Dr Christopher A Regala MD ENT is a wonderful Doctor but his staff should be all fired. They are lazy and incompetent and will never return a call and schedule you for an appointment. They are ruining this Doctor's reputation. read more

Dr Regala is a no nonsense ENT and I like that. He gets straight to the point and is very professional. He's also a good listener, but doesn't have time for chitchat. Perhaps some people like doctors who are nice to chat with? I like to chat too, but I totally understand and appreciate his style. He is very thorough and diagnosed my hearing and sinus issues quickly and prescribed testing and treatment that should help me. read more

Dr. Regala does not take the time to listen to his patients, and when I would ask questions it was like pulling teeth. I felt like he thought he was above me and my concerns, and my questions seemed to annoy him. I didn't feel like he had my best interest, and don't trust him to operate on me. I would show my doctor his notes and she would explain to me what they meant. He is not a good doctor! read more

He does not explain things and I don't get an after visit paper summarizing what took place during my visit and his idea what may be causing my problem. I've gotten calls that it's time to schedule a follow up appointment but when you miss their calls and you attempt to make a call back the office staff does not answer your calls (at least mine). Guess it's back to Straub for me. To bad Drs. Kristy Adachi and Kaneal Chun are not practicing anymore. They were the best. read more

Staff was great. I had a perforated eardrum that popped while flying. They considered this an emergency and got me in quickly. We called on a weekend and got a call back right away. He confirmed my own "diagnosis" . Treated it with drops. Gave me directions on how to prevent it in the future. I follow his directions whenever I fly. read more

Dr. Regala is always in a hurry, doesn't explain and gives handouts instead. I was referred to him by my PCP because of ear pain. He removed ear wax in one ear, told me to take Advil and ordered a hearing test. I didn't have a hearing problem, which was confirmed by the test. I asked whether there was another test that could get to the cause of my pain. He said he could order an MRI. It was scheduled in September for a December date. Pali Momi informed me that insurance authorization was never obtained. Dr. Regala's office didn't submit the authorization request until one week prior to MRI! They had 2-1/2 months to get the auth! I had to reschedule the MRI or pay upfront in full. issue still not resolved. read more

I'm only leaving one star because they play Christian music and the receptionist that helped me was nice but other wise the other receptionist that sat next to her that wanted to give her snobby eyes and "professional" input to her coworker could talk nicely just because what? You just wanna go home? I would not give any stars at all if I didn't need to! I respect all doctors no matter who I see and I always place myself in others shoes but Dr.Regala walked in the room, didn't introduce himself, no eye contact, asked what was wrong with me typed what he needed and said I was fine. Okay, good news but did not ask me if I had any questions or what the cause could be. My appointment LEGIT took 3minutes! I took longer filling out paperwork and getting checked in than seeing the doctor. I do not recommend AT ALL! Please. If you're having any issues? DO NOT GO TO HIM or his staff. Have you tried to find an ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat or Otolaryngologist) doctor on Oahu lately? Let me tell you, it's hard, and even pre-COVID-19, most of them were not taking new patients. I was referred to Dr. Regala from a personal friend, and several months after a great experience with him, I am shocked to find these rather old, but pretty negative reviews. I usually trust Yelp reviews, but this time, I'm glad I didn't look. So...let's try to update you on some good news. Some may consider me biased for the upcoming disclosure, but I feel that it helps to lend some cred to my review: Dr. Regala did some of his medical training with some of my Dad's esteemed colleagues at a well-respected medical university (Stanford). If anything, I'm not biased by that because I've seen more than my share of ENTs both on the Mainland and locally (not Dad, because that's unethical and he's also retired), and I'd say the bar I've set for any medical professional treating me or my family is pretty high. First off, we needed to get my Mom to an ENT as soon as possible, as she was having some pretty distressing symptoms that needed urgent attention. Dad may be retired, but he/we knew that much. In my experience, it's tough to get an ASAP appointment with ENTs, especially for a new patient, and the wait was about 2 or more weeks to get seen by whoever my parents had seen before. But Mom is in her late 80's and has quite a few medical complications which deemed her case pretty serious. I was able to call Dr. Regala's office, and they DO answer the phone. And I was able to get an appointment for my Mom the very next day after the call. Dr. R. was really nice to squeeze her in, and maybe he had to skip lunch to do it, but we are so thankful. We were wrong in our guess of what was causing my Mom's health issues, but Dr. R. was so observant that he figured it out really quickly and it wasn't something that we even thought of! Thank goodness, because it was worse than we thought, and was a pretty serious issue. Not only did Dr. R. figure out the issue and order some tests, but he prescribed treatment for my Mom, and followed up with her dentist & another physician to be sure they were all on the same page to help Mom get better. It wasn't a simple thing, and he was so helpful. Also, my poor Mom was really feeling rotten and wasn't her usual friendly self. He was so kind and gentle with her. Poor Dr. R. had myself and my sister to contend with, as we brought Mom to the appointment. And then when another sister stepped in to help us care for Mom a few weeks later, he also had to communicate with her. He has been professional, a great communicator and caring the whole time. We really appreciate him, and I have since shared his contact information with 2 of my friends who were looking for an ENT. Mahalo plenty to Dr. Regala and his staff!! read more

I was referred to this Dr. You can never get them on the phone. Always a recording. Leave a message, never get called back. Never met this Dr. But if this is a indication of his service, he sucks. This guys sucks. One of the worst doctors I have ever been to. Only cares about making money for office visits and tests... don't think he actually does anything. 2 months of back and forth... no treatment and won't answer the phone. This guy sucks. My husband when you him and he diagnosed him with a deviated septum and did his surgery. He goes for follow up and the surgery "didn't work" the septum is still deviated. Then totally ghosted us doesn't offer to fix it, still billed us. Had to pay for another doctor at straub to do the surgery again. read more

My dad had a sinus operation done by this doctor. He was expected to have a recovery time of one week. Instead, after a balloon, an ER visit, missing 3 weeks of work, cauterization, not being able to pick up his grandkids, drive or do anything, he is seeing the doctor again today and I'm here to oversee it. My dad is super lenient and very composed. I on the other hand am sick of it. I have had to watch my dad suffer, my grandparents suffer because they're worried about him and my kids suffer because they don't get to see their papa who is always so involved in all of their activities. If it doesn't get fixed today, I told my dad to get a second opinion or go to the ER. This is ridiculous to ask a patient to try to control his own nose bleed, prescribe him a blood thinner and then knowing he's bleeding out tell him you're fully booked and can't see him but will try to squeeze him in if possible. I don't know what else today. Coming from a medical perspective and career and being in school for my degree in a medical field, this is by no way hands down what should be happening. Wish I have seen the reviews before going to this doctor. Felt like the girl at the front desk was annoyed and a bit rude tried to play off being nice but you could clearly tell she was annoyed. When I had met with Dr. Regala I felt very unwelcomed felt rushed even when I tried to express my concerns he came off rude and arrogant. Can't stand people that are in these type of professions that treat their patients this way. Maybe your in the wrong profession if your this negative or don't seem to really care or show concern for your patients. I was so annoyed I wanted to say something(I should have) like can you quit rushing me and let me speak! I would say avoid going to this doctor if you really have concerns that you really want to discuss with a doctor because he ain't got the time for it. He'll give you a piece of paper and say here this is what you have and that's that. read more

This would be about my third visit with Dr Regala and I have to say that I have not had any issue with my provider. I felt like I might of had a sinus infection so I called the office on a Tuesday and I believe I got lucky and got an appointment the very next day or something. I checked in, filled out some paperwork (some time went by since my last visit) to update my file. I went in, saw the doc, told him how i was feeling and he checked me out and I was right. Sinus infection, BOOOOO! However, he wrote me up for some meds, sent me to the front desk where I made my copay and follow up appointment. Then headed downstairs to the little Longs pharmacy to fill my Rx. No more then 15 minutes later, I was on my way back to work, meds on hand, and on my way to recovery! read more

I'm so disappointed with the service the receptionist gave me. I called to re-schedule an appointment for my brother because it was last minute when they let us know there was an opening at 3pm today, but nobody could take him. Anyways, as I was speaking with the receptionist she was very rude and in the middle of the conversation she hangs up on me and didn't even bother to call me back. It is so hard to get in contact with them & I understand that they are really busy but we have been trying to schedule my brother for 2 weeks now and only today they've gotten back to us . not very pleasant,seem rushed not really answering questions. I accompanied my husband with ear ache that has been bothering him for about a month now and just keep on prescribing meds. Unable to sleep, not using cpap due to severe ear ache, told dr he had bronchoscopy done couple months ago is this in relevance, he said oh probably from blowing his nose hard which he had no cold at the time he was admitted to queens for coughing blood. He didn't even look at us while talking it was like I got to go to next patient. read more

I've seen Dr. Regala for a few years, and the one major gripe I used to have was that he didn't spend much time with me as a patient. He rushed through questions and answers, and was pretty rough with the nasal scope, but I didn't have much choice but to go see him as my medical insurance doesn't offer a lot of choices for ENTs. A few months back, I had to have surgery on my sinuses with this doctor. Everything in my preop was going fine till the doctor showed up and said the surgery before mine had been canceled, so they rushed me in to surgery (and I do mean RUSHED). I had my surgery and was sent home, still numb and sleepy from pain meds. Two days after surgery, I found myself combing the internet for answers to my questions because the doctor wouldn't take my phone calls! It turns out my throat had been damaged during the surgery by the breathing tube. When I finally got through to the doctors office (after calling every day for 5 days!), I was told, "Well your follow up appointment is next week, so you can see him then." In my follow up appointment, I explained to the doctor what had happened, and how I had tried and tried to reach him through his clinic. His answer was, "Oh well, your okay now." I visited Dr. Regala sometime in May 2015. Till today, I have not been able to get the staff respond to my messages. If you are one who has sleep apnea, there are many dangers without having a CPAP maching, including death. Per my insurance, I need another sleep apnea test since my last one was six years ago. I have not gotten a sleep apnea test since I last saw him and still go back and forth with his staff on getting an appointment to do one. I have gone to the extent to knock on their doors when their message indicates their open for service. No one is in that office! Disappointed client! read more

This Dr was so terrible. His office staff took the crayons away from my kids, and made me feel unwelcome. Then, the Dr seemed extremely uneasy and not very confident. When he scoped my sinuses, it was more painful than I ever ever imagined, and when I told him how much pain I was in, he stopped completely and didn't know what to do next...I have since changed doctors, and the new Dr scoped me painlessly, explains everything to me with confidence, and d Knows what he's doing. I would not recommend Dr regala to anyone I cared about. Oh, and not only was his office ride, but he ordered the wrong test for my CT scan and no one at his office seemed to notice...and, when I called to get my allergy test results, they wouldn't tell me what I was allergic to, they said to get that answer I had to talk to my primary care physician...eventhough THEY were the ones who did the test!
