It was busy when we arrived so things took a while but we were not in a rush, well the kids got antsy after a while but it wasn't a bad wait. We ordered turkey club, patty melt, and kids chk tenders. Fries and onions rings were tasty. Patty melt was delicious and turkey melt as well. Only thing to note, I didn't see any signage that using credit cards have a fee so I wasn't expecting it, however the check had a misc fee (for a dollar & some change), I asked about it and was told due to CC. I didn't have any cash so that wouldn't have been an option to pay anyway but I appreciate being told so I don't have to question it. read more

While this place was not much to look at from the outside and we almost decided to skip it, I am sooo glad we didn't. Lunch was great. Hubby had the BLAT which was tasty. Nicely done with phenomenal bacon - nice and crispy and the avocado just creamy. The onion rings were real onion's not chopped pieces. The berry balsamic salad with grilled chicken was outstanding. The flavors just melded together. We decided to splurge on the banana cream pie. It was just okay. The crust was a very soft graham cracker crust that almost didn't hold together. We were told to take a seat anywhere upon entry. Our server brought menus and the general intros, we placed our beverage requests and off they went returning shortly with my coffee, a large apple juice and water no ice. After a minute, I came up with a combo and we all placed our orders. I went for the biscuits and gravy it comes with bacon and browns and I added a side order of two over medium eggs. The biscuits are huge, and pretty good, the gravy was okay, but mines better. The bacon again was good but, my local sourced is better. The eggs, were overcooked. Not a lot but enough to make them over, again it was okay just not great. If you have passed by this 260 Cafe on your travels through Payson perhaps you should make a 180 and try some of their breakfast items. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We came here as it was dog friendly and it was on the 260 (hence the name).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu items have all your standard breakfast fare such as omelettes and benedicts with a few uncommon items such as the lobster benedict. When I mentioned to the server I was torn between getting the pumpkin pecan pancakes and the lobster benedict she recommended the benedict so I went with the expert opinion. It did take some time for the breakfast items to come out but when they did they looked pretty spectacular. The lobster benedict tasted more like a crab cake made with surumi rather than chunks of real lobster but it still tasted fine as a benedict. The eggs weren't super runny, I'd say poached medium, and looked great presentation wise. The hash browns were plentiful and had a light golden brown outer "crust." The tiny tot had the bear pancakes ($3) and a cup of fresh fruit ($3). The bear pancakes are adorable and she said they tasted great! The fresh fruit consisted of strawberry and honeydew melon pieces. Service was friendly and we were checked up on as needed. Wifes scrambled eggs were okay, bacon okay, hash browns Very good. Huge slab, and nice and crusty. My CFS was pretty good, crunchy but smothered in a rather tasteless gravy. Again, hash browns really good. Eggs okay. Biscuits and gravy... acceptable. Biscuits a little doughy, and smothered in the same gravy. Very hearty meal. Had to flag down waitress for coffee refill. We wanted to stop somewhere for a quick cold sandwich after visiting the Tonto Natural Bridge. Found Miss Fitz on Yelp and decided to check it out! The interior has this cute, intimate feeling for a cafe... almost like you've been invited into someone's house. I love that. The two of us were sat at a table immediately, the wait staff was quickly attentive and we had our orders delivered to our table in no time. The waitress suggested the everything bagel for bread choice on the BLTA and it was delicious. The fries and onion rings were nice and crispy - not all places get that right, so we were happy! Service was attentive but we had communication issues. I ordered a breakfast burrito and it was executed badly. The bacon was way undercooked. The burrito was filled mostly with what appeared to be mashed potatoes. There might have been half an egg in the burrito and it wasn't fully scrambled. I tasted zero seasoning and the tortilla was dry. I would have been embarrassed to serve this food, never mind ask someone to pay for it. I rejected the food, tipped my server and left. read more

I have not been back after my last experience. I ordered a Rueben sandwich last. I found a long hair sticking out of one half. The sandwich was fried after being smothered in bits of garlic on the entire outside of the crust. I had to scrape off most of the garlic as I don't eat garlic and it was not explained in the menu that it had garlic all over it. I did it the half a sandwich without the hair but when I explained what happened, I got my meal free. This cafe got the most reviews on Yelp, it may be the towns favorite local place. The restaurant sign is a little confusing. The name doesn't match their sign. Be aware and don't miss the turn off like we did. I had the patty melt with fries. I enjoyed the crunchy fried and toasted rye bread. The melt came with just the right amount of beef and cheese. Actually hit Miss Fitz over a month ago, after a hike in the area. I remember the parking lot being a bit small & tight, and the restaurant was definitely hopping with activity. Our wait staff was family-friendly, joking with us, as they rushed around taking orders & delivering food. I ordered a half serving of the biscuits & gravy but somewhere along the chain I was given the full-sized order. When I began to mention it to our waitress, she replied with a kindly (and almost grandmotherly) reply of something like, "Just take it and eat it, child". LOL! After I began to devour it, I realized the monkey bread had not been delivered. By then the bill had been delivered so when I asked about it, pointing to "MB" on the bill, the same gal chuckled and said "oh, is that what that means". I started to laugh and she brought it out. Hot, doughy, and so damn good. The gals I were with had a sample taste, then proceeded to order their own to-go. Such a good hole in the wall. The vibes remind me of Waffle House. It's so cute inside and the food is sooooooo good and delicious. The server was super sweet. We went there right at 7 when it was open and the food came out quickly. I ordered the bacon, egg and hash browns with biscuits and gravy. It was all sooooo good. I guess they consider defrosting, slicing, plating, and putting Hershey's syrup on to as being homemade. Sorry, not to me! I personally had the corned beef sandwich for breakfast, because why not, and it was generously portioned with homemade sauerkraut and corned beef on grilled rye. I got a side of cole slaw because this combo puts me in mind of a Manhattan and that makes me happy. I was not disappointed with my choice. The rub for me was the lack of Covid precautions. A sign when you walk in clearly states they don't care if you wear a mask or not and nobody was wearing a mask or really practicing any social distancing, and thus a three star rating. After a weekend of camping in the area, we stopped for breakfast on the drive home. I was disappointed with service on this busy Monday morning. wait was weird, no real semblance of a line or name taking system. I got in what I believed to be the end of the line and someone came in a few minutes after us but went to the opposite end of what appeared to be the line, they were seated immediately ahead of the rest of the waiting guests and this happened a few times to the rest of the lines dismay. After ordering, the server walked by my table with my order twice before asking the tables around me if it was theirs before I waved them over to my table. I ordered a wheat toast with my eggs; however, they attempted to serve me white toast twice and a muffin a third time before bringing the correct toast the fourth time around. As we were eating, I saw two different servers try to deliver more food to the wrong tables around me. It was like they didn't have any system for numbering which order goes to which table. After our meal I wasn't sure how to pay, No one brought a check. Do I pay up front, do I pay at the table I saw a few people in line at the register so I went up and was asked for the checkout slip. I flagged the server down again and waited for my order slip, brought it back up to the register to wait in line again before paying. The whole experience was confusing from getting seated, to receiving my food through paying for the meal. The food was good, decent enough to maybe go back again at some point. Exactly what we needed after a long weekend of camping! Stopped here on our way back to Phoenix and really enjoyed the food. The second you step through the door it feels like you've travelled back in time. The cafe had such an old school feel with antiques everywhere you look. It really gave this place a cute charm. Went for the first time for breakfast this morning. Friendly, efficient staff. Cloth benches in booths are dirty. My plate had soap residue. We substituted avocado for meat in our breakfast burrito and there was a very small piece of avocado and it was all black and rotten. The outside of the tortilla was very oily.
