I've been coming here for 3 years and it never disappoints. Sometimes when I walk in and it's not very busy, the workers here will let me try samples of things I've never seen before which is so generous. Everything I've tried here is absolutely delicious and I would get all of them again and can't even begin to try to pick a favorite. The people that assemble the plates definitely load them up too. Oftentimes when I get a plate with two mains here it lasts me 2-3 meals (depending on how hungry I am). I always have leftovers which is awesome. The value of this meal is epic. I would come here more often but it is out of the way for me so I typically have to make a special trip just to come here. The people that work here are all so nice. They are kind, patient, and efficient all at the same time. Pleas note this is fast food style of meal where you choose what you want at the counter and there can be limited seating. It's a small shop with a restaurant inside called Pinoy Express. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We ordered several items, and everything tasted authentic, although some of the dishes could have used a little more patis (fish sauce). My husband and I didn't like the lumpia at all, they were flavorless. However, my husband really enjoyed the Filipino spaghetti, and I enjoyed the sisig. attended an event that had party trays from here - the sisig, kare kare, & turon were all good! a lot of places try to cut corners w sisig by using too much onion, fat, or too huge pieces, but this place had perfect ratios. the flavor was citrusy without being too sour i rly appreciated that the kare kare had tripe, which restaurants don't always have; it was tender & not chewy. the peanut sauce was well-salted & umami on its own even without bagoong (tho it was on the thinner side, but that's just a matter of personal preference). i also appreciate when the bok choy & green beans are layered on top, which allows them to retain their green freshness instead of getting too soft. & the eggplant was tender & not rubbery finally the turon was rly crispy, even hours later! read more

I have been coming here off-and-on for over 20 years. The last few times, I missed the hot food service. Those visits, I bought a few hopia hoping to relive my childhood but they were old and dry. I actually threw them away. I loved the fried garlic peanuts but couldn't find other snacks I was looking for. My most recent visit, I got a plate of pancit. I was happy that they use fresh cut veggies in it but surprised that the price has nearly doubled. Actually, all of the prices here are much too high now. Overall, I was grateful to have a hot meal that wasn't fast food after a long roadtrip, but I most likely will make my own pancit when the craving hits. I love Filipino food. Mission Asian Market never disappoints. The ladies serving are always so cool. This little place is a packed with product on the shelves. The food is delicious. We always get lumpia and chicken adobo. Dessert will always be different. Either fried bananas, Biko (which is sweet rice and jack fruit) or sweet rice with coconut milk and sugar wrapped in banana leaves. There are table and chairs for you to sit down and eat. As a Filipino American, I feel like north county doesn't have enough Filipino cuisine. I only know of 3 restaurants around. They are all good and they all have a slight different vibe and taste. They are always friendly! I judge every Filipino restaurant whether or not they have sisig because that's my favorite dish. Every spot is different on how they make it, but in general they are all very good. They also had so many Filipino desserts that it was a bit hard to choose from. I chose the cheese puto and my favorite kalamay! There's just something about ube and rice desserts! So good and I absolutely love the texture! It's like a thick chewy jelly! Stopped by a few weeks ago to pick up some Filipino snacks for a road trip and I left happy. Prices are still a little on the high side, but with so few Filipino spots in the area, I don't mind supporting a local business that brings a taste of home. Plus, the food is consistently fresh and flavorful. The number one dish that keeps me coming back? The sisig hands down! It's always packed with flavor and cooked just right. I'd love to see them highlight it more it really deserves the spotlight. In general I always love the vibe here! The sisig here is the best I've ever had. So good to the point where I am sitting here a day later writing a review I never usually do because I can't stop thinking about this sisig. It has big chunks of crispy pork with red onions. It's vinegary, salty. Perfect with a side of white rice. Please get this. I will more than likely order a patty tray of this every time I'm in Oceanside because there's nothing like it anywhere else. I need them to open a location in the OC. The lumpia is amazing too so delicious with a plate is sisig and rice. The halo halo is pretty good too but I don't prefer the sweet potato texture at the bottom. Staff is great and lovely. Hidden Gem! Ive been wanting to come try this spot out for a while now and now that i finally did, it did not disappoint! Its more a fast homemade take out dishes. I know very little about Philippino food but it all looked and smelt amazing!!!! I choose the white rice/pancite? And some beef in some dark sauce that tasted like heaven! I also bought a fresh cassava cake they had there that caught my eye! Never tried it and now love it! Still dont know exactly what it is but wow!!! The staff deserves alot of credit they are so nice . A sweet lady working there noticed it was my first time and was so nice that she let me try a few samples of every meat. I may have given them a bad review about my last purchase... I recently bought a tray of vegetable lumpia and turon and they are so good. The crunch on the turon was perfect and it's filled with bananas unlike other turon from a different place where there's not much bananas in it. The lady told me that dilis were $5.99/lb but really it was $6.49 per small paper tray. They are a little market as well to get chips, bread, snacks, seasoning, ingredients, etc...besides the pricing discrepancies, the food is always delicious! Terrible service. Cannot comment on the food because we never received our order. We called at 10:00 am to put in a to go order of a small tray of lumpia to be ready at 12:45 pm. They told us to call back when we were 20 minutes away from picking it up. We called 30 minutes prior to pick up to give them extra time to prepare. When we arrived, our food was not ready and they told us that it would take them 30 minutes to cook the lumpia. Horrible customer service and time management. read more

It's nothing fancy, but it was everything I was looking for: good food, welcoming, and busy (that's how you gauge a good resto-food is moving quickly and nothing sits around)! During this visit we bought bbq sticks, a big ass bag of lumpia, and bilo -bilo We already made a pot of soup at home, so this was all add-ons. The family now has a trusted, local spot. I can't believe I've lived in Oceanside for seven years now and have never known that we had a market that served such delicious homemade and authentic Filipino foods until now. Seriously. We recently had some pancit from a Pinoy-owned food truck at Belching Beaver's Oceanside tap room and I forgot how good it was, and I've been wanting some more ever since. We just got some lumpia from Costco and I needed to find some pancit to serve with it and here I found Mission Asian Market. They had a variety of various foods, hot and ready and we got a few to try: Pancit Sisig Chicken Adobo Lechon (with sauce) I ordered a full to-go container of the pancit (so, not the half-rice, half-pancit. I did all pancit as the sides and main) and they gave me a ton of food. This will feed a family of four easily, with leftovers. Note this pancit is loaded with veggies and meat. It's a full meal by itself. Everything tasted so good. The sisig was full of flavor and a tiny bit spicy, but we loved it. The chicken adobo with onions was so good, but the lechon blew us away. We actually waited while they prepared some fresh lechon for us and by itself, it's great - kinda like fried pork belly. But with the sauce it's just over the top! Altogether, the total was $48.17 - which is not outrageous for the amount of food we got. And they gave us more lechon than could fit into the container cup, so instead of a lid they used aluminum foil (thank you!). I really wanted to try the Kare-Kare, but apparently they only make that on the weekends. I also saw some pics of garlic rice, but they didn't have any of that either. From what I understand, they open very early and often sell out of food. They also close early at 5pm (I believe) so you gotta get there early if you want to try any of this tasty food. read more

I don't live in the area, and when I visit family in SD county and the parental generations want Filipino food- this is my go to place to order and cater to our events. We recently had a small gathering to celebrate a loved ones bday. When asked what she wanted- she didn't hesitate and asked for Mission! We ordered: kare kare (special request- no tripe), curry chicken, lumpia Shanghai, Lechon Kawali and Turon. A lovely lady named Apple took our order and was so helpful and kind. On the day of our event, I called asking if my order could be picked up an hour early- Apple said no problem at all. While our order was ready as promised, there was a pretty long line for dine in and take out. Restaurant seems to always be busy so if you come during the lunch hour be prepared to wait. Food was a hit as always with the filipino parental generation and for us kids- lumpia and lechon were the bomb! When I'm having my Filipino food craving, I go to Asian Market. It is a store that has a buffet style service. You can order for parties or order different size plates. Everything they cook is authentically Filipino. My favorites are kare kare, dinuguan, pancit, lechon and lumpia just to name a few. Several weeks ago, I order a pancit platter for 15 people. We had enough left over for everyone to take home!! Asian Market also makes the best halo halo desert. I considerate a hole-in-the-wall, nothing fancy, but the food is muaaa... delicioussss!!!! This is your typical run of the mill cafeteria style restaurant in an Asian market. The staff here are very friendly and patient as I asked questions about each menu item. They have a wide variety of dishes to try and the price is pretty reasonable. I believe I paid $12 for a platter with 3 entrees? Always go for the half rice and half pancit to maximize and diversify those carbs. The only downside is that the food is greasy and some of the meat has a lot of fat as well. Which I don't mind, but some might not like. The balut was very dry and not as developed of an embryo as I'd expected. It was my first time trying it and I was very hyped, but let down. read more

Party trays can be ordered even the day of, but would recommend a couple days just because some of the issues I had experienced was not being able to call in. Only 1 person answers the phone and it's their personal cell phone number. Servings are generous, primetime seems to be around 9am. Random garlic fried rice with choices are limited in the morning, seems i have gotten lucky from 7-730am. Options are plenty for hot food to prepare you for leftovers. There is also a market inside for common filipino products. From star butter to jellies needed for halo halo, even refrigerator of cold foods are present. Closed on Mondays, :( read more

July 12, 2023 I visited this establishment and bought a 2 item lunch package: half pancit, half rice, dinuguan and sisig with a 50 cent sabaw all for $12 something, and they served a lot! Pancit: one of the best (not a lot of meat or no meat at all which I really like because I don't like meat in pancit. Rice: the standard Sisig: just the right seasoning with a slight hint of chile (I am used to eating Mexican food regularly, so I like very spicy food)\ Dinuguan: tender but too sour! No me gusta mucho (I love dinuguan and my Mom "ipinaglihi" ako sa dinuguan that is why I am dark, plus I am Ilocano) Overall, the restaurant is clean, organized, busy, the food is tasty, and the staff is friendly. And, surprise!: they are organized (and this is a candid joke: observe a Filipino business or event...there is always chaos...disorganization....and I love it because we Filipinos are like my 3 little grandkids who just want to do their own thing. Well, actually it so happen that these kids have the 2 best parts of the world in them (and also the worse parts: Filipino and Mexican mix (LOL). Chaos is in our cultural fabric. I love it. Without chaos, we are not complete culturally (I think). Back to the food review, I jokingly told them that my guess is that the cook is probably Kapampangan. He is actually Tagalog which has similar cooking techniques with Pampaguenos. If it has not happened yet, I think we should declare Pampanga as the Culinary Capital of the Philippines!
