We stumbled upon this restaurant while in town visiting last minute because the original restaurant we wanted to go to decided to close early and we are so glad we stopped by! We luckily found street parking right in the front. The staff was amazing, our server was knowledgeable, the decor and aesthetics of this place did not miss a beat. We just returned from a Thailand trip a couple of months ago and a lot of the items reminded us of it. We wanted to try everything. For the drinks, hubby ordered the Hanoi Old Fashion and I ordered the Lychee drink. Both came out picture perfect and tasted even better. I was already imptessed with the drinks. For appetizers, we decided to share the pork belly that came on skewers and drenched in some sort of spicy sauce. The sauce had the perfect amount of fish sauce, lime, sugar and peppers. I wanted to get some rice to eat it with and take it home. Hubby got the Khao Soy dish which reminded us of the northern Thai dish we had in Chiang Mai. They did not skimp on the protein, the broth was savory with the curry and coconut and the spice level was perfect. I got some sort of rice noodle soup dish. The broth was clear, but had soo much flavor. They also didn't skimp on the protein. I was surprised that I didn't need to add any other spices or seasoning to it. This place really cares about the flavors in their dishes and it shows. We will definitely be returning to this place again whenever we come back to the area and try other dishes. It's perfect for a social gathering with friend's and family and a date night. One of the things I enjoy about traveling a lot, is that in almost every city that I go to, I have a place for almost every cuisine. When I am in the Quad cities, my go to for Thai is Miss Phay Café. The food here is delicious and the vibe is just right. Plus they have a full bar, so you can have an adult beverage with whatever taste tea morsel you've chosen. What a great place! While the outside facia was modern and professional (see pictures), the inside was breathtaking (see pictures). Absolutely beautiful decorating everywhere that you looked, with seemingly no detail left to chance - with fantastic musical ambiance to top it off! My wife started with a Cucumber Smash and I went with the Saigon Mojito (see picture) - both on our wonderful server Cara's suggestions and both were absolutely delicious! For an appetizer, Cara suggested the Crab Cheese Puffs (see picture) and they were like a little taste of Heaven! So soft, creamy and rich inside the crispy pastry crust - and the included homemade dipping sauce is also amazing (I might have eaten the rest of it with a spoon after the Puffs were gone...). For our meal, my wife ordered the Suko Thai Noodles (see picture) and I went with the Lemongrass Beef Noodle (see picture). Both again on Cara's suggestions - but not until after pointing out that the alternative I was thinking about was not spicey (and I wanted something spicey). I like her opinions and directness! I am so glad that this place was recommended to us and I highly recommend that you stop and give it a try. Have eaten here a dozen times and never been disappointed. Lots of veg options, servers are all great and helpful with advice about spice levels. The menu is different almost every time we come in! Restaurant is always spotless and every remodel has even cuter decor. The decorations make it clear that someone cares a lot about this place! The crispy rice salad is the best dish I've had in the Quad Cities. It's light, crunchy, sweet, and sour. Highly recommend. Also a fan of the veggie roll apps, khao soi, farmer's curry, and vegan pho. The szechuan tofu had a delightful bite to it, but my palate was not prepared for the szechuan chili twang. If you're into it, I'm sure you'll love it. The drinks and cocktails have never disappointed, alcoholic or otherwise. They have amazing mocktail options. I personally love the lemongrass soda. And the tamarind fish comes out as an ENTIRE FISH - you have to skin and debone it yourself. A surprise find during a one nighter in Davenport. This one I will call a new modern Thai & Vietnamese spot. Nice ambiance and great execution on dishes. We shared a Viet Pork rice plate, a wrap platter w/ assorted meats, and the green curry noodles. All of which were on point. The only thing I can complain about here is the Thai iced tea boba... While it was good, there was WAY too much crushed ice. You end up blowing through most of the drink after just a few sips with the wide boba straw and then are fighting with crushed ice to extract out the boba. Aside from that, really great spot. I love a good curry. Tonight, I ordered a green curry expecting it to be creamy and delicious. It was anything but. There was not a drop of coconut milk in it. It consisted only of water with green curry powder, vegetables and the shrimp I ordered with it. It was AWFUL! Curries are supposed to be made with coconut milk/cream. Visited Miss Phay Cafe for the second time and even on a busy day such as Valentine's Day it was consistent and delicious. This restaurant is well designed and bright and features a nice fire place. They have plenty of options vegan, vegetarian, pork, beef, chicken, and seafood. The crab cheese puffs, and chicken potsticker are my favorite appetizers. They also have a full bar too with a variety of drinks. The food here is very delicious but portion for the price could be debated. I had the mama fried rice with chicken, and add shrimp but there wasn't a lot of meat present and the dish as I ordered it, and it's nearly $20. However the food itself, flavor wise, presentation, and ingredients do make up slightly for the gap in meat. The food and drinks are super delicious and the staff always does a great job. Although it doesn't need it, I like my food spicy, so I'd recommend getting some chili oil on the side, it's a game changer. Came to the city for a business trip and Miss Phay was recommended by the hotel. There was no disappointment. I had the spicy Cambodian beef and it was seasoned great. I ordered the prom pen soup and was dazzled by the robust flavors and delicious broth. We started with summer rolls that were fresh and loaded with greens and other yummy things. Beautiful to look at with bright vibrant colors and a peanut sauce that was the perfect accompaniment. At dinner I ordered the lamb that is grilled. Now I love lamb and am a tough critic-this dish did not disappoint. Served with flavorful salad it was delicious. The meat was tender with a beautiful marinade. I am so so happy to say that I have found my new favorite lunch spot in Davenport! This place has a great atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food. As a Vietnamese-American who has had Vietnamese food in Houston (if you know you know), I was so pleasantly surprised at the authenticity of Miss Phay's. Prices were definitely a lot higher than I normally pay for Vietnamese food in Houston. The viet food was good - not the best, but good enough. Portions are pretty small though. Highly recommend the Bun Thit Noung (Vermicelli Bowl with beef), Goi Cuon (spring rolls), and cha gio (spring rolls)! However, I think the Thai food is whatever. I personally think Lemongrass has better Thai food and portions. The service and ambiance is very welcoming and warm. read more
