I LOVE TOFU SOUP! this place was quite busy when we walked in but we were seated immediately. parking was pretty narrow and limited in the adjacent spots but there were so many people i think they just park on the streets and walk, it's not very far. ambiance is cool they had an aquarium for me to stare at. i really liked the both of my beef tofu soup. it was served with purple rice which was pretty cool. we also ordered the rice cakes with ramen noodles and that was actually pretty spicy, spicer than my medium-level spice broth. but super good! the chicken in the combo was delicious and sizzling as well. overall i don't really have anything negative to say. servers were attentive and were more than accommodating to replace one of our items when the lid of the vinegar dispenser flew off and turned my friends cold noodles into vinegar soup essentially. big fan! read more

Whoever said good sondubu is only available in Ktown or BCD?! I always crave sondubu when it's cold, when I'm feeling under the weather, or honestly just in general. This is my go-to spot in the area whenever that craving hits, and I genuinely think it's one of the best. The biggest plus for me is that I don't have to drive to Ktown. This restaurant also has its own parking lot, which is a bonus, but parking around the area in general isn't too hard either. The place is small so it can get busy, but the wait is usually never that bad. The food is really good and tastes homey and comforting. This is a Korean restaurant that I like to go from time to time. They're reasonably priced, and the food is pretty good. Now they have a small tablet on each table where you can place the order yourself. Whenever you need more of the side dishes, you can let any of the servers know. Food is super authentic... honestly tasted better than the tofu soup I tried in Korea. Every order comes with side dishes and there's a station for water or hot barley tea... the kimchi beef tofu soup was so yummy and such a comfort food and the bulgogi was perfectly seasoned and tender so delicious! I ordered the Spicy Tofu soup to go, and it did not disappoint! The spicy was super spicy, and the blood red soup color said it all. A lot of places don't make the soup as spicy, and tone it down. If you're looking for the typical spice, go with medium. I love that it comes with purple rice, and the sides tasted straight from a mom's kitchen in Korea. To be honest, we had never heard of Miso Tofu until we looked up "Korean Tofu" while driving east on the 118, heading back to the San Gabriel Valley. We had a craving and after looking at the pics we decided to try out Miso. We did not expect to find the little shop so packed! And as we waited, car after car pulled up and one occupant would jump out and check how long the wait was. It was pretty obvious this was a regular spot for local Korean families and we knew we would be in for a treat. The server made us feel like one of those regulars as he answered all our questions and guided us to our choices. The room felt cozy and warm and that's exactly how the galbi made us feel too. This was classic Korean food done well and we balanced the warmth out with some spicy cold noodles. We loved it all and it was simply better than the Korean Tofu shops we have around us. I like the food overall but I had some issues with the service, mainly by the main and only older server (not sure if he's related to the owner). The fact that he's always there discourages me from going back and I'm not the only one. I feel rushed to free the table, meaning as soon as I'm done eating, I feel rushed to get up and leave. My family had another situation when the old server actually told us flat out to leave because there were people waiting. Note: we had just finished eating!!! How rude is that?? And another situation when this same old server asked my husband to pay ahead of time because it was getting close to 8:30 pm. The food had just arrived at the table and immediately we were asked to pay. Why should we be touching cash before starting to eat? This server is just unbelievable!!! Clueless, rude, unprofessional, needs to go. He is pushing customers away and it's a shame because I enjoy their food. And recently I felt rushed again by this same server! As I was almost done with my meal , a couple walks in and he tells them that my table will be available soon. Note: there were other empty tables but apparently my table location must have been the best. I cannot stand this server! I had lunch here recently, ordering one of my favorite Korean entrees, Yukgaejang ("Spicy Beef Soup"). I was happy to see it come with purple rice, which I enjoy much more than white. The Yukgaejang among the best I've had recently, with a hearty, spicy broth, and lots of ingredients. My husband ordered Kimchi Kalguksu ("Home-style Noodle Soup"). He said the broth was the right level of spiciness for him, and the noodles were just the right firmness. He wished it had a bit more Kimchi in it and maybe more than one rice cake slice. But, he was happy with what he ate. I've noticed that in most Korean restaurants, the number and amount of Ban Chan has shrunk. We were given only 4 Ban Chan dishes here, and the amount was nowhere near enough for our group of 4. However, they were more than willing to refill Ban Chan when we finished one, so the initial amount given didn't matter. The Ban Chan was tasty, and fresh. Service was good. The restaurant was full when we arrived, so it did take a while to order and get our food, but the wait was relatively short given how busy it was. read more

Get the cold noodles at Miso! I came here for the 3rd time yesterday with my husband and mother-in-law, and we all greatly enjoyed our cold noodles (mul naengmyeon). I prefer the mul naengmyeon to the bibim naengmyeon because it has more of the refreshing broth, but both are good. We also ordered the charcoal grilled pork ribs yesterday, and they were saucy, lightly charred, and sweet/spicy. The banchan is always delicious, and we got hot barley tea instead of ice water. I went for lunch with friends and we were the only white people there. I had some trouble deciding what to get. The menu is huge! I ended up getting the beef soup. First comes pretty purple rice plus little bowls of kimchi and other add ons. One was fish slivers. My beef soup had broth, beef slices, a few noodles and glass noodles. It was good but not magical. With tax and tip it was a $20 bowl of soup! My friends enjoyed theirs more than i did. I was afraid to order many of the dishes that were spicy. Drove by here so many times and finally decided to give it a try today. Food was surprisingly pretty good! I ordered the spicy pork and tofu soup combo and both were pretty delicious. Spicy seafood stir noodle was also delicious too. Seafood tasted fresh and portion was large. I like spicy food so their spicy level was just right for me but if you can't handle spicy food well, you can ask them to make it less spicy. Everything went smoothly until we finished our meal and paid the bill, leaving a 15% tip. As we were about to leave and get into our car, the owner approached us and asked my wife why we hadn't left an 18% tip. I was confused by this interaction as I was busy getting my daughter into her car seat. My wife explained that he was asking for a higher tip. His rude and abrupt demeanor left us feeling uncomfortable, and his comment, "That's fine, whatever," only added to our confusion and sense of being talked down to. We left the restaurant feeling humiliated. While I never want to speak ill of a business, especially during tough times, I will not be returning to this restaurant due to how we were treated. read more

The service is decent: they check on us frequently but I think they need perhaps a couple more staff as they sometimes forget what we asked for so multiple requests need to be made. We found some of the water served need to be recleaned as there were particulates on/in them. However the food is fairly good. Think comfort food. The dumplings are well flavored and they pan fried them until they are nice and crispy. The meats also are very well flavored and tender- we had beef ribs, bulgolgi, and spicy pork. I have been to far louder and robust Korean restaurants so it just seemed odd for the owner to ask us to tone it down.
