I recently visited Baylor Scott & White Urgent Care seeking help for significant neck pain…read more(Cervical Dystonia). Before my visit, I carefully reviewed the clinic's website, which stated that the facility could assist with neck pain. Based on that information, I expected evaluation and treatment options beyond over-the-counter medication. During the intake process and throughout my visit, I clearly communicated that over-the-counter medications were not providing relief. Despite this, the care I received was limited to a recommendation for Tylenol. I was left feeling that the services available did not match the expectations set by the clinic's online information regarding treatment for neck pain. It is disappointing when patients in genuine pain are directed by an urgent care clinic to "go to an Emergency Room, even though I'm standing in what I thought was one....particularly when the apparent KNOWN limitations are not clearly communicated upfront. I share this feedback as a recent patient who had a negative experience so that the practice can hopefully better align its advertised services with the actual care provided. I hope this input is received constructively. Honest patient feedback is protected under consumer protection laws, and I trust there will be no form of retaliation for sharing my experience.

No issues there, and the advice nurse I spoke with (Tommy) was very pleasant. The facility itself was lovely and conveniently located. It's a little on the older side, but it was clean and very easy to get around. I can't say I understand the concern about being asked to wait in the lobby, as it wasn't crowded at 4pm on a Thursday, and there was a clear sign indicating I could wait in my car if that was my preference. No issues there. My visit with Dr. Jay was great; Mel, the intake RN was very pleasant and quick about taking my vitals and getting my background information. Dr. Jay was also pleasant, efficient, and thorough. It wasn't a long visit but I felt like she heard my concerns and reacted appropriately. The phlebotomist, Briona, was a gem. My lab work was quick and painless, and we had a great banter while she did my draw. All in all, pretty much met or exceeded my expectations in all areas, and I'm so glad to be established with Dr. Jay, and at a facility so close to my home.

I am honestly heartbroken and furious about how I was treated during this visit. After waiting for…read moreso long, I stepped out of the room to ask the front desk a simple question because I had an online class I needed to get to. As I was leaving, I saw Dr. Gray walking toward my room. He said he was about to come in, but he already seemed upset and flustered and from the moment he spoke, I could tell something was off. He didn't ask what was going on or why I had stepped out. He didn't give me even a moment to explain how I was feeling. He asked two rushed questions, barely listened to my answers, and shut me down when I tried to speak. He looked in my ears and then told me, with no empathy at all, 'There's nothing we can do. You can call ENT and Google exercises at home.' It felt dismissive, cold, and completely unprofessional. What hurt me the most is that my blood pressure was extremely high dangerously high and he treated it like it didn't matter. I know I have to be responsible for my health, but he is a doctor. Why choose a profession centered on caring for people if you are unwilling to actually care? I was not rude, not difficult, not disrespectful, yet I was treated like an inconvenience. I could have walked out of that clinic in a medical crisis, and he didn't seem to care at all. As I was leaving, he said, 'Your blood pressure is a little high, try not to stress,' and then chuckled. That moment broke me. I felt small, dismissed, and completely uncared for. I work incredibly hard. I'm in school finishing a master's program in clinical mental health. I am not illiterate, I am not unreasonable I was simply asking for help with my health. And Dr. David C. Gray absolutely failed me today. I left feeling angry, sad, and scared. Thank you for taking the time to read this, because he certainly didn't.

When I asked for two additional lab tests to be added to my lab order she started to make snide remarks about the doctor office not being a McDonald's and that I would have to interpret my own lab results.
