Kaiser even told me that if I want to go to a different pharmacy, I do not even have to get a hard copy - just go to your preferred pharmacy and have it transferred. Also, be aware that the OCT things in their pharmacy tend to be overpriced - from our experience, Costco is much cheaper (eg: try pricing loratadine, aka Claritin). It won't matter to us though, because after over 30 years with Kaiser, we'll change plans later this year.

The lovely lady who works there gave me three prescriptions for my flu, (anti-cough, lidocain for throat pain keeping me up at night, and some ear drops) the copay was low, and I got a strep test. I'm holding off on getting a regular primary care physician until my insurance changes to Kaiser in May, so this was perfect for fulfilling my basic medical needs. I wouldn't say it was super high quality medical care, but it's two blocks away from my house and I don't have a car, and I do have the flu so it was pretty much ideal given that all I wanted was to be home in bed. Another benefit of the minute clinic is that it's just walk in walk out, and you don't spend time in a waiting room with a lot of other sick people.

So I went there on Tuesday, Rae greeted me and did what she had to do for Tb procedure. She also reminded me to check with my insurance if they also covers for cvs minute clinic treatment, which they do cover. Two days later, Grace greeted me for TB read, and she helped me going through all the docs needed for claiming the insurance. Basically, before you were seeing by the NP (Nurse Practitioner), you have to sign in from the touch screen computer located outside. You can also fasten the procedure by having this online at home. Then you will get a number. Waiting area is not that big, only have 4 chairs. They don't have buzzers to call you while you wait, so just wait in the waiting room, don't roam around in cvs otherwise you're gonna miss your spot. Is this some phishing scam? I even called the day of my appointment to confirm I was coming in, and they still demanded my credit card information over the phone. It is a frustrating experience and not how you expect to be treated as a patient or customer.

Every year this is a hassle. This year I submitted the paperwork on March 24th, then I reached out on April 1st, April 5th, April 15th, and April 22nd. The paperwork was due April 26th and I did not get the paperwork until today on May 7th My disability claim was terminated and now I have to submit an appeal in order to start getting paid again and there is no guarantee it will be appealed because it is from an insurance company through my last employer. I had been low key harassing Kaiser for 4 days by calling every 1-2 hours until I saw results and I didn't get those papers until 2 weeks after they were due. Here is the kicker though - They told me they cannot fax my documents to the insurance company even though I have signed a Release of Medical Information for this company specifically for Kaiser. Ok whatever, BUT THEN they told me they can't even email the documents to me over the Kaiser App in the messages and gave me no real reason why... That is REDICULOUS, how is that not possible in 2026? (I have received paperwork in the past over the Kaiser App, they were intentionally making it harder for me because I annoyed them for not doing their job). Today CNN reported there was a Legionella outbreak at Kaiser and 18 people have been diagnosed ill and 3 died, TODAY, the same exact day my Cystic Fibrosis Specialist told me to come into the office because they couldn't email or fax a document.... This is not the first time I have had issues getting needed documents signed and I doubt it will be the last.
