    Spicy Garlic Edamame
    Ashley A.

wow. this place is amazing! I came here for dinner on a weekday, had no issues being sat immediately. They have a happy hour from 3-5:30pm in weekdays. I tried the spicy garlic edamame and the spicy miso tonkatsu ramen, both were very delicious and flavorful. I found it to be the perfect amount of spice without taking over the dish. The service was friendly and the restaurant isn't overcrowded. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I found the anime theme of their decor very on par with the experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall I found their food very satisfying and look forward to coming back for my next ramen fix!

I keep coming here and have to say this place is one of the most inconsistent spots in the city of Louisville. Sometimes, it is so amazing that I come back gladly, other times, it's just ok and I'm like, why do I keep coming back? (probably because other times the food is so good). The food that we got there was ok except for the bulgogi buns, which were delicious, in fact, they were so much so, that i got some to go. Sadly, they did not make it into my to-go order bag. And I didn't notice until I got home. The waitress was very nice, but halfway through our meal, and more than an hour before they closed, they started putting the chairs on the tables and on the bar... it made me wonder if we needed to leave...there were other customers who were still eating and it just didn't seem very friendly to start shutting down before we finished our meal...when we left, the downstairs was still full of customers, so it wasn't like they were trying to close early. Then they got our to-go order mixed up, they fixed it, but when I got home I was shocked to see that I paid $4.50 for four very small pieces of chicken to go on the chicken curry... plus the forgotten bulgogi buns... So, today wasn't the best... I'll probably go back, but maybe not.

We dined at Ramen House for lunch, I love how close it is from downtown Louisville. Also, they have a parking lot, as well as, on street parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you enter, there is a small welcome area. We were greeted immediately and led to a table near the front.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a smaller restaurant but lots of smaller tables spread throughout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was excellent and very polite. We didn't start with any appetizers but ordered the veggie Bi Bim Bop and spicy pork tonsuku ramen. Food arrived quickly and was just as we ordered. I wish the spicy tonsuku was a bit more spicy but it was delicious and very filling. I'm excited to go back with the family and try other items.

Super excited to try Ramen House again after they moved locations! I clearly wasn't the only one, the doors opened at 12 and you'd think they had free food! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was extremely busy minutes after opening![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a cute interior decorated with anime and lovely aspects of culture.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is ready as soon as they open! Super kind and attentive, the appetizers come out fast, and they will not let your cup become empty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is an upstairs section, not pictured, which is probably just as clean and comfortable as the first floor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My favorite is the Tonkatsu with pork. AH-MAZING! The pork is so tender and juicy even outside of being in a savory broth. The egg is perfectly soft boiled and has a yummy center! The noodles just are the icing on the cake. There's not one bad thing I can say about my experiences at Ramen House. I would try another dish if I was not so obsessed with the first thing I ever ordered there. If you're in the market for a warm meal this winter consider coming to Ramen House. It will be hard to return to your boiled water ramen after you devour the magic made in these bowls.

I wanted to love this place. We did enjoy the gyoza & chicken Bulgogi buns. Great flavors on both. I think we both ordered something we weren't sure on. So we can't give our feedback on that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall we had a nice quiet lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely give this place a try.

Great location with parking!!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Low key and chill atmosphere inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Greeted right away when we walked and was sat down. Funny part is I like ramen but ordered everything g but that on the menu! Next time! Started of with spicy garlic edamame. Tried the gyoza and pork belly buns! All amazing!!! The buns were so soft with the tiniest bit of crispy on the outside. I had a chicken chashu rice bowl. Highly recommend everything I tried!! I am definitely coming back for ramen next time!!!

The food was so delicious we forgot to take photos of what we ordered. But everything was delicious! You scan the QR code on the napkin holder on your table to see the menu. Their happy hour gives some great deals. Service was good. Your check arrives inside a manga. We will definitely be back!!

Huh. This was my first time at the new location, and I was less impressed than I expected to be, especially based on my previous experiences. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space: quite lovely. Lots of dark wood, plenty of seating, movable tables to allow for smaller and larger groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service: very good. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. The food: erm... not so much. I ordered the vegan shoyu ramen (not on the menu but available) and it arrived with shirataki noodles rather than typical ramen noodles (fine but not as nice). Also, when I asked if I could substitute something for the egg our server recommended spinach; when the bill arrived there was an added charge so the spinach was not a substitution but rather an addition. A more global issue however was the temperature situation. Half our orders were delivered cold, while the other half were lukewarm. Nothing was hot, and cold ramen is significantly less delicious. The flavor of the vegan ramen was good, so this hasn't changed, however the execution and temperature left much to be desired.

my boyfriend and i have gone to ramen house for a date before, but we celebrated our anniversary there just because it's so yummy and filling. we live in etown and make the drive when we crave some ramen. service is typically speedy and always friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]i enjoy the vibes of the restaurant every time[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Spicy Bulgogi Buns (2 pc)

I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in and were seated immediately. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Bulgogi Buns, they were tasty, I wish they came with 3 buns instead of 2. For entrees I ordered the Spicy Chicken Miso and my partner ordered the Spicy Miso Tonkotsu. My ramen was solid, the chicken was really tasty. The miso chicken broth didn't have as much depth as I'm use to when ordering ramen at a restaurant. My partner enjoyed his ramen but also pointed out it wasn't his favorite in the city. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We really enjoyed the decor around the restaurant, they stick your check in a manga book.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also to note, they have a food challenge, if you finish the ginormous bowl of ramen, you get your picture on the wall and don't have to pay the $50. A man attempted while we were eating and tapped out at 19 mins, he was blowing on the ramen the entire time to cool it down.

    The behemoth challenge
    Todd M.

I'm doing the noodle challenge right now and I have to say the noodles have no flavor the smell of the bowl smells as if it has soap on it still the water should be full of flavor but it's bland and has no seasoning at all literally can stand the smell of the food to eat it feels like it was thrown together and barely cooked or just someone doesn't know how to cook food taste like I'm licking a mop and I don't ever gripe if this is food someone needs to adjust the menu fr sorry i truly did not enjoy the meal

Very good! We got seated right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their new location is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The beef bulgogi. Is so good! My two little shared one ramen bowl.

Kiwami comes pretty close to meeting my criteria. Quality: yes. 100%. Excellent ingredients, tasteful decor, sturdy serving bowls, whimsical ladles for slurping broth. Weird that the chopsticks are disposable while other utensils are not. Variety: erm. Yes for people who are not plant-based. I would love to see additional vegan options in all entree categories (tofu poke bowl, please). The veggie ramen was fabulous as was the edamame. Just more. Taste: A+. The broth was complex and glorious, the kale noodles lovely, the toppings (brussels spouts, broccoli, tofu, avocado) all prepared and seasoned perfectly. Temperature: yes. Nice and hot. Perfect. Texture: noodles were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of chew, however toppings were all pretty homogenous in texture. The raw greens on top were a little strange. It would have been nice to have a crispy or crunchy element. Value: I mean, Kiwami is a ramen place on Bardstown Road. I didn't expect a deal. I paid $20 for a bowl of ramen plus tip. Not ridiculous, but also not a price that allows me to visit as often as I would like. Overall, Kiwami has earned my respect and likely repeat business, especially if they add more vegan options and offer a repeat customer discount.

Both were very fresh and delicious. My entree was the Kiwami Shiro (pork broth, scallion, mushroom, bamboo, egg, pulled pork, sliced pork, noodles). I think my cocktail was called the Tokyo Pop? Not positive but you have to get it. Gin, bubbles, sake, and a hint of lemon in a flute glass. Refreshing, a hint of sweet, a hint of lemon, and extremely drinkable. It would be too easy to throw a ton of these back. But I was demure and had one. I enjoyed the calamari--my go-to here. Crispy, with a bit of heat from pickled peppers, a bit a of sweet form a sweet glaze, and a nice herby zing from mint, herbs, and scallions. They also top the calamari with a a nice portion of greens dressed in a lemon vinaigrette, making this appetizer feel close to a light meal. I am absolutely obsessed with the ponzu mayo that comes on the side. An absolutely delightful touch. I also enjoyed the chocolate cream pot. Talk about decadent. I love that it is served with berries, because you need that tartness to balance out the richness. Fully indulgent. Bonus points: I working fireplace. (And holiday decor still up--this never bothers me.) The ambiance is always lovely, with something iconic on the TV always playing. This spot is one of my fave representation of the Louisville food scene.
