Immediately we began shopping around for a new tank, which soon landed us in the aisle of our local Home Depot store. ((After an unfortunate 2022 Home Depot installation experience, we vowed not to use their installer services again, so this time around we only purchased our new Rheem heater from them and had to find a plumber willing to install a customer-bought tank. Easier said than done.)) As it turned out we were lucky enough to learn of Joe V. from Persistent plumbing through a referral. From the start, we found working with Joe super easy in that he returned my initial call within the same day and also gave us a courtesy call to inform us he'd be running about 15 minutes late on installation day. He was flexible and able to quickly schedule us in just a few days out. Upon arrival, we found Joe to be friendly, and also accommodated all our requests. He worked very neatly, including removing both the new large box and the old heater unit. ((Big plus!!)) The whole install process appeared to go smooth and quickly and we found Persistent Plumbing's pricing to be very fair. I put in a service request through my home warranty company and was assigned to Upright Plumbing. Dallen called bright and early the next day and was able to come by a few hours later. He was able to answer all my questions about getting a replacement water heater thoroughly. A few hours of work and we had a brand spankin' new Ruud water heater all nicely hooked up with accompanying drip pan. Dallen was upfront about any extra costs and was very professional about the whole job. With our new water heater so far so good! I'm glad I didn't have to resort to taking cold showers this week. For example a device that is required by law to filter out impurities in the natural gas supply that cause a water heater to develop problems and fail earlier than normal. Let's just say that his responses were not adequate to assure me that I wouldn't have problems in the future with his work performance. I again personally would not recommend him. Scott is arrogant IMO. Gave me a good quote but then couldn't get the unit he pitched and didn't want to install it per code. He then offered to get a different brand but when I asked model# he reneged and said I should call the supplier myself. When I questioned this he went silent. Way too erratic for me. If you have AC needs, a home warranty, or both, skip K&K…read more I had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with K&K during a home warranty AC service call. The system was diagnosed as having low refrigerant and likely a significant leak, with poor cooling performance and a very low temperature differential. The report recommended full system replacement. While those findings can indicate a serious issue, the recommendation to replace the entire system was made without documenting the actual leak location, performing a leak isolation test, or clearly identifying which component had failed. When I called the office for clarification, I spoke with Danny, who became defensive when I asked questions about the diagnosis and why repair options were not being considered. During that conversation, he told me to "stop acting so crazy" simply for asking for clarification on the findings, which was unprofessional and inappropriate. Danny was also confused regarding the home warranty process (see attached invoice from K&K) including statements that I would need to pay K&K directly, which contradicts the home warranty company. For context, I obtained a second opinion from another licensed HVAC company, which recommended a more measured approach including leak testing, refrigerant recharge, and evaluation of individual components before considering full system replacement. At a minimum, I would expect clear documentation of diagnostic steps, confirmation of failure points, and professional communication when recommending a major system replacement. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise other homeowners with home warranty coverage to get a second opinion before approving full HVAC system replacement recommendations from this company. In both instances, K&K Heating and Air were super responsive, communicative and professional. I felt that they were very honest with me and their pricing was very fair. I received estimates from two other companies before installing my first unit and K&K came in price favorable compared to the other two companies. So it was a no brainer to contact them when choosing to replace my other AC unit. Everyone that I have interacted with at K&K has been fantastic. I feel blessed to have found an HVAC company with honest, competant, professional employees. Great quality, great service, great value. Fully recommend!
