfortable chairs, you jump back to the top of the list. The wait was so long the NP actually suggested that some of us go to the other Minute Clinic in Bethesda because nobody was in line. FYI the NP's lunch break is from 2-3. Trust me, after this visit I will not be going back. read more

Nurse practitioner was knowledgeable and nice, and service at $70 was a whole lot easier to stomach out of pocket than if I had to pay for urgent care. Recommended for basic medical stuff. Pro tip- check online or call ahead to see which location has less wait time. read more

First Yelp review here! I went in for a TB test, and was very impressed with the service I received. There were 3 people in front of me, and I waited about 45 minutes. The good thing about having to kill time in a CVS is that you have access to lots of yummy snacks and can do a little shopping. I personally didn't think 45 minutes was long at all, considering the service is walk-in and I've waited just as long at a "real" clinic. Once my name was called, I spent a total of about 5 minutes or so getting the needle and chatting with the RPN about Yelp. And then, I was done. The great thing is that you do not have to go to that exact location to have the test read, so I can just pop into any Minute Clinic for that in a couple of days. If it weren't for Yelp, I wouldn't have even known about the CVS Minute Clinics, and I'm extremely happy that I've found a quick alternative. read more

Terrible service. The nurse did not wash her hands after wiping her nose with a tissue, spent more time staring at the computer screen, and did not record the right blood pressure information which resulted in a follow up call telling me to get my blood pressure rechecked. Go to the Urgent Care Clinic at Connecticut and Porter. They are efficient and the wait is not bad with an appointment. read more

I went here on a Saturday morning around 10 am expecting it to be busy but ended up waiting for about 5 minutes. I probably just got lucky, regardless I was in and out in under 20 minutes! I went in for a strep test (which I hate), the NP on staff was extremely nice, knowledgable and conversational, which put me at ease. read more

I am appalled at the service at this facility!!!! My daughter arrived at this Minute Clinic prior to 5:15, but was denied service. This was despite my daughter's direct plea to be examined. She was anxious because of her symptoms (fever and aches) - She explained that a girl had DIED from meningitis at her university this past week, but the heartless nurse told her that her examination may have taken up to 25 minutes and that was past closing time. Instead, the nurse served another patient who arrived after my daughter because that patient only wanted a flu shot. I think that nurse should examine her conscience. I am sickened by the nurse's lack of compassion and the disregard of the potential public health issue. APPALLED!!!!! read more

So far I am not impressed with them. I have a friend visiting from abroad, who ran out of Ventolin, and I sent him there for (non-urgent) help. It's the closest Minute Clinic to my house but still takes about a 40-minute trip. He arrived to find a sign saying that they closed early today (2:30pm) and he should visit a different Minute Clinic or come back tomorrow. Seriously. I tried to call ahead of time, but there is no way to contact an actual live, thinking person over the phone (unless you are an investor) or email, which shows you what their priorities are. A decent business either needs to 1) have a backup plan or 2) give a local phone number, so potential customers can find out if they're going to find it open. read more

I cannot say enough about this place. I went to the DC Primary and Immediate Care in Cleveland Park yesterday morning with a 102* fever and was not able to see anyone because the receptionist couldn't figure out my insurance card. (For the record, they accept my insurance.) So instead I went to the CVS Minute Clinic for a strep test. The wait was reasonable, about 30 minutes, and Emily Lewis (the nurse practitioner) was a saint. She treated me with the respect and compassion one doesn't alway expect from drop in clinics. read more

I went to the Minute Clinic at 7809 Wisconsin Av. in Bethesda, MD on Labor Day with an eye infection. After being diagnosed with Stye Eye I was prescribed with an antibiotic oinment. A few days later I received a follow up call from another nurse. Upon hearing there has been no improvement whatsoever she said I should pay them another visit to check on the eye. Big mistake. I was checked on weight, height, blood pressure, and general conditions once again and after seeing my eye she prescribed a different antibiotic. This did not work either and I ended going a few days later to the ophthalmologist who told me the antibiotic needed to be combined with an anti inflamatory drug in order to get real improvement. Not only the recovery took longer but I ended paying $144 for the two Minute Clinic visits. A waste of time and money read more
