I would need to pay out of pocket Even after showing the bbs portal with their location listed as in-network they turned me away. Sadly, I feel like these medical businesses accept contracts but don't honor them when it comes time for service.

I was then told to sign forms - without being allowed to see them. I was handed a signature pad while the screen faced only the staff, with the forms verbally analyzed by a staff person. When I asked to briefly skim what I was signing, I was met with resistance and visible annoyance. In the exam room, another staff member echoed this attitude, saying, "So I heard you want to read the forms?" I was questioned as if my request were unreasonable and was barely allowed to view the screen, which was dramatically tilted away from me for no conceivable reason. The disorganization continued: my vitals were not recorded until later prompted, I was left alone far longer than promised after my test results were confirmed to be available, while staff chatted about non-work matters outside, and my discharge paperwork was incorrect. The provider prescribed meds for a confirmed diagnosis and a possible alternative, but the medication for the actual, confirmed diagnosis was missing from my paperwork until I pointed it out. Overall, the experience was chaotic, dismissive, and error-prone. I left with no confidence in the care or treatment I received.

Doctor Mark Gordon was very professional and willing to answer any questions I had. He also understood what it meant to serve and the importance of taking care of veterans. I could not be happier with the way the examination went the way he treated me. Again the entire staff was outstanding. I would highly recommend this location.

Having visited this facility a few times for VA Compensation and Pension Exams, I can readily tell…read moreyou that if you are scheduled for an exam here, get it rescheduled somewhere else. My latest exam was in March 2026 and was scheduled on a Friday at 4:30 PM. Being a government worker, I get the idea of Federal Friday, but it is sad to see it applied to someone whose livelihood depends on being given good service. The examiner, Dr. Eric Merrill, obviously is there just to deny claims. This is based off of my experience with him and other reviews on here. When I first met him, I thought maybe he was in it to help vets, but he clearly is not. My latest exam with him lasted around 5 minutes. I brought in hard copies of my evidence for him to look at and discuss, and he said he didn't want to see them. He asked me a couple of questions and said, "okay, well I am all done here." I was then shuffled off to another room where a nurse came in to take some blood pressure readings. When she came in the room, she told me, "we are all just in a hurry to get out of here." That much was obvious as she rushed my blood pressure readings and sent me on my way. Dr. Merrill denied my claim with a two-sentence explanation. He must not have reviewed my evidence, as it was not mentioned in his findings. He didn't really say much about this claim at all. I suppose this entire exam process could be summed up as "It's Friday, let's hurry up and screw this guy and get out." It is sad that people depending on honest and thorough exams get this sort of treatment. This wasn't Dr. Merrill's first cavalier dismissal of one of my claims, and it sounds like this sort of attitude is his go-to all-around. His lab coat still says "Neurosurgeon," but he needs to let go of the past and try and focus on being a good claims examiner, which is what he is now. This sort of treatment is what dissuades many veterans from seeking the compensation they deserve. This office and its handling of veterans do a disservice to this country and the veteran community.
