Now they force arbitration for disputes or refuse to see you. That is fine but they should notify pts of that before the appointment. I was an established pt and took off time from work to go to an appointment. When I show up they said I had to sign an arbitration form to be seen. I was informed if I dont sign I will not be seen. They did have me complete other forms online in advance but conveniently did not include the arbitration form. Plus this arbitration states it is retroactive even for visits prior to signing the form. Not even sure that is legal. read more

I don't often leave yelp reviews but absolutely had to write about my recent experience with Dr. Misha Heller. I first came to see Dr. Misha to have a papilloma removed from my lower eyelid. Although I was nervous given the location of the growth, she excised it expertly and there is absolutely no scar or mark. The whole process took only a few minutes but has had a huge impact on me both in terms of confidence/appearance as well as improving my vision (which had been impacted by the papilloma). While at her office, I made another appointment to have the CO2 laser skin resurfacing done (scheduled for about a month later). For anyone considering laser treatment, do not hesitate, Dr. Misha is absolutely the best! Dr. Misha and her staff were incredibly professional throughout the procedure. Dr. Misha explained what was going to happen, demonstrated the process, explained the aftercare and offered ample time for questions. She explained her plan for different areas of my face and what to expect. Suffice to say I could not be happier with the results. The recovery time was about 5 or 6 days. I scheduled it for a Monday evening and was back to work the following Monday. The results are astonishing - all the fine lines and wrinkles in my forehead as well as wrinkles around my eyes have completely disappeared! I look 5-10 years younger. I have received compliments not only from family who knew I had the procedure but also from colleagues at work and friends who had no idea. I am so happy to have found Dr. Misha. I came in with an infected cyst that was swollen and painful to the touch. It had become infected over a holiday weekend so I showed up Tuesday morning with no appointment, I had never been there before, and I had no insurance. Dropped my wife off for a routine skin scan with Dr. Misha Heller last December. Everything looked good, but Allison asked her about a mole on her side. Dr. Heller said it looked benign. No need for further tests or follow up. She offered to remove it and Allison said fine. Now the problem: without letting her know or getting her authorization, Dr. Heller sent a specimen to a dermatologist, Dr. Scott Binder. A month later we got a bill for $692 from Dr. Binder. He actually submitted two claims or "encounters" which makes no sense. We have been going back and forth on this excessive live claim with his billing office and our insurance, CIGNA. We called Dr. Heller's office and expressed our concerns. They said there was not much they could do. Very unfortunate. This has little o do with Dr. Heller's expertise and more to do with the questionable billing practices of some people in this profession. read more

Been coming here for years out of location convenience but I'm ready to move on. Dr Misha is super friendly and all, always polite to start. I started seeing her because I felt like her dad always rushed me through my appointments and got annoyed when I asked questions. My first apt with her was for a one off situation, which she took care of, no problems. second, for an exam. There were a few issues I brought up to her, one in particular that I felt she kind of dismissed as nothing. She did a quick treatment on it and I had issues with it ever since. When I went for a follow up she said it was something else (not what she said the first time) which was a bit frustrating. Kind of felt like maybe she didn't want to deal with it the first time around because she was in a rush. I totally get being busy and having to work efficiently but I just never feel like they take their time here. For that reason I'm just going to search for someone who can listen to all of my concerns and just spend a few extra minutes with me to reassure me and make sure I get the right treatment the first time around. Mostly everyone in the office is super friendly and it's clean, if you're okay with Apts lasting for 3-5 minutes and don't need to ask questions then you shouldn't mind it. read more

Dr. Heller is pretty amazing. I recently had C02 Laser Treatment done on my face in October and my results have been amazing. This treatment has made my skin feel and look so much better. Best dermatologist ever! I've been seeing Dr. Misha Heller for several years now for adult acne and discoloration (which is especially challenging given my darker complexion). She is very knowledgeable, super kind and patient as I'm always worried about complications. When I did have a post procedure (microneedling and RFA) question, she was also very quick to discuss it with me. I also think one of the most unique and best things is how she never tries to upsell you with expensive products and procedures and will not only talk you out of them (especially if they're not good options for you) but also give you drug store recs to meet your needs. I've also recently started getting Botox with her and she has a great hand that makes you look better with fewer units (and has a great price too!). Here are a few examples of my excellent experience. On time appointment, the office shows efficiency in honoring patients time. Friendly reception, warm greeting with a professional attitude. The overall décor of the office makes you think someone cares about details. I'm going to leave a review for both Father and daughter as they have both left an impression on us! After two previous dermatologists the Heller's were our third opinion on a mole my son has on his scalp. With my family history of melanoma and his young age I wanted someone with an experienced eye to give us advice on his mole and we got exactly what our guts were looking for and more. Now days you go on yelp or google to find reviews and dermatology can be tricky as most of what comes up is cosmetics those are typically the ones people first go see are those high rated dermatologists who are very good with cosmetics. Even as a nurse practitioner myself we have a hard time finding good dermatologists to refer our patients to that are both good at skin which is the bulk of our referrals and then lastly cosmetics. I was so impressed with the way these two work together and the fact that his daughter works along side him tells you a lot about her respect towards her Father who she quotes "is an amazing surgeon" which was why I chose them after doing a very thorough research to find them. Your first choices on google or yelp are the cosmetic centers but if your needing a great derm for legit skin issues well, then they are your people not only amazing at what they do but extremely friendly, personable (all the staff), and very professional! I couldn't have been more pleased with them. My son is only 4 and his mole is on his scalp which makes a bit more tricky, we left the office with not one tear from him! Misha MD played his favorite movie lightening McQueen for him and both herself and her MA sang to him "life is a highway" making his experience that less traumatic! This family practice is a hidden gem we will be bringing our whole family here and will be referring our patients to them this was an amazing experience they go above and beyond what is asked from them and for that I am extremely grateful! I have been a patient of Doctor Heller for over a year and have continuously received terrible patient care and customer service. When I first visited Doctor Misha Heller I was pushed to go on acutane relentlessly even though I had thoroughly explained my hesitations about going back on this pill. I was given another medication and everything seemed to level out. A few months later, I reached back out to doctor Heller's office to discuss going on Accutane as my acne had not gone away fully. Besides dealing with the terrible reception staff who is disingenuous and extremely passive while on the phone I was able to meet with doctor Heller for all of 10 minutes for a consult where she basically wrote me a prescription for the acutane and left. Being a female patient on acutane there is a 30 day wait period before I am able to get my blood drawn and prescription for the pill. I gave them my previous patient id number and dermatologist's office number for any questions they may have when setting me up in their system. Weeks went by and no one reached out to tell me my window of time I was able to get my blood drawn. I took it upon myself to call doctor Heller's office to see what my window was and the PA told me my previous dermatologist was no longer practicing and she could not get the information she needed for my account. I found that odd as I was on the other line with her when I called Doctor Heller's office. I come to find out she had never called my old dermatologist. While I found that extremely irritating and unprofessional, asked her to enter me in the system as a new patient based on her recommendation. This would be another 30 days I now had to wait. Today, when I decided to call and check up today to see when my new window would be, as it is clearly is too difficult for them to call me...even though they continuously said they would on our last phone call. I was met with great disappointment and anger when they had once again forgot to put me in the system. What was the most frustrating was when Teri, the women on the phone accused me of not doing "my part" in this process, which was coming in for my first initial appointment. She was apologetic when I informed her that I did in fact come in over a month ago to set this up and called numerous time. I am writing this in efforts to inform any new patient of Heller dermatology to continuously follow up with them and understand that they do not have your best interest in mind. I am extremely insecure about my acne and was hoping to have this issue resolved or at least started by now. Not only am I now 3 months from my original start date thanks to their negligence I know am driving to Newport Beach from Long Beach to see my old dermatologist again (which I originally left due to the long drive) because I know she will take much better care of me. I recommend anyone looking for a reound dermatologist should see Doctor Reinstadler in Newport or Zena Gabriel. While I am sure Doctor Heller's father did a great job building a loyal clientele in Long Beach, his daughter Misha is ruining that by being so unprofessional. read more
