My children have been coming to this dental group for many years. The appointment waiting period…read morewas often horrendous but staff was typically very professional. When the Seaside office closed, all the families living on the Peninsula were forced to travel to Salinas. This was not always convenient. I am a single mom of three, working, going to school full time and recently deemed disabled. My doctors appointments began to multiply and I had to take time off work, resulting in late payments of rent and bills, and had no family in the area to help me with my children. Unfortunately, getting my three children from Pacific Grove to Salinas was often beyond my abilities due to both finances and my disability. Our insurance is great in that they offer free rides to doctors appointments, however, that still meant additional time missed from work and school and if I were in medical flare up, I was unable to leave my home. This left me with making difficult choices for the whole family which often meant we we're only able to see doctors on an emergency or urgent basis. In the beginning of June I called to schedule an appointment for one of my children to have her teeth cleaned before we moved from the area (to be closer to help). The woman I spoke with on the phone was anything but helpful. In a tone reserved for those who have somehow wronged another, she reminded me of all our cancelled or rescheduled appointments. It was as though she took our absence personal and felt the need to make me feel like an even bigger failure for not taking care of my children's oral health. Even though my daughter was still under the accepted patient age, she refused to schedule her for a cleaning because "the whole practice has decided to not allow it". As a disabled mother, the way this staff member treated me, and repeatedly implied I am not properly taking care of my children, was heartbreaking. I hope she never makes another parent feel as low as I did on that day. Even if we hadn't moved, I would have taken my children elsewhere - a different county if I had to - if it meant never supporting this practice again. Shaming a parent for doing their best (even if it doesn't look like it from your end) is never an appropriate, much less professional, way to conduct oneself or business.

I should've left this review years ago but today I learned that the Dentists continue to verbally…read moreabuse and behave aggressively towards the children. 21 years later and they continue to take advantage of their patients. This is my story but there are other horror stories from people in my surrounding communities. Monterey, Seaside, and Salinas. Central Coast Pediatric Dental Group is the reason for my trauma. It took me years and years to recover from it. My mother brought me here for Sedation when I was 4 years old in 2005 and had ALL my teeth covered in silver caps. I was given a small cup with a liquid solution to drink before the procedure and according to my mother they had me waiting for a while because Dr. Murillo was helping other patients. While I waited for them to be ready my relaxer was wearing off and my mother was starting to get worried that it would have no effect on me. Dr. Murillo behaved very unprofessionally and shouted at my mother for expressing her concerns. When they took me to the back they put me on a papoose board and I felt every part of the procedure and began to cry because it was excruciatingly painful. I was in so much pain and discomfort and one of the Dentist's shouted at me and said "Be quiet!"and would cover my mouth with their hands to keep me quiet. They rolled me out on a wheelchair through the back door and all I remember is heavily crying and feeling terrified. 2 years ago my niece went in for sedation and said to me "aunty they were so mean to me". I had Flashbacks and knew she wasn't lying to me because I lived through that. The truth has come to light and I am here to be the voice of those children and their families. There are many stories about this place on yelp and Google reviews. Please do not bring your kids to this horrific place.

At one point one of the tools he was using for my filling popped out and without a warning he shoved it back in and it was so painful, then the doctor didn't numb me enough and i could feel all the drilling being done the pain was excruciating. Then I heard the dental hygienist make an unprofessional comment like was she not aware that I was very much awake and hearing??? Would NOT recommend for your children.

I had a terrible experience at Harden Dentistry in Salinas back in 2022. I went in with what I…read morebelieved was a tooth infection, and instead of prescribing antibiotics or properly treating it, the dentist told me it would "go away on its own." Unfortunately, it didn't. The infection got worse, and when I later went in expecting a root canal, they instead decided to extract my tooth. What made the situation even more upsetting was how pressured I felt during the appointment. I told them I wanted to leave and think about it, but multiple staff members surrounded my chair insisting I sign paperwork giving permission for the extraction. I felt cornered and extremely uncomfortable. The woman at the front desk was also rude and dismissive about the situation, which only added to the stress and anxiety I was already feeling. To make matters worse, the dentist couldn't even fully remove the tooth, leaving me with half a tooth still in my mouth for two days before I was able to see a specialist who removed what remained of the tooth. It was painful, stressful, and honestly one of the worst dental experiences I've ever had. Which has also lead to fear of the dentist. Now, years later, I'm still dealing with the consequences of losing that tooth. I don't have the luxury of dental insurance to help cover the cost of replacing it, and it has caused me ongoing issues that could have possibly been avoided if I had been treated properly from the beginning. This experience happened in 2022, so hopefully things have improved since then, but based on my experience and from people I know who've had similar experiences, I personally would not return or recommend this office.

They did not even care that my mom had to take medication the day before for the appointment. Nor did they care that I had to take time off work to drive my mom to this appointment. They were more concerned about taking lunch that is why the doctor cannot take her even if she had an appointment and was on time for it. I would not recommend this dental office solely for this experience.
