I went in to get my pants hemmed. She told me to come in the afternoon and I went around 4 pm and it wasn't even ready. Mind you I dropped it off three days prior. She told me to wait so she can do it and when she did, she didn't even cut it and redo the hem correctly. Instead of the hem originally only being half an inch long she just sewed the hem higher up to fit my request of the pants to be shorter, leaving with a two inch long hem (You can see the difference in the pictures). I'm not usually this picky but it just ruins the design and this was $70 pants. Also I'll have to be spending another how much dollars to get this fixed at another place. If u go to her just be descriptive so u get what u want. I thought it was common practice to just keep the hem length the same when it comes to alterations. read more

To my delight, it was beautiful and well constructed from really nice fabric, but the top was too big. Miss Coco turned the dress into one that looks and fits custom made, in two visits! The shop is so pretty and comfortable, and Miss Coco is a lovely, talented person. She even gave me some excellent cautions and tips about buying the inexpensive dresses that ship from China. The main things she said were not to fall for the promise of custom-to-you sizing, AND to plan your budget to include alterations once you receive your dress. I spent $90 on my dress and $80 on the alterations (Miss Coco had to move around a lot of lace!). For under $200, I have a dress that looks like it cost $500, and it fits me perfectly! Miss Coco's got skill. I needed more than just a regular hem. My shirts mid section & sleeves were both too long & wide. She couldn't just hem the sleeves at the bottom due to the design, so she shortened it at the shoulder seam while taking the sleeves in (making them tighter) at the same time. The hem at the bottom of the shirt was not a basic hem either, it was curved, she was able to shorten the shirt and keep the original shape. This took some work on her end, but she did it right. First and foremost, please take the 5-star reviews for this business with a grain of salt. I made the mistake of believing them without question and ended up with a very unpleasant and humiliating experience. I sincerely hope the same doesn't happen to you. I'll break down my experience by service areas so you can understand why I gave this business a 1-star rating. Punctuality (1/5): I dropped off 4 articles of clothing on 10/11 and was told to return on 10/18 for a suit pant fitting and to pick up 3 jackets that were being altered for sleeve shortening. On 10/18, when I called before heading over, I was told that nothing was ready for pickup, and we would only be doing the pant fitting. Uhh... okay. It felt like gaslighting, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. After the fitting, she told me everything would be ready on 10/19. I came back on 10/19, only to be told that only two items were done, and I would need to return the next day for the other two. Keep in mind, I had told her from the beginning to take her time since I wasn't in a rush. She set her own deadlines--and failed to meet them. Workmanship (1/5): The photos speak for themselves. Anyone familiar with suits knows that when shortening sleeves significantly, the buttons need to be adjusted to maintain proper proportions. Instead, the buttons were left right at the edge of my sleeves, which is a major fashion faux pas. This is just standard and I didn't think I would have to ask an experienced tailor to do this. Yet, these were handed over to me as finished work. Now I have to take them to another tailor for repairs, after paying full price for this hack job. Isn't life cruel? Customer Service (1/5): The tailor doesn't come across as mean-spirited, but you won't find a true tailoring consultant here. For instance, when I picked up my suit pants on 10/19, I wasn't happy with how they looked, so I spent a few minutes with my girlfriend examining them in the mirror. The tailor seemed bothered and impatient that I didn't fall in love with them immediately, even saying with an attitude that she "didn't think I would be so picky." I understand it's a busy, small shop, but why rush through a job and then get frustrated with a customer who's paying attention to detail? Later, when another couple walked in, she told me--in front of them--that she'd give me back one item unaltered and no longer wanted my business. This was because I asked why she didn't mention any potential issues with my tailoring requests earlier. Pretty embarrassing, but I didn't cause a scene. Honestly, it worked in my favor, because I certainly didn't want to spend more money with her! Value (1/5): At $45 per jacket for sleeve shortening, without adjusting the buttons, you can decide how valuable that service is when you end up needing another tailor to fix the job afterward. Conclusion: Overall, it was an abysmal experience. I didn't go in with a fixed budget--I just wanted my clothes altered properly. To the tailor: set a fair price, be honest about what you can or can't do during the initial consultation, and complete the job correctly and on time. Don't make excuses for poor work on something as basic as sleeve shortening by saying you can't shorten more because of the buttons. Either quote me a price for adjusting the sleeves from the shoulders or adjust the buttons as needed. But don't start a job knowing you can't carry it out as promised, and then charge full price for it. read more

I brought two dresses here, but the one I'll be speaking about is an evening gown. It was too big and I needed the sleeves hemmed, and when I brought it to her I asked her if by taking it in would it make the dress shorter and she said no. The sleeves were also cape sleeves that touched the ground and I told her I didn't want them too short, just the length of the dress. She also told me she'd fix the lining since it was odd in some places. The dress I got back feels like it got shrunk in the wash and is for someone wayyy shorter than me. Even when I put small heels on you can see my feet from under the hem (remember when she promised me it wouldn't get short?) and the cape sleeves were now an awkward length shorter than the hem of the dress. And for the lining, the way she cut it now has it awkwardly sticking out on each side of the slit. When I brought that part up to her, she insisted that "there's nothing that she can do", "it's because of the construction of the dress" and "no one will notice it" but it's VERY noticeable??? I don't appreciate that she tried to minimize my concerns and brush them off just to get me out. If she didn't feel like she could do the things I asked based on the construction of the dress, she should have not taken the job at all. Unfortunately, I'm someone that has a hard time fighting back so I just paid and left, but I feel extremely unsatisfied with my dress to the point that I can't wear it. My sisters wedding is next week and now I'm scrambling to find a new dress that will no doubt be expensive on top of the amount I paid for the original dress + $80 in alterations that I'm not happy with. I know nothing can be done at this point (it's not like she can make the dress longer) but I'm so upset that nothing that I requested was done correctly and I'm left with a waste of money and an unwearable dress. read more

I thrifted this dress for a wedding and the bust was way too small for me you can see I was suffocating it was for sure not flattering also there was a hole in the zipper part on the side of the dress. Originally I was going to ask her to lengthen the straps and somehow make the bust part longer but after examining Miss coco recommended to open up the back into a corset style to give me more breathing room, lengthen the straps, & remove the zipper, the dress fit so perfectly after! I tried the dress on for her, and she knew exactly what needed to be done to the dress without me telling her. Miss Coco helped me hem some jeans that I purchased but were too long. Her customer service and availability were great, but I am not convinced with the work that was done. I had explained to Miss Coco that I wanted the jeans to look like the original hem, just a shortened version. Upon receiving my jeans I noticed that it is very obvious the jeans were hemmed, because they do not match the original stitching/look of the original jeans. I pay a lot of attention to detail and this is something that really bothers me because I can tell the detail I was looking for was not given. I am not a tailor so after seeing how my jeans were left (after explaining to Miss Coco what I wanted), I was unsure if what I wanted was even possible. After looking into the "how to" process of hemming jeansI found multiple YouTube videos that do show keeping the look of the original jeans is possible. Unfortunately now I have to live with the jeans as they are, or find another tailor who can fix the issue and make them look like the original. Additionally, the jeans given to Miss Coco were new and had the tag still attached. When I received the jeans back, all tags were removed. I did not plan on returning the jeans after altering them by any means, but do not agree with Miss Coco having removed them herself without me asking. It was Sunday and we are going on a Mexico Cruise with Holland America in just a couple of days and when I put on my nice suit for the formal nights I discovered that my love for pasta increased my waist size and the slacks didn't fit. I went to Miss Coco's and she was open on Sunday and within an hour my suit slacks fit as perfectly as the day I first got the suit.
