The reception staff didn't do much at all. The 2 TVs were blaring two different shows AND the staff were scrolling through reels on their phones. Too much chaos and noise in a lobby when you feel lousy. The Physician's Assistant was really really nice and professional. I would give her 5 stars for her knowledge and excellent care. However, her nurse had some really long nails that just kind of grossed me out when she was taking my vitals and giving me an inhaler. Nails inevitably have some nasty bacteria living under them unless you scrub them every wash with a brush and long colorful nails have no business in an urgent care setting. She didn't wear gloves, nor a mask and she never washed her hands or applied sanitizer in front of me. She asked me if I got the Covid shot and when I said no, she gave me a comment under her breath that the vaccines didn't work anyway. My husband ironically had the exact same things to say about her when he went in the day prior for the flu. I don't think politics, unscientific based beliefs, not poor hygiene have any business interfering in the service an urgent care provides to sick patients. I think a waiting room should make sick patients feel calmer and not overstimulated by auditory noise coming from multiple TVS and staff phones. This location is a mile from my house and brand new but based on my very first experience, I didn't get the impression anyone but the PA was very concerned about providing excellent patient-centered care. I don't think I would return unless I was very sick and desperate.

My appointment was scheduled for 730am. The doors were locked when I showed up. In confusion, I went to the office across the hallway inquiring if the clinic was open. I had an appointment with Rebecca Charnley and the receptionist confirmed she was there. She told me to knock at the office because they will open the doors. I go across and knocked. From a distance, the receptionist, older woman with short hair looks at me and goes away. I knocked again and no one. I called the Frederick Health Office number and they stated that they would call the Urbana location to find out what is going on. She let me know that someone will be opening the doors right now. The receptionist in her passive aggressive away went to every window to open the blinds before reaching the door to unlock it and then turns around without saying a word. I spoke and said "Why isn't the office open at 730am?" She said I. a stern tone, your appointment is at 745. I replied I was given specific instructions to arrive at 730am. She retorted, "it was difficult to get here and there was traffic." She asks for my name and then said "I don't need anything from you, you can sit down" She checked in a man immediately after me and changed her tone, talked to him more, and expressed pleasantries. I plan to submit a formal complaint to Frederick Health. The doctor and nurses who checked me in were wonderful despite the negative first impression.

I received a text message this morning from Kaiser that said would fill on 3/6/25 (today is 3/6/25). To be sure I called the pharmacy and they said they were working on filling the script. Then I get another text message that said they would fill on 3/7/25 (ok now I'm confused). So I call the pharmacy again to clear up my confusion and ask to speak with a pharmacist who precedes to tell me now they won't fill it until 3/8/25!!! Now I'm completely confused and a little angry now at this point. So now I'm forced to drive to Gaithersburg on Saturday ( which I was supposed to be out of town with my husband) to fill a prescription that I should have gotten today.

In the spring of 2007 my dentist in the Fredneck area recommended I have my remaining wisdom teeth removed and recommended Dr. Michael Will, who just so happen to have his office 3 miles from home. Bonus. I made my appointment and went for the consult. I don't remember this consult very much as having teeth pulled was pretty common for me. (Before I had braces I needed 10 [yes, ten] baby teeth pulled.) It was when I was lying in the chair and he finished discussing the teeth removal that my memory really kicks in. At the very end he asks me, "do you often wake up in the middle of the night and you're not breathing?" What?! Yes! How'd he know?? He goes on to tell me he has much more education than just oral surgery and goes into how looking in my nose he can tell I likely sleep poorly. Bingo. Nailed it on the head. Dr. Will could have told me about the procedure he'd like to do to improve my sleep, but he doesn't. That's the easy move and that's not him. To ensure my apnea is mechanical, versus neurological or some other version, he sends me to do a sleep study and and have more tests which take about 2-3 weeks. I don't mind this because one, I've never had surgery; it scares me and two, he's being thorough ensuring that his procedure will correct my problematic sleep. I eventually have the procedure and was thrilled. I remember laying down on the surgical table, then I have a vague memory of goofing off in a wheelchair, then I'm sitting on my neighbors couch and their kids are putting stickers all over my sweatshirt. Zero pain. None, only mild discomfort for about 4 days. On day 4 I go back to his office and Dr. Will proceeds to remove roughly 325 feet of gauze from my nostrils. (I may be exaggerating.) While it didn't hurt, it was certainly a VERY strange sensation having that much packed gauze pulled from your nose like a clown pulls scarfs from his sleeve. It's now 2019 and as he told me back in 2007, I may need the same surgery once again. I'm here leaving a note as I prep for the same surgery far away from Maryland. If I were still in the USA I'd 100% go back to Dr. Will for the work he performed.
