A must-visit when you're in Monterey or exploring Cannery Row. The breakfast is fantastic, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm, charming, and inviting. The Huevos Rancheros is an absolute must!!Crispy corn tortillas layered with creamy beans, topped with sunny-side-up eggs with perfectly runny yolks, and finished with a rich, vibrant salsa ranchera. What's not to love? The Breakfast Quesadilla is another winna!!Chicken breast, scrambled eggs, fresh spinach, tomatoes, Jack and cheddar cheese, and fresh avocado inside a toasty flour tortilla. The portions are also very generous, making it a satisfying meal and a great value. Park at the designated parking lot above the restaurant and take the stairs down. Happy eating!! 48

We ate here before exploring Monterey. Very cute cafe! The interior was nice, but not so spacious. They were going to put us on two tables with 9 people, so we asked them if we could occupy another table, and they were okay with it. The food was generous and seasoned well. The employees were nice and the service was good. Outdoor seating has a nice view of the beach, and the indoor area is cozy and laidback. The only con is that there are a lot of flies, even if we were indoors. Overall, everything was good and we will come back again when we visit Monterey.

We ate at the cafe twice for breakfast during a recent trip. Food and service were good and I loved that I could order lunch for breakfast. Pistachio rose latte was heavenly.

Stopped by for both breakfast and lunch - both were good but I think breakfast is the better of the two meals here. I recommend stopping by early to avoid the lines. For breakfast, I had the Denver omelet which comes with toast and potatoes but I upgraded to a fruit bowl which made the meal lighter. The omelet was filling and had big chunks of ham. My husband had the corned beef hash which was homemade corned beef chunks and served with poached eggs. For lunch, I had the halibut fish and chips - the fish didn't dry out despite the thicker batter (wish it was a little less breaded) and the portion was huge; I honestly could have shared it with my husband. My husband had the blue moon burger which he thought was pretty good and a big potion as well.

During a lovely stay in Monterey, we were pleased to find this place within walking distance of our hotel. It really has an amazing location & view, being on a walking trail with no buildings on the empty field between it and the ocean. The service is also good, plenty attentive & friendly. Their alcohol prices are acceptable, only barely on the side of too high. The food was tasty but wholly overpriced. Much like all the places we ate at on our trip, there is obviously an undisclosed surcharge for the privilege of eating in Monterey. I assume it works for them because many people, like us, are there on vacation and can justify overpaying for food since it's just for the trip. In spite of their high prices, I'll probably go back because their patio has immaculate vibes and I'm all about that whimsymaxxing.

Local favorite cafe- recommended by a family member for their Monkey Do pancakes. Cute cafe with ocean view, very quaint yet clean. The staff was very friendly . We had a large party and they informed us that we would be seated when all had arrived. We arrived just before opening , we heard it gets crowded. Parking was easy next to the restaurant. We were seated outside. Our orders were taken quickly and food came out hot and in a timely manner. The highlight was the Monkey Do pancakes, although the egg dishes were good. The corned beef was average as well as my breakfast burrito. The honey lavender latte was very good although a little sweet. Overall, I would recommend as the food was good, staff was friendly and efficient and the view was beautiful.

We have been coming to Wave Street Cafe for many years now on our anniversary/engagement/honeymoon trips and it is always a pleasure. Our most recent visit was for our ten year anniversary. The food is always delicious, fresh, and hot. Beautiful view of the ocean, with indoor and outdoor seating available depending on the weather. The servers are always friendly and helpful especially when ordering new things. We usually get the fish and chips and fish tacos as they are just so good. They also have the best cokes in a glass bottle here too! It gets busy so be sure to swing by early and get your name down and take a stroll down to the beach or on cannery row while you wait. A great spot to dine on your trip!

Outstanding. A lovely view from the patio to the ocean at Cannery Row. Great outdoor seating with heaters. Thoughtful service and a wide breakfast menu with Chilaquiles, Huevos Rancheros, a breakfast burrito, and a Chorizo Scramble, which I went for. I loved it. A great spiced egg, black bean, and chorizo base topped with the exact right amount of sour cream, pico de gallo, and sour cream. The Wave Street Potatoes were great. And! And! A selection of hot sauces including my favorite hard-to-find Pepper Plant sauce. The blueberry jam on toast was also a good choice. The atmosphere alone is worth the trip, but the food is stellar.

Amazing service! Hostess was very kind, said I was gorgeous! Waiters didn't interrupt too much, just enough to make sure my order was coming on time and check that everything was good. Gorgeous ocean view, and a beautiful indoors. The food was amazing as well, I got the Brioche French Toast with berries, and the Honey Lavender Latte. 10/10 would recommend for anybody in Monterey!

Great breakfast and music. Not too far of a walk from our hotel and we're seated quickly. Food took a while to come out. We ordered the chilaquiles and the breakfast burrito , one coffee drink. Total was $56 The chilaquiles were very good 5/5 !! I wish I would had ordered that instead. I got the breakfast burrito. I asked for no black beans or onions and chorizo added. It was okay 3/5. With the sour cream and salsa it had more flavor! Nice view of the beach and great music.

    Crispy Artichoke Hearts

This popular brunch convenient located in the heart of Monterey bay, 10 Min's working distance to aquarium, as well as with great views overlooking the ocean. Its waiting system is perfectly managed, with phone number wrote down for you to check out the nearby stuff. And staff will call you within 5-10 to be seated. The dish - crab cake was pretty good, all that I wanted, fresh, not too much extra additives. Even some greens on the side of the plate. Artichoke hearts- not a big fan, as it's too much oil, and not that kind of deep fry that you see in a tempura. I can barely taste the artichoke except for the oily skin. Tuna melt - pretty decent. The vibe is nice, staff is friendly.

I am glad I used Yelp to find this place that is not located directly on the main street. Most of the places I saw located on Cannery Row had low customer ratings. It is a small place and might be a bit hard to locate, but definitely worth the search and possible wait. We had a nice table outside. Service was good and food was great. Prices seemed about right.

Came for brunch/lunch on a Saturday around 1:30 PM and were seated right away. The outdoor patio is cute and is especially nice with flowers and heaters and an ocean view. I'm not sure if they were shortstaffed or weren't frequently coming outside, but they did not come to refill my water or check on us often. The menu has both brunch and lunch items so lots of variety. as a vegetarian , I went with the roasted vegetable Panini, it looked delicious when it arrived, but there was bacon inside!!! I glanced back at the menu to make sure I didn't make a mistake, but there was no bacon listed in the description. We flagged down the wait staff and asked if there was supposed to be bacon he quickly took away my plate and remade it, although by then my husband had finished his meal. My new Panini was clearly cooked very quickly, so it was lacking in seasoning and almost too temperature hot to eat. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. There is street parking.

If you read my…read moreother reviews, you'll see that I reside in the Central Valley, which is pretty far from Monterey, but not too far. I came for a little vacation from the heat, which is definitely necessary because it gets pretty toasty in the Fresno area. I think it's all the roads and stuff. I wouldn't know, I'm not a scientist. To continue what I was saying, I came to Monterey for a little vacation! Usually I'd go eat at a little spot at a mall called Island Burger, but to my surprise, the place was permanently closed! Can you believe it? I couldn't. Because the Island Burger was closed, I decided to go elsewhere for a burger. I checked online to see what folks were saying about this place, and it seemed like everybody had mostly positive things to say. So I went and ate there! When I walked in I noticed it was one of those spots where you just kinda put in your order and sit down and wait. So that's what I did. I got the spicy burger, but I can't remember the name of it. I also got some onion rings and chicken wings. I'd like to mention that I was with my family so we could share those items. I could theoretically eat all of that myself, but that'd be a bit greedy. The burger was great and it had a good amount of spice. The meat was juicy and nicely seasoned, and the fries were perfectly crispy. The onion rings had a delicious batter, and were fried to perfection. The chicken wings really surprised me! I would go as far as to say that they were on par with, and maybe even better than Wingstop. Overall, the service was great and quick, the food was immaculate, and I would absolutely recommend this spot to anybody who is in the area. The bathrooms are nice too. I forgot to mention that. Good bathrooms are very important.

Everything is made fresh to order, and you can tell. The lettuce was crisp, the tomatoes were fresh, the grilled onions were perfect, and the whole thing was put together so well. It wasn't messy, just a quality burger from the first bite to the last.My son got The Works, and if you saw his burger, you'd understand why he cleaned his plate. The food came out fresh, hot, and looked amazing. They really take the time to make everything look picture-worthy. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, the wait wasn't long at all, and they have self-serve fountain drinks, which is always a plus. The menu is simple and easy to order from. They have salads, chicken burgers, hamburgers, and you can customize your burger however you like. Their burgers are cooked medium-well by default, but I asked for mine well-done and they got it exactly right. The customer service was cool. They weren't over the top trying to impress you, but they definitely weren't underperforming either. Everyone was chill, friendly, and got the job done. The portions are generous. I only finished half my burger and took the rest home. I reheated it later and it was still just as delicious. Overall Rating: 8.7/ 10. My mother got their Chicken Cali Sandwich and said it was one of the best grilled chicken sandwiches she's had and that it was very flavorful and juicy, and that her side of sweet potato fries was far above the norm for sweet potato fries. The fact that the chicken sandwich and one of the more niche burger options were so good makes me think that their whole, eclectic range of menu options are pretty good. The staff were extremely friendly and seemed truly proud of the food they were cooking (talking about the ingredients in the chicken marinade, for instance, just a level of involvement above and beyond the type of restaurant), which along with a fun kitschy 50s and 60s theme led to a great overall atmosphere. The prices are also noteworthy; in a town where restaurant prices go pretty high, you get a sitdown quality burger and fries at prices competitive with fast food in a great location two blocks up from the heart of Cannery Row. I wanted something to drink that wasn't sweet, so I tried their raspberry ice tea. They used a sugary syrup to flavor the tea, and that was a strike out. It was sweeter than a soda, so it went back and I swapped it out for a plain unsweetened ice tea. Then we tried the cheesy garlic bread, which we were really looking forward to. Welp, it came out with mozzarella cheese and a ton of corn. No butter. No garlic. We all looked at each other when we tried it. Ok, let's try their brussel sprouts. Those are hard to mess up - but sure enough, they managed to. They deep fried them to the point they were black and charred. There wasn't anything left of the brussel sprout itself, it was mostly crunchy charcoal. At this point, we all ordered something we assumed would be safe for our main. I got the sliders and a side salad. I had the salad but only of the sliders. The cheese on it was queso, like you use to dip chips, so it was ran all over the place and the burger was a grease ball. I won't even get into what everyone else had, but they had similar experiences. Overall, it was pretty disappointing. Maybe there are other things or other times where this place is better, but it was a swing and a miss for us.
