The salon is beautiful (very charming and I really like the decor). The parking can get full but they have extra parking in back. All of the stylists are so nice and the vibe is fun and relaxed- you can tell everyone enjoys being there. Ashley is my stylist and she does my hair PERFECTLY every single time. She is able to make me blonde without damaging my hair and makes it look so natural. Her coloring skills and cutting skills are incredible. I used to not like getting hair cuts at all because I always felt like they looked so choppy but her haircuts and trims are perfect and the color is always exactly what I want. I am always asking for something new and I've always left extremely happy with my hair and feeling so relaxed and that's how it should be after a salon visit! I can't recommend her enough. Salon is BEAUTIFUL and I love that they offer drink services. My stylist was very sweet during the booking and services but my overall experience was not great and I won't return. I'm not happy with how my hair turned out. Took almost 5hrs to do my hair although I was already very close to what I wanted. Did not achieve the look I had asked for and feel like my hair looked better before getting it done here, which is a bummer, feels like I wasted over $300. I reached out to my stylist about my concerns and she didn't seem to care at all that I wasn't happy and then left me on read lol Not a good way for the stylist to keep customers. Just make sure you ask for a consultation before getting your hair done so you know exactly what they're doing and what you are, or are not, getting so you aren't left disappointed in the end. read more

Ask the price of the service before they start! In my experience my girl only works one day a week, but she forgot to say her price increased due to her working one day a week! I went to her for over 7 years and she NEVER charged me the same price for her service!!! $65.00 for trimming five hairs, color and dry is all she ever did! But for 7 years never the same price!! What happened to the good old days. I had my hair done every 4 weeks and never cancelled an appointment, I was guaranteed money! Do you folks know what it's like to find a new hair person! I hate to give this review but I was sorely disappointed with the customer service recently. I had my first appointment that went ok back in September. During that time it was mentioned that there are apparently 20+ stylists that work at Minx (maybe more?). I bring this up because I think it has relevance to why I am rating this one star. So, I had my initial visit that went ok. My overall experience was so-so but my hair turned out great so I felt it a good call to go back. So, I had a special holiday event this week and I wanted to have my hair touched up and also styled because of the purpose of the celebration. I called weeks ago and scheduled my appointment and explained why I wanted my appointment for morning and the work event I was going to. You know where this is headed, right? I got my text reminder of the appt. 24 hours before, and I'm feeling good that everything is going as planned. Then, around 2 pm the day BEFORE (read: more or less 18 hours notice) I get a phone call from the desk gal saying that my stylist had to cancel because she "wasn't feeling well." Which is convenient given it's a holiday week and I'm pretty sure "not feeling well" = wanted an extra snow day or opted to help out her friend who needed her hair done over me, or whatever. Even if it was 100% true, my stylist is just truly sick, how about one of the other 20+ Stylists take over and help a co-worker out? Nope. "Sorry, there is nothing available. I can fit you in next month?" No thanks. I told her how upset I was that I had this planned due to a work celebration and she didn't care. No one cares. Luckily I had a hairstylist girlfriend who was able to help me out, even though it meant a drive for me back to my hometown. But, my impression of Minx salon totally effing me over right before a big event and not offering me a back up solution will forever strike me as truly crappy business ethics. read more

Most comfortable, homey salon! Note: this review is of the business and facility not a specific hair dresser. Upon arrival, the parking is really tricky to figure out..so do your research before you leave home. The salon is clearly marked, you can see it from the main road. It seems to be a residential home converted to a business. Their exterior is wonderfully clean and trendy. It's nice to have a welcoming salon facade. The reception is a bit trick to find but after a quick glance around you should be able to find it on your own. Everything indoors was tidy and organized. There's plenty of room around each chair for dressers to move around without issues. Their chairs and hair sinks (?) are totally comfortable, didn't have a moment of soreness or annoyance after a little over an hour in the chair. And I have to touch on the staffs behavior: great team and easy to understand/ work with. I'm looking forward to trying them again post-corona when we're back to normal. read more

I had previously used a box dye to dye my hair blonde and it was growing out very awkwardly. I came to Sage and asked her to color my hair so that it would grow out looking natural and I would not need more coloring or work done on it to look nice. It has now been a full year and it still looks amazing! I didn't need any extra work done just like I asked. I also loved spending the time with her as shes so sweet and very fun to be around. Eh im not a fan of the atmosphere. I guess I prefer a smaller less amount of people around me. I'm rating this place one star because of the stylist I had (Christine Schauer). She's unfortunately very inexperienced and still gets referrals from the girls at this salon. I sent her images of what I wanted prior to the appointment and showed her the same images at the appointment. She did what she wanted and it was nothing close to what I had asked. I had purple and copper hair something a brunette does not want when getting it blonde. She kept telling me when I went back to get it fixed that it's my dark hair she's unable to lift the blonde or that she's unfamiliar with my hair and it can take multiple sessions. I kept reminding her my previous hairstylist (may she rest in peace) was able to give me a very bright blonde in one session.. no issues no damages no copper/purple. Unlike her that damaged my hair and didn't retone and lift the current blonde I had. She also was so rough with blow drying my hair my neck was sore. She does not know what's she's doing. She recommends purple/blue shampoos when it's not necessary (I even heard one of the girls in the salon say they're not needed). My previous hairstylist told me that when a stylist is unable to lift your color and give you a good bleach it's because it's not being left long enough. read more
