This past week I needed some custom business cards quickly for an upcoming trade show, as I recently started a new freelance consulting business. The work included a custom logo and custom size (those cool little half-size cards you see some people with). Despite being obviously very busy when I walked in, Susan, Banyon, and owner Cedric were all very personable and made me feel like I was the only customer in the place. Based on a very rough mockup I drew for them and described, the logo on the proof they emailed me was exactly what I'd seen in my head, and how well it paired with the text treatment looked very professional and surpassed my expectations. A post of it on Facebook quickly got over 200 likes and 54 comments--all positive--many from influencers in the very industry in which I'm seeking opportunities. In December 2015 I had a first printing of a book of photos with text, and a second printing in January 2016. The original prints of the pictures are especially fine and good reproduction was a priority. Despite some discrepancies between my digitized files and the system at Minuteman, the technician there worked closely with me to produce the quality I required, in a timely manner. Owner Fred Fassett proved also extremely accommodating and helped me make connections for marketing. Minuteman rates are very reasonable, and for me it was a great bonus to access the same people in person on each contact, close to my home near Berkeley. You should call them and let them know about the issues. I am a good friend of the owner, and he would probably do whatever is necessary to fix the situation. Fyi, they do mailings... which means that they deliver the mail to whichever post office you pay them to go to. Otherwise, they ship UPS. Excellent! Minuteman Press did a great job on my guitar instruction book, "BLUES TO JAZZ". They even succeeded in adding a red border to the existing yellow one on the book's cover!
