WORST PLACE EVER ! Went back for a consultation & the guy was so IMPATIENT AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Felt like a dealership talk trying to sell product for "Help hearing" instead of actual helping. Kept asking about what type of business I own (Seemed like he was trying to base the pricing off of how much income I made). The hearing aid product is pretty good quality. But, I wanted to bring some concerns regarding Dexter's deceptive behavior stating there would be no extra charges, but later informed us that additional fees would apply. I'm particularly concerned for elderly clients. Buyer Beware!! Miracle Ear Hawaii lied and do not honor the 30 day trial period as advertised. Try to keep you in contract by some fine print. Customer service ? Not at ALL. Will not call back. Hearing aids not satisfactory. Talk you into $8 K and can't hear what is being said by people close up. They are the worse people ever. They ripped off old people and customer service is horrible. They ripped off my mom for 9k for a hearing aid that she returned because it wasn't helping her like they promised. My mom is 90 years old and they took advantage of her. KUPUNA / SENIORS BEWARE My experience at Miracle Ear Kunia-Village Park was the worst in my 71 years of living! The most dishonest people I have ever dealt with, and from a supposedly "Legacy" company too! In Jan 12, 2024 I was drawn-in by their deceiving newspaper ad: "A major name brand hearing aid provide wished to field test a remarkable new digital hearing instrument in the area. This offer is free of charge and you are under no obligation." How untrue, I'm now out $7,300 and as of May 14, 2024 I have not received my cancelation refund nor the hearing aids, NOTHING!I I went in and I asked the receptionist if HMSA insurance would pay, she said she'd check and said looks like it should. I go to Dexter Ross's office gives me the hearing test and sends me over to Curtis Spevak's office, who is visiting from Idaho, the salesman/closer. He drops the price for the 2nd best pair of hearing aids, $7,300! I almost fell off my chair, I asked him will insurance pay some of the cost, he matter of factly says "yeah they'll pay". I asked at least three times before signing the Purchase Agreement and he kept repeating, "yeah they're going to pay". So with dual HMSA insurance I thought I'd end up paying less than half and if the hearing aids didn't work out I had "...30 days from the Purchase Date..to get a refund". On Jan 16,2024 I call HMSA and leave a message if I'm eligible for hearing aid benefits. On Jan 26, 2024 HMSA calls me back and tell me I am NOT eligible until Feb 2025! I immediately call ME-Kunia, and tell receptionist Summer that HMSA said I'm not eligible for hearing aid benefits so I want to CANCEL. She said I have to meet with Dexter Ross to sign cancellation papers, but Mr. Ross is on vacation and will return on Feb 12, 2024, the 31st day after I signed the Purchase Agreement(PA). Feb 13, 2024 I met Mr. Ross and he points out item #4 of the PA that states "...paid too much or cannot afford it..." is not a good reason. I told him that his office staff, Summer and Mr. Spevak both totally misrepresented he fact that HMSA insurance would pay some of the cost! He tells me he has to check with his boss. NOW THE TOTAL DISHONESTY!!! Feb 15, 2024 Mr. Ross calls me and tells me, "I have good news, they spoke to RM at HMSA and she said both my Fed and State insurances are eligible to use for my hearing aids". I told him "I don't think so." Feb 22, 2024 I call ME and and Mr. Ross tells me, "Miracle Ear WILL NOT CANCEL THE ORDER!" I asked Mr. Ross if they are a "Participating" HMSA office, why do they charge the customer the ENTIRE AMOUT! He said because HMSA takes so long the pay them, that when corporate Miracle Ear (ME) see a balance due for a long time, "THEY WILL SEND A COLLECTION AGENCY AFTER ME"! Feb 23, 2024, I contact an HMSA supervisor and she tells me they have a documented/recorded phone call of Jan 30,2024 with RM informing Miracle Ear-Kunia that I an NOT ELIGIBLE for hearing aid benefits! Remember Mr. Ross calling me 15 days after HMSA telling them I'm NOT eligible, Mr. Ross's calls me on Feb 15, 2024 saying that HMSA said I AM ELIGIBLE!, an outright lie! You know most older people would be overwhelmed as to what to do, like I am, and probably just give up and get taken of by this so called "Legacy" company. I would guess that a majority of hearing aid clientele are elderly and easy prey for ME-Kunia. Shameful! read more

This is a car dealership...ooops sorry it's not, but it certainly feels like one. Sorry too car dealerships and I think the car dealership industry has improved with so many buying options. Anyway, back to Miracle Ear in Kunia. The center seems more sales than patient care oriented. And they have a mill type atmosphere where it's like make the sale and then on to the next customer. If you're observant, you will see this. But then again, I can't recommend this place at all! During the course of discussion about how degraded hearing can affect balance, I was describing what I Iearned about vertigo from a Physical Therapist. Dexter rudely cut me off and went directly to my mother to continue the sale. This was obviously intentional. RUDE! While we were discussing the purchase, Dexter was already asking if he could put the deposit on the CC. We hadn't even decided to buy. With this very sneaky sales tactic, he was already committing us to buy. After, speaking with Jared and completing the purchase feeling somewhat railroaded into the purchase, Jared was very quickly on to the next sucker, oops again. Sorry I meant customer. And I do mean customer, not patient. More to come. Note that I specifically asked Dexter if we can cancel the contract. He simply said yes. Neither Dexter or Jared went over the contract terms with us. And the drama continues: We went back to their office to cancel. Dexter asked us why we wanted to cancel. We gave him our reasons none of which being we didn't want his help. I even told him that we might come back. But then Dexter started to make really bad comments such as we didn't want his help. Again we never said that and that wasn't one of the reasons we wanted to cancel. He said more things that were simply not true where I got angry to the point that I told him when I was a service manager and if one of my techs acted the way he was treating us, I would have suspended him. Dexter's reply was something to the effect that "we're one of the top selling stores so that was not going to happen to him." Can I say that that was such an idiotic comment in that I was only using what I said as an example of how bad his behavior was. So I told Dexter that we would never come back. Guess what he said. He said that he didn't want to see us again either. WOW!! And get this, they are keeping $150 per hearing aid as a restocking fee. Go figure, if you use the hearing aid, but the company fails to meet certain conditions of the contract you can return the USED hearing aids for a full refund. But for a brand new, unused hearing aid there is a restocking fee. Does that make sense?! Here is a clause out of their contract under recission which lists reasons that are not accepted for recission: "The buyer feels that he/she paid too much or cannot affort the hearing aid after the purchase agreement is signed" Can you believe that?! That clause definitely means that they are more interested in the money rather than the buyer, or they do not trust the buyer. The buyer cannot afford it, but they will "stick it" to the buyer such as my 91 year old mom. Perhaps they want to see your personal finances as proof? Finally. supposedly a manager named Victoria replied to my review asking if we could discuss our experience offline. Strange as the people at Miracle Ear told me that they never heard of a Victoria. And Victoria never contacted me. Just plain disgusting. People, DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE! You are dealing with immature and unprofessional! people! read more

I would not go to this Miracle Ear or for that matter, any Miracle Ear. It was a terrible, shameful experience and would not purchase from them even if they have a superior product. Do not go here!!! Keisha and Dexter was very thorough and nice BUT when you actually speak with Curtis who sells you the hearing aids-he is rude and almost like he just does what he wants & will get you paying big bucks for something that your insurance would cover. I worked for an insurance company, particularly for the one that my grandpa has. I am familiar with his benefits thus hearing aids are covered with a prior authorization if it's medically necessary which it is, for hearing loss. Duh! After being on the phone with insurance, I advised Curtis to submit prior auth and he wouldn't do it, he said it would take 6 months. No Curtis-it does not take 6 months for a prior auth. 14 days if it's not urgent! Heading out I told him that we would find elsewhere who could do a prior auth and get insurance to cover, his response, no medical service is free esp for hearing aids and he said "good luck you'll have to wait 6 months". Really? Are you upset you couldnt make a sale? Sorry not sorry for wasting your time-actually you wasted mines! Anyways, Curtis needs to get out of here, on this island even, sounds like trash from the mainland who needs to be shipped out asap. Dont let your grandparents go without someone who knows their stuff. Curtis will take their money! BEWARE! update-contacted corporate and they too, think this was scammish. So, corporate called me back- I learned that they are non par with my grandpa's insurance BUT before I even make an appointment, I always make sure they are! I was told the appt was booked with someone from their call center on the mainland that didn't know. Hmm, fishy because I gave them the cards before he had the hearing test and was never told that then. SMH. Dexter also called me back-never agreed with what he said. Their process is to pay cash or loan out the hearing aids while they obtain a prior authorization to get coverage. It don't work that way. Of course they won't approve the hearing aids if the member already received the hearing aids. A prior authorization is to be obtained BEFORE services or devices like the hearing aids are rendered. Not after you got the services. New rule is that most insurance don't do RETROAUTHS hence the reason why they say, most likely it wouldnt be approved because they submit it after the fact the services were already rendered! I just want it to be known what this place does. They dont know much about how insurance works and are very rude when they don't get you to buy! I feel bad for our kupunas who goes in to this place just paying cash for everything like my grandpa was going to do. I was glad to have found someone that takes my grandpa's insurance and not having to pay out of pocket for hearing aids, not 'amplifiers' which they said insurance would only cover. I have been with this company for 2 years now, the check ups and monitoring are lousey. Constantly cancelling and no notice. Today went in for 130pm waited til after 2pm, then they said they were double booked and to reschedule. REALLY.
