Good customer service. Two different options premium or regular which I prefer regular unless you are fan of special meals. The best time is after lunch hours and before dinner, its getting busy and very noisy. Most likely you will need a shower after the food but its very fun.

My son and I went here for a celebratory dinner, and it was such a great experience! He had so much fun playing chef cooking our meat at our table. The decor was modern, beautiful and inspirational. The staff was so friendly and genuinely cared about our experience. I definitely recommend this place. More than just a meal, it offers a,family experience.

I came for lunch and it was a great experience! It was a weekday so it wasn't busy but that's what I actually prefer-- usually kbbq places get busy and crowded on weekends, long waits, and service not the best. Anyways, everything we ordered came in correctly. Meats flavored well. Fresh crunchy flavorful salad - not soggy and drenched with dressing. Great service - brought the plates out quickly. No complaints!

Supposedly ribeye steaks but with a lot of fat on the edge.

Place was nice and clean. Well arranged seating and not too smoky. Although the all you can eat is good, the prices have gone up with the times. Our server was nice and pleasant. The meat were not as tasty as I would expect, but we were comfortable. Parking structure nearby, free for 90 minutes. No validation.

    So delicious!

Absolutely incredible I was very surprised to even know that I had a really tasty Korean barbecue place right here in Glendale!! I'm so used to driving down to Alhambra or Koreatown for some tasty Korean barbecue and this place did not disappoint!! First of all our waiter, Elijah had incredible energy and kicked off one of the best dinners I've had in a long time and was an incredible server!! He recommended his top four and we instantly went with it, and it was spot on!! Throughout the night, he would come in and check on us and make sure that we were good but allowed us to have great conversation! We ordered the Bulgogi, steak, short rib, beef, belly, and so many more, and every single one seemed to have incredible flavor or some sort of garnish that went with it I'm so used to constantly dipping my meat in oil or salt and this is the first time that I have ever barely touched the side dish All the meat was incredibly delicious!! I would highly recommend this place and I'm definitely coming back!

Gen Korean BBQ serves some great food and at a reasonable price, especially compared to others. At $31 for a weekend price, that's pretty incredible. You get about 30 choices and a bunch of appetizers included. Also comes with rice and salad. Standard Korean BBQ place where you cook your meats and eat. Be careful what you order, though, because if you can't finish it, you get charged $5 for wasting an item. Pretty standard at these places. The ball was really dropped with the service, though. As my wife and I were seated, we waited for a waiter, that never showed up. After about 20 minutes, we pulled a random waiter from another side and asked what the heck was happening. The dude, whose name was Ethan, was very kind and amazing. He took over and helped us with everything we needed. He was a great guy and deserves the recognition, and I hope he gets recognized for going above and beyond. However, apparently we had a girl waiter who was supposed to be our main waiter but instead avoided us and did not assist us. When she was confronted and was told that she basically ignored us and we were upset, her reaction was to look at us and say"I don't care," like she thought I did not see or hear her, but guess what, girly! I did! Needless to say, this obviously pissed me the F off, and I had to inform management of the issue. The manager apologized and corrected the issue and made sure we were taken care of. I don't like to be this crazy about these things, but sometimes you just have to in order to bring the attention of management to this behavior from people who clearly don't want to work. Aside from the issue that the manager did resolve, Ethan attended to us well and provided us with everything we needed, and our experience was great while we were attended by him. Safe to say he saved our experience, and management heard our concerns. Thanks to these people for stepping up and being great. Much appreciated.

I've never been to this Gen location but decided to give it in a try since I was shopping in the area. The server was friendly however forgot to bring out some of the sides until after asking a few times. I asked for smaller portions which the server assisted, with the exception of the Korean fried chicken. She mentioned that the portion was small however it wasn't that small and my party was not able to finish it. Other downsides were that the japchae was a little too salty and at times there were no employees around to assist with a grill change.

Came here on a Thursday night for dinner for $30.99 per person. The food is okay for ayce Korean bbq but the reason for the 2 stars is because the service here is terrible. The bussers and runners were fine but one hostess and server were unfriendly, unwelcoming, and everything felt so rushed and forced. At one point, our server checked on us and asked if we wanted more meat, I said no but I was about to order something else and she just turned around and left...lol. A little while after, we weren't even done ordering and our server automatically gave us our bill?? Totally get it if we were there too long or if there was a wait for a table but the restaurant was not crowded nor were there people waiting at the front. We decided to just pay the bill but then our server was nowhere to be found to even grab the check. What a weird and awkward experience. Ambiance was ehh. There's a parking garage located across the restaurant with 90 minutes free parking and no validation. Come here if you're lazy to go to Ktown or go to Hans Kbbq in Burbank instead if you're looking for a place a bit closer.

Ask the Community - Gen Korean BBQ House

Have they stopped using the Yelp wait list? I used it a month ago but didn't see it today when we went?

I've been checking and it's never there anymore which is a huge bummer, we honestly won't go if we have to wait around - I can't see the upside of getting rid of the yelp waitlist! BRING IT BACK!!

    Do they accept cash?

    Yes

Should I make a reservation for a weeknight'?

    Yes, that's always best!

Do they offer corn cheese at this location?

What time is your last call for weekend hours?

As of 12/16/2022, it depends on who is working the front counter and who your server is for the night. Sometimes, it's an hour before closing time and sometimes, provided that you are already seated at a table, they'll let you keep ordering meat…

Is there no more lunch special anymore? I went with my partner at 1:30 and they charged us dinner pricing

As of 12/16/2022, for the AYCE option, it's a flat rate pricing of $28.99 plus tax per person (whch is basically $32 per person) regardless of time of day that you show up, whether noon time or late at night. The 'a la carte' menu didn't seem to…

Can any of the sides or salad dressing be purchased?

As of 12/16/2022, if you go with the $28.99 AYCE option, sides & salad dressing are free. Just ask your server for more sides. If you go by the 'a la carte' menu, it'll be whatever the price they list it as on their menu. Every location's menu &…

Can a party of 1 person eat or is it 2 minimum?

Party of 1 is always welcomed and sometimes needed.

Do you need to still show your vaccine card?

    No, not required anymore

You guys allow cats? Even thought if the cat stay in their backpack?

Legally you're only allowed to cook beef, pork, or chicken for protein. Cats are considered domestic animals.

We have a vegetarian in our group. Can the mushroom and vegetable option be cooked separate from the meet to accommodate them or is there any off menu option?

That's considered going above and beyond their normal job duties. Might want to include a 40% tip.

Do they accept home negative test?

Nope. Has to be CDC official card.

Is proof of Covid vaccination still required for dining in?

    No. That nightmare is over!

Hey saying I can just bring home negative test they want me to bring the actual test with me or how does this work if I use home test?

As of 12/16/2022, showing the physical, valid CDC proof of vaccination is no longer required for dining in.

How much per person on dinner?

It's on their website. Last time I went it was 26.99? I think. But it's one menu. No A B or C.

    Are vaccine cards required?

    Yes

Do I need reservations for 15 people?

I don't believe they take reservations. But that could also depend on location. They do have a Waitlist on Yelp.

Is there a time limit for dining?

    Yes it's a 90 minute time limit

What time is your lunch special over?

As of 12/16/2022, there are no lunch, dinner, and/or drink specials anymore. The menu doesn't note it, there were no banners or posters or table stands on-site indicating otherwise. It is either AYCE, which is a single, flat rate price of $28.99…

Hi do you guys do reservations?

As of 12/16/2022, their wait list is 'sometimes' available on their website but only becomes active when their physical location is actually open for business, which defeats the purpose of reservations. Effectively, it is first-come, first served so…

This place is basic, nothing fancy and there's really no ambiance or special feelings associated with it - it's just an old-looking sit-down and serve establishment. The few people sitting to eat were random; I was there to order to-go. After asking what was the patrons favorite dish(es) the lady quickly pointed out the most expensive items on the menu. Of course she did. My eyes rolled but I was polite and decided to order something I recognized and wouldn't hate myself for in the morning. Chicken Teriyaki Can of coke My bill came to $34.23 Ahem! What? Why does a plate of Chicken Teriyaki cost so much? And why $3 for a can of coke? I just cannot wrap my head around it. This isn't a fancy restaurant at all! In fact, it's as basic as it gets with no ambiance or warmth. I cannot recommend this place at all. The food was pretty poor and nowhere near on par with classy eats that try to reach that $$ figure. Montrose is certainly a place where there are people with money and no taste...looking for reasons to spend it willy-nilly. I thought I took a photo of the plate when I got home. Guess not. Avoid if you aren't made of money and prefer well-prepared meals, not quick, mushy fast-foodish stuff.

When I arrived I was seen from way in the back but never greeted. I walked back after a couple minutes passed and the lady asked me how many and I said "1" and she said sit anywhere. Ok... so now I got a seat and a menu. I gave my order pretty quickly and it came out fast. I didn't get checked on much at all but the kimchi beef tofu soup was good, a little on the plain watery side, and the sides themselves were ok. Total price was $16.99, ~$18 with tax. As mentioned by others, don't expect BCD tofu house here - but for being outside of K town this place is just OK. The inside is nothing special but it gets the job done and it's cozy. It is in a Vons shared shopping plaza so I wasn't expecting anything past basic. It's always a good sign when you have other Koreans eating at a Korean restaurant. As I was leaving there were 5 Korean patrons newly seated and seemed like it wasn't their first time. Overall Food = 3.5 Service = 2 Ambiance = 3 I might return but there are likely better places in the area worth checking out that have better service and quality.
