wow. this place is amazing! I came here for dinner on a weekday, had no issues being sat immediately. They have a happy hour from 3-5:30pm in weekdays. I keep coming here and have to say this place is one of the most inconsistent spots in the city of Louisville. Sometimes, it is so amazing that I come back gladly, other times, it's just ok and I'm like, why do I keep coming back? (probably because other times the food is so good). The food that we got there was ok except for the bulgogi buns, which were delicious, in fact, they were so much so, that i got some to go. Sadly, they did not make it into my to-go order bag. And I didn't notice until I got home. The food: erm... not so much. I ordered the vegan shoyu ramen (not on the menu but available) and it arrived with shirataki noodles rather than typical ramen noodles (fine but not as nice). Also, when I asked if I could substitute something for the egg our server recommended spinach; when the bill arrived there was an added charge so the spinach was not a substitution but rather an addition. A more global issue however was the temperature situation. Half our orders were delivered cold, while the other half were lukewarm. Nothing was hot, and cold ramen is significantly less delicious. The flavor of the vegan ramen was good, so this hasn't changed, however the execution and temperature left much to be desired. read more

The sauce was everything. My wife had their spicy miso ramen. It was okay. To me it tasted a little earthy but okay nonetheless. Our dining experience was great. We did have to wait in line to be seated. When we arrived, around 7 PM and the place was busy. We did not have to wait too long. They have a downstairs and upstairs with spacious seating. I'm coming up on 15 years of living in Louisville, and Ramen House will forever live in my heart as the first ramen-focused spot in the city to do it right. There had been other spots prior to them opening where you could get a lovely taste (in my mind, most notably, Milkwood, may it rest in peace), and there have been other good spots that have opened since Ramen House set up shop, but there had been a painfully long period when dedicated ramen places would open up only to disappoint. I'm so pleased that the community has embraced Ramen House -- there is almost always a queue inside Mid-City Mall. Michael and I surely don't come here quite as often as we should, but that makes us extra pleased with ourselves when we do make it over here. We never get anything but the soup -- our bellies just aren't big enough to supplement, and Michael refuses to share a bowl. She wants her own. I've heard the news that they are going to be leaving Mid-City Mall soon in favor of a location nearby. I hope they can do so without changing either the menu or the vibe.
