We always receive excellent service here. Servers are knowledgeable and attentive. The food is delicious and always well presented. The restaurant is modernly decorated and clean.

I have driven past this hard to notice little dining place. Now I'm obligated to return for lunch. Dinner was so well put together lunch has to be great and paired with a cost that my wallet will be much happier with. I have always wanted to compare fine quality sushi to what I normally get "buffet" sushi WOW the difference is amazing. The service is top notch . We tried the misawa imperial and I would have found fault with the price but the quality of everything explained the cost.

This has become one of my favorite places to get sushi. I don't get to come here often but when I do, it is always excellent. It was my boyfriend's first time there. We ordered the house salad, Kani (squid) salad, and a seaweed salad along with six rolls. My boyfriend's favorite sushi roll was Redbull. The steak was nicely torched and cut thinly so it was the perfect portion. The sauces were perfectly complementary. In fact, we enjoyed all of the rolls that we ordered which doesn't happen often. The Kani salad was something I don't usually order but I was highly impressed. I love squid but there are times I am afraid they would be overcooked so I'm weary to order it at times. I was pleasantly surprised how tender the squid was cooked and prepared. The sauce in the salad was in was very flavorful. It became one of my favorite parts of our meal, too bad I forgot to take a picture of it because we quickly devoured it. I ordered our seaweed salad to go, so I could enjoy it at home. It wasn't crowded in the restaurant. We came at dinner time on a Monday, there were a few other tables of people there. We were sat right away and our server kindly greeted us shortly. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. We felt very comfortable. Our server Cha was excellent as well, and was kind and friendly, courteous, and also prompt, and efficient. My boyfriend's birthday was coming up and our server surprised us with a special dessert, which was the tempura cheesecake. The batter was light and airy and the cheesecake delicious. My boyfriend and I often eat out and we must say this was one of favorite dining experiences! We took about three rolls home because we got full from the salads. His niece didn't come with us and likes sushi as well so we planned on bringing her some. We brought home the leftover rolls and she finished all of the rolls by herself in an instant. That's how much she enjoyed it as well. She will be joining us next time we go.

We had a superb dinner tonight at Misawa. To be quiet honest, I didn't know this place existed until today. It's located off Bardstown Rd in Fern Creek so battling that traffic isn't very fun. The place is very cozy and inviting inside. There's not many tables so it's a good idea to make reservations ahead of time like we did. I started the evening with a house salad which was so fresh and delicious. I saw that the goyza came highly recommended so I order that as an appetizer to share. It came as a surprise to me that even my 3 year old loved it. His meal of fried rice and shrimp was a little on the salty side with too much sauce. He likes his food pretty plain Jane. I got the perfect combination roll and was very impressed by the flavors and sauces. The service was so nice and friendly. Just a top notch experience all around. I would highly recommend for a nice evening out.

Really nice restaurant near Gene Snyder off Bardstown road. Stopped in for a late lunch and had a roll and Chicken Hibachi. Food came out quickly and was really good. Only two customers at 2:15 in the afternoon. Server disappeared after food came out but I did get a refill on my tea.

Misawa is a sushi establishment located in fern creek right off Bardstown road tucked in a shopping center next to kohls dept store. Very tiny establishment on the inside. We Arrived today with my wife, oldest daughter and her best friend. The menu is decent sized so we took a few minutes and carefully picked out our orders. Service was fast and solid. We started with a tempura calamari. It was was a bit over cooked but still solid. Not as good as other tempura calamari we have had. We got 5 different sushi's rolls. We got Pacific heat, miss veedol, playboy, Cali cream and faithful. Faithful was my favorite tasting one followed by the moss veedol. But they were all pretty solid. Overall nice intimate place with good sushi and solid pricing. Total was only just over $60. So not bad at all for a sushi establishment. Calamari not the greatest but outside of that we had a good time and experience. I'm sure we will come back eventually.

We live this place when we leave our waitress says see you next time. She's knows we will be back. I love sushi rolls and the hibachi, the bowls. You don't have to check it out so it can stay a secret.

If you are craving sushi rolls, be sure to visit Misawa. Located in Bardstown Road, the family-owned restaurant offers quality sushi rolls at a reasonable price. As you enter the place you can definitely feel the unique and modern ambience of the restaurant. Unlike its competitors, Misawa positions itself to be a contemporary and upscale, yet still casual, American-Japanese restaurant. My go-to sushi order is the Miss Veedol roll. It has a generous serving of spicy crab and tempura, then topped with salmon and drizzled with eel sauce and spicy mayo. The flavors work so well together. Our server Joanna also recommended the Derby roll, and I ended up loving the dish too! The seared scallop is the perfect addition to the roll, as the smokey taste from the seared side of the scallop complemented the delicate freshness of the scallop and shrimp. For the third roll, we decided to try a deep-fried roll. Their Sunday Morning roll is a spin on the staple deep-fried sushi roll-- it still has cream cheese, but with salmon replacing the usual spicy crab inside. For dessert, the sweet staff greeted my husband Happy Birthday with an equally beautiful and scrumptious tempura cheesecake! For date night, family lunch, catch up with friends, and anything in between-- go ahead and visit this place. Misawa definitely has our heart.

What is the perfect meal on a cold, snowy day? Ramen. I don't find myself in Fern Creek often, but I wanted to check Misawa out after hearing a lot of great things about it. While a big portion of their menu is sushi, they do have a lot of other things to choose from as well. With a few types of ramen on the list, I went with the miso tonkotsu ramen and it was soooo good! This is a great place to dine in at too, as the inside is really nice. The staff here are incredibly friendly as well. We were already planning on what we were going to order next time when we go back!

Misawa is a very good Sushi/Hibachi style restaurant located just moments from a very popular Japanese sushi establishment well known to the area. I was a bit skeptical of trying something new but decided to give it a go after seeing the wait times at the alternative. We were quickly seated, orders taken and served. The wait staff was super friendly, even asking for any recommendations to improve ours or other customers experience. I opted for the teriyaki salmon hibachi dinner and a couple sushi rolls. The salmon was cooked to perfection and paired with the fried rice and vegetables, tasted wonderful. While everything was delicious, the prices seemed a little high on sushi and thus docked a star based on such. All in all, Misawa is a great dining experience that could very well consume some of the business from nearby sushi establishments.

I've been going to Samurai for date nights and friend dinners for years and every roll is huge and fresh, and I always have great service. Good sushi is hard to find in land locked Kentucky! Samurai must have great sources for their fish because the freshness is very apparent, every time I go. Favorite rolls: Mark's Roll, Happy Sunday, Texas Roll, Barbie's Favorite, Sakura Roll, and Midnight Roll but truthfully, you cannot go wrong. We heard the story of our favorite roll! The Mark's roll was named after a very kind soul that was a friend of the restaurant that sadly passed away. He loved spicy food and was the light of the room, so the fried jalalpeno and flaming plate make the perfect homage to him. The love and care Samurai has for their customers and the community is unmatched! Come cute with 15 people, or in your pajamas with your bestie. The atmosphere is very welcoming; casual but romantic still. Either way come ready to EAT!

I won't be back--and I wouldn't recommend it…read more I ordered their best available Cabernet . The first glass was good, I understand this is not a wine bar so no complaints. The second was completely off--overripe, heavy blackberry notes, clearly oxidized and not the same quality wine. This is what happens when a bottle has been open too long. When I pointed it out, instead of addressing it professionally, the server repeatedly insisted it was from the same bottle and argued with me. That's not just poor service--that's dismissive and borderline insulting. I wasn't trying to get out of paying. I explicitly said I would pay for the glass and not drink it--which I did. I left the full glass on the table. At that point, the appropriate response would have been to move on. Instead, the argument continued. For context, I spent 22 years in the wine and spirits industry. I know the difference--but frankly, anyone could have smelled and tasted how off that wine was. I still paid and tipped 20%, but the issue isn't the charge--it's the way this was handled. Arguing with a customer instead of listening is unacceptable. Do better.

We were sat and immediately told everything would be 15% off today, and if we spent $50 we would get to draw from a price bucket and $100 would allow us to spin a wheel. The restaurant was clean and despite being packed it wasn't loud. I really appreciate the individual lights at each table, these almost 30 year old eyes need to be able to read the menu. Speaking of menu, this menu is extensive. It took us a while to choose but we settled on chicken hibachi, pork belly Ramen, OMG roll and another sushi roll my partner ordered. As we waited for our food, we noticed how cheerful everyone working at this restaurant was. Laughter and smiles filled the air and I couldn't help but join in. I told my partner I've never had such friendly servers. They worked together re filling our waters and bringing out our food. The sushi was delicious, I'm new to sushi so I don't have much to compare it too, but, my partner said it was the best he had ever had. The ramen broth was packed with flavor but, I wasn't fan of the pork belly (too tough for me). The chicken hibachi was good, maybe not the best I've ever had but 4/5 stars. At the end of our meal, we were able to draw from a price bucket, I won a free appetizer for next time. She gave me a pen to take home and said if you sign up for emails you get 20% off your next meal (sounds pretty good to me) I really enjoyed this dinner experience, the staff were so positive and friendly and the food was pretty tasty. It was really nice receiving 15% off our check. I do reccomend this restaurant for anybody who love sushi!

Service is always good, the ambiance is a bit bland. And frankly, none of these extraneous considerations matter to me! When I go out for sushi, I just want it to be plentiful and delicious. For reasons I have yet to contemplate and unpack, I don't really look at ordering sushi as a fine-dining experience where the service and the venue and the decor and the menu diversity all factor in much. To me, either your sushi rolls are top-notch or they're not. And by this rubric, Oishii is unrivaled in Louisville, KY. One can argue that Sapporo's happy hour is a better value, or that the Dragon King's Daughter's bento box is the best bang for your buck sushi lunch. But no one can accurately claim to have better sushi than Oishii. Here are my ratings for rolls I have tried: Koi 9 Highlander 8.5 Hot 8.5 Aloha 8 Crazy Eel 8 Zen 8 2in1 7.5 Hawaiian 7.5 Volcano 7 Lieutenant 7 Big Daddy 7 Sunset 7 Derby 6 Spicy Tuna 6 Spicy Salmon 5 I also appreciate that Oishii isn't stingy with their pickled ginger.
