She's very friendly, and she is accommodating of any kind of special needs you might have. I've been in a few times, and she remembers my name every time. I don't have health insurance, and she's always been really helpful in finding the right medication to treat whatever I need fixed up that is also reasonably affordable. She's even sent me to other pharmacies that she knew would have the medication available for cheaper. Most visits cost less than $80 too, which is awesome.

Incredible incompetence by the PA at the MinuteClinic today. She definitely wasn't hired for skill…read moreand knowledge. She had absolutely no idea how to take blood for a cholesterol check. She ended up jabbing multiple fingers, kept squeezing the finger to get blood, couldn't get it into the tiny glass tube so she probed and scraped the tube over the cut for several minutes. It was excruciating. Then she couldn't work the machine that does the check so she did it all over again. Blood everywhere on the counter and sink. She forgot to give me a gauze pad to stop the bleeding. Told me to just grab one myself. Forgot to put a band aid on and apologized for that too. Dropped stuff. And after all that, blamed the machine because she didn't know how to work it, so all this was for naught. I'll have to do it all over again, definitely somewhere else. I'm pretty shocked, because last year I had a good experience here. But this hire was clearly not vetted by the hiring staff. She is a complete disaster.

Not Good. I REALLY wish I had taken 2 minutes and checked Yelp before I trusted Novant…read moreHealth-GoHealth Urgent Care's own website and decided to go see them for a chest x-ray. The clinical staff seemed to be going through the motions. The Medical Assistant's initial question, a generic 'How are you?' while I was clearly presenting with a hacking cough, in an URGENT CARE clinic, felt insincere and failed to establish any rapport. It was a clear, standardized greeting, demonstrating a lack of acknowledgment of my current symptom, and it made me feel like another number in a busy clinic. I don't matter to them. During the intake process, the Medical Assistant demonstrated poor clinical listening skills and communication regarding the detailed medical chronology for which I was visiting the Urgent Care clinic, and gave me a grossly inaccurate summarization of my history, suggesting a lack of attention to detail that is concerning in a healthcare environment. The physical environment of the exam room was alarming, especially for an urgent care facility. The ceiling vent and the adjacent wall had a significant visible buildup of black particulate matter/dust. This represents a concerning failure to maintain a hygienic clinical environment, particularly where patients with respiratory illnesses are being treated. When I pointed out the excessive buildup on the vent, the Medical Assistant engaged in inappropriate professional commentary, attempting to shift blame to the cleaning team by stating, 'because we lease the space, they just will not clean it 'no matter how many times we ask.' This kind of disclosure of internal operational frustrations is highly unprofessional and reinforces the perception that the clinic accepts unsanitary conditions. This was deeply concerning, particularly given that I was seeking treatment for a persistent respiratory issue. I just had to throw in a "And I guess you can't just jump up there and wipe it off yourself" joke. It wasn't a joke. Physician Assistant, Aris de Vries' response to my expressed frustration with the Medical Assistant's poor listening skills compounded the already poor experience. Rather than addressing the communication failure of the Medical Assistant, the PA deflected responsibility by stating she was new and advising me to "show her grace." Furthermore, he diminished the importance of providing a comprehensive history by suggesting I "didn't need to give her as much detail." I am 57 years old. I've had cancer, a thyroidectomy and a brain tumor removed. NOBODY has ever spoken to me like that in any doctor office. And he is just a PA-C. Goodness. I selected this Urgent Care location SPECIFICALLY to get a chest x-ray. Novant Health-GoHealth Urgent Care's website for their Rocky River location shows an x-ray icon under the "Services" section. But, PA-C, de Vries informed me that I would need to travel to a separate facility, down the street, to get the x-ray. When I expressed immense frustration about that, and the misleading information on the website about X-ray services being available on-site, PA-C de Vries acknowledged the issue by stating he had previously raised concerns with management about the "limited X-ray capabilities" at this location--again, unnecessarily disclosing internal operational problems. And showing no empathy for a patient's frustration. Finally, when I repeatedly asked to have the address for the x-ray facility (that he had in his hand!) so I could put an end to the disappointing visit, the PA-C disregarded my request and INSISTED on extending the interaction to "counsel" me through my frustration. His refusal to simply provide the address and allow me to leave demonstrated a profound lack of respect for my time and autonomy. To say that PA-C de Vries is a robot devoid of generosity for a patient's needs would be generous. He is someone in need of some training. Overall, this visit was marked by a complete lack of attention to patient detail, misleading information about core diagnostic services, and a failure to maintain basic hygiene standards. I strongly recommend that the clinic address staff training in professionalism and communication, improve transparency regarding services like X-rays, and immediately correct the alarming maintenance issues. The front desk staff was ok.

There are some other ladies in the office who come across as abrupt, rude and just generally unhappy people. No warm fuzzy going with them at all. The nurse who takes you back to the room is nice enough BUT she is usually in such a hurry that when she asks you questions, she lets you get out a few words before she cuts you off and doesn't let you finish your statement. I am no chatty Kathy. I will answer a question succinctly with the information you need. Please don't cut me off. First, how RUDE and second, it ended up taking even more time because I had to repeat what I had started saying and then finish my statement for her to have the information she needed. How did the rudeness save time? It didn't. Thankfully Drs. Fix and Eckel are AWESOME. I am difficult to get a correct lense because I really need a stronger RX than I have but it gives me headaches so we have to work and find what will work for me. I've seen both doctors over the years but have stuck with Dr. fix overall because she has found the knack for getting the right RX strength for me. So ultimately, I keep coming back because the doctors are fantastic but if it weren't for them, I would go somewhere else because the front staff just make me feel like an imposition when I come in. Maybe that is completely unintentional on their part but I'd like them to be aware of how the make people feel. I'm thick skinned but how about the elderly or people going thru tough times...they don't need to be made feel like that. I only took off one star for that.

If I could give this location zero stars, I would. This has been the most disappointing experience…read moreI've had with an eye care provider, and I have been receiving routine eye care since adolescence. My primary concerns relate to communication and professionalism at the front desk, particularly involving the office manager at the Rocky River location. During a recent visit, I was given incorrect information regarding my insurance coverage for an eye exam. I was initially told that I would be responsible for a significant out-of-pocket cost, which understandably caused concern and led me to consider canceling or rescheduling my appointment. When I attempted to clarify this with the front desk, I encountered inconsistent explanations and was informed that I would be charged a $50 cancellation fee. This was especially frustrating given that the confusion stemmed from misinformation provided by staff. When discussing the matter with the office manager, I found her demeanor to be dismissive and unprofessional, which further added to the stress of the situation. Fortunately, after speaking with a member of the financial department, I was correctly informed that my exam would be fully covered by insurance. While I ultimately proceeded with the appointment, the experience leading up to it was unnecessarily stressful and could have been avoided with clear and accurate communication. Additionally, I observed what appeared to be staff discussing patients within earshot of others, which raised concerns about professionalism and patient privacy. I do want to acknowledge that several staff members were courteous and helpful. However, my interactions with the office manager significantly impacted my overall impression of this location. I hope leadership addresses these concerns to improve communication, professionalism, and the overall patient experience.
