We ordered the Beef Combo S ($129.99) and it was just enough for us both to get full but not "overly full" as you normally would get with your regular KBBQ places. They do NOT have an all you can eat/buffet special however the portioning was good and they constantly refill the sauces / rice paper / kimchi etc. The service was friendly & welcoming! It was a cold day and I wanted to try their Budae-Jjigae (army stew), because I've seen other diners order it and it looks amazing. I came here on a Saturday evening and it was bustling. Luckily there was an open table for us so we got seated quickly. There were only two ladies working at the time, so they were busy running around, but we didn't mind waiting. I was busy snacking on the yummy banchan- their kimchi is addicting! We ordered the budae-jjigae and it was enough for at least four people. The stew was filled with cuts of sausage, spam, kimchi, onion, beef, tofu, and a block of ramen noodles. It was placed on the table stove-top so it was constantly boiling. I have been eating at this restaurant for the past 8 years and I highly recommend them. This place is conveniently located in our town and there is absolutely no need to go all the way to K town for good Korean food. I have just had extensive dental implants put in and cannot eat anything besides soft foods like stews and soups. I went there for dinner and ordered the kimchi tofu soup with mushrooms and zucchini and the young lady Michelle was ever so kind to accommodate my request. The meat was pretty good but it was a little awkward inside. This was a surprisingly tasty Korean BBQ find on the border between La Crescenta and La Canada. The telltale sign of a good Asian restaurant is that there are Asians of that country eating there. I wasn't craving kbbq on this night. I just didn't feel like cooking. We ordered the galbitang, hamulpajeon and the bibimbap. The galbitang hit the spot, nice clear broth, plentiful chunks of short rib meat, lots of gristle. The hamulpajeon is one of my favorites. It is light batter with tons of octopus and green onions. I have never written a yelp review, but this place was just that good that I have to take the time to give it my appreciation. This place is hands-down my new favorite Korean barbecue restaurant -- heck it's one of my favorite restaurants of all time! Unlike the typical all-you-can-eat spots, this gem really focuses on the quality of their food, and it shows in every bite. The meat is exceptional -- each cut is tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection (the servers will come to your table and cook for you too!). It's so worth it! And it's not even just the meat that's so good, but all of their complimentary side dishes are so yummy! (not to mention there are unlimited refills on these side dishes :0) AND PLEASE DON'T SLEEP ON THEIR NON-BARBECUE MENU ITEMS!! We got their nangmyun, and it was the PERFECT way to end to my meal. The flavors were delicious and well-balanced; such a refreshing complement to the barbecue. (I even went back to this restaurant to get takeout in the same week and they recommended their spicy black codfish casserole... trust me, you NEED to try this. It is my new favorite korean dish. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of this one :( I must have been too excited to eat!) Also, parking here is SO easy with plenty of free spots, so no need to worry about paying for street parking or valet fees or dealing with the crazy LA traffic. Excellent food, excellent service. Really cool atmosphere . I've been here several times in the last two months and it was a great experience every time. Food - delicious and well-portioned. It also wasn't crazy expensive (sometimes Korean BBBQ can be very pricey) but this was treasonable priced all things considered. And the meat was DEEELICIOUS. Marinated beef was to die for. And you get all the Kimchi/veggie sides that you want. Service - excellent and very nice. We even had the owner/Mngr of the restaurant pop on several times to help us with cutting and grilling meet. She was very nice Atmosphere - love it. Not too loud or crazy. Family friendly actually. It can be a bit more busy on weekend, but honestly, it's just fun and lovely. Love this place. If you like going go Gyu-Kaku you will be disappointed with this place. Walked by on the Friday night and they failed to inform us that they have a set menu. No a la carte ordering. Food: we got the marinated meat combo which did not look marinated at all. Very average, no refill on the appetizers unlike other places that we have been to. They only have chicken thigh & no chicken breast which is a bummer. Shrimp tasted better than all of the other meats. Pricing: $110 set menu for two people is kind of a lot, even though the meat is more than enough for 2-3 people. The $$ on the Yelp page needs some adjusting since it is misleading. Drinks: the hot sake did not give us the slightest buzz at all. Service: was ok, they kept on coming to our table grilling the meat for us regardless of us telling them we like to cook it ourselves. Parking: plenty of free space in the parking lot All in all, this place is very average with higher than average pricing.
