    Super carne asada quesadilla.
    Joey V.

I had the super carne asada quesadilla and it was delicious! The quesadilla was made with fresh ingredients and was full of flavor. The customer service was outstanding--friendly, fast, and welcoming. Great food and a great experience. I'll definitely be back when I'm in Monterey!

The inside of the building is not very clean. Where they have a stand of salsas and pico, is very dirty as well. I was not greeted when walking in, and had to take my own order on a self check kiosk. The food came out hot, and the chips were seasoned with a good flavor. The prices are high for the items. $30+ dollars without a drink for one person.

So we're on our way to la Bahia but the place was packed so we decided to try out mission 19 Taqueria. I really liked the ambience that had a lot of flags on on the ceiling and they had legit Mexican music playing in the building. It wasn't too loud to the point where you couldn't hear yourself talking to somebody so that was nice. They have a menu that is electronic menu board that you can order on or you can order at the front counter we opted for the kiosk. It was easy to order. Everything was a little expensive for two street tacos and one shrimp taco it was almost $30. I feel like that is a bit outrageous but they were really good so it justified the cost a little bit overall I would give it four stars if they could drop the price down a little bit that would be nice.

Supe clear to read menu, enjoy the michelada!

Mission 19 was pleasantly busy on our Monday afternoon visit. Service was quick and friendly. Paola was awesome! Food was great and generously portioned. Will definitely visit again.

Love the ambiance, made me feel comfortable and at home!! The workers are quick and the food was top tier. I was so full at the end! We came looking for a Mexican food restaurant since we ourselves are Mexican and I am glad we came upon this small store! Definitely recommend i

I hate to leave a bad review, however, Mission 19 Taqueria left a bad taste in my mouth...literally. I had much higher hopes and maybe I just caught them on an off day, however, reading other reviewers, some seemed to share the same experience. First, this place is over-priced for what you get. I understand there is a premium with the location, however, ive been to so many cheaper establishments which honestly serves much better quality. First the good...the fish taco was alright. They at least crisped up the flour tortilla and the fish was half decent though pretty small in portion. Mostly loaded with cabbage, tomato, etc...The bad...the carne asada quesotaco was just bland, poor quality meat and the tortilla had no texture and was just soggy...just gross. Service was fast and the interior is pretty small with some tables and stool areas.

Me and the hubby were staying in the area and looking for some good Mexican food for the night while visiting Monterey. Mission 19 had really good reviews and the pictures looked very appetizing. We came around 7pm on a Monday evening. There's a kiosk to order from and we were greeted but mostly everyone was in the back cooking or cleaning. I ordered the quesabirria trio of 3 corn tacos and the hubby ordered the California burrito and we split a fountain drink. There's a tv that played music videos. Our food took about 10 minutes or so to be brought out to us. The hubby loved his burrito and raved about it all that week lol and my birria tacos were delicious as well! There's staff although mostly behind the counter, when we needed their help they were very helpful. I would definitely come back if we are in the area

The best f*c king tacos I have ever had! Full of flavor, hand made tortillas, huge serving size and great salsas. Restaurant is on the smaller side but very clean and stylish. Service is fast and kind. Can't wait to go back!

The food was 10/10! The food came out pretty quickly and our cashier was super friendly! Really nice sitting area as well.

If you want some authentic Mexican street tacos in the area, this is it! It's a no frills spot with so many options in their menu, including the famous Burria tacos. We happened to come on a Tuesday so our special treat was Taco Tuesday deal- buy 2 get 1 free. I ordered the Al Pastor, carnitas and carne asade. While the beef one was slightly dry, the pork ones were absolutely delicious with their homemade tortillas! We also got the chocolate flan which I really enjoyed. A layer of flan on top of chocolate cake that was moist and not too sweet. What a win! The only thing I wouldn't get again is the nachos. It was too much stuff on top of very little nachos, but some people may like it. Highly recommend this spot! Also, they have really great signs and posters to keep you entertained while waiting and eating!

Great service, very clean, a little busy depending on time but for good reason. Food was a little more expensive than other taquerias but the quality was way better than anything i had. SOME OF THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IVE HAD (saying that as a mexican that's regularly in mexico ) I recommend the adobado, I wish i got more pictures but it was so good i dug in right away

This place is so bussing and delicious, the HANDMADE corn tortillas are buttery and soft, and the meat was very juicy and flavorful. They're fast and very kind here as well, Id recommend anyone visiting the area to eat here.

The menu is overheard and we decided what we wanted and ordered. The employees were kind and helpful, we probably were the only people that didn't speak Spanish well in the restaurant but that wasn't an issue, SCW got the number 2 combo, I got the mole. Also ordered an appetizer. Seated and waited about 10 minutes and our order came out. Everything was freaking amazing. Such great flavors and so fresh. Even SCW who doesn't necessarily gravitate towards Mexican food made nom nom nom sounds the whole time. The mole was incredible, the best I've ever had. The whole time we were here it was an endless stream of customers, even late lunch hour. SCW was impressed by the contrast stream of people coming in. It took our party (8 people) a while to decide as we were spoiled with choices. But we had time as it was pretty busy for a Friday around 1. I ended up getting the carne asada nachos and the aqua Fresca that they had that day (mango and watermelon I think). Both were absolutely spectacular. The picture included might not show the best scale but I had 2 others helping me to eat this plate and otherwise I would not have been able to finish it (even as a larger man). The crunchy jalapeños with the chips, beans and guacamole were the perfect balance. As a meat eater, the texture of the faux meat was a touch odd, but the flavor more than made up for it. The staff was helpful and attentive even as they were balancing supporting customers, answer phone orders, and taking regular orders. My wife and will definitely be stopping by here more often!!

If you're an Amex Platinum cardholder looking to burn Resy credits in Monterey, this Mexican restaurant is worth a try -- but manage your expectations. We had a reservation and were seated right away, which was a plus. Started with chips and guac and a couple of drinks, then ordered the chicken enchiladas and the skirt steak and arugula salad, adding shrimp to the salad. The food was fine, the atmosphere was fine, the service was fine -- nothing memorable, nothing bad. The real issue is price. Adding shrimp to a salad cost about $15, and our total with tip came out to around $140 for two people. For that price point in Monterey, I expected more from the food and overall experience. Would I come back? Probably not at full price. But if you have the Amex Platinum and quarterly Resy dining credits to use, it softens the blow enough to make it worth trying once.

It's got a solid kick, and that buttermilk garlic dressing they use is addictive. If you're leaning more toward the taqueria side, the Blackened Shrimp Tacos and the Steak Fajitas are the move. I also get the House Burrito a lot as it's one of their famous specialties. Everything feels fresh and grilled, not greasy, which is a nice change of pace. They were incredibly nice and let us bring in our lovely puppy who behaved greatly. The ambiance was wonderful, lighting was nice, not too loud, and good vibes in general. The singular best thing we got was the Queso Fundido. Literally the best one I have ever had. I'm from Texas and have had a embarassing amount of Latin/Mexican food. We were so incredibly hopeful that everything was going to be at the same level. We also got the Salsa Trio to start which was great. We got some house margs, and a Pinada which were all great flavor, the margs seemed a little light on the alcohol, but overall good. For entree's the adults got Short Rib and Molcajete. The short rib itself was cooked great, but the sauce was very sweet and the chutney like topper was also sweet. I think it would have done a lot better with some more acid or heat or something. The Molcajete was very average and a bit overcooked. The kids got the tenders, which I wouldn't judge any restaurant on, that's just nice for kids to have. The other kiddo got the bean burrito. The flour tortilla was great but it was mostly cheese and just a few beans. We decided to send it on desert for some redemption and got Tres Leches, Flan, and Churros. The Churros tasted freezer burnt, the Flan was extremely over done and hard (not a Flan texture at all), and the Tres Leches was dense and pretty dry which was a bummer. All that being said, I would give it a shot. My sister was with me and said they had been before and really liked the enchilladas. I would go back and try some other things to give them a shot. The Queso Fundido was so incredible I would go back just for that to be honest. Anyways, we will be trying something else around the area tonight and hoping for the best!
