First time here and it was a busy night. It's a small location, the tables are close to each other. I'm pretty sure the food is cooked next door and brought over. I felt rushed when it came to ordering, the lady stood as if she was annoyed I didn't know what to order. 3.5 stars for the food. This place is well priced compared to any other location around. The pho was a good size but the broth wasn't as hot as I was hoping. I ordered the #1 and the meat was a little tough. It came with the usual sprouts, mints, jalapeños, but they use lemon instead of lime, so that was different. We also ordered egg rolls which were good. We also ordered banh mi sandwiches to go and they were so-so. Better to stick to a banh mi sandwiches shops than ordering at a restaurant, not the same taste. Overall, I would definitely come back if we were in the neighborhood, the prices are really good here. It was dinner time so maybe the vibe will be different during lunch time.

My boyfriend took me here to eat at Mr. Pho! It's very authentic with lots of options. The jellyfish salad was an absolute standout -- incredibly fresh, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures PLUS it's just such an odd item to find on the menu. It was the ideal start to the meal! For the main course, the pho was rich and flavorful, with the broth being perfectly seasoned and the tendon cooked to perfection. The barbecue beef was tender, smoky, and just the right amount of charred. Each dish was exceptional and full of authenticity. The service was friendly but slow, which is totally fine because of how small the restaurant itself is. Highly recommend Mr. Pho for anyone craving delicious, flavorful Vietnamese cuisine!

The broken rice and the bbq pork was yummy it's equivalent to Orange County Little Saigon broken rice. The pho was as traditional as it can get for Vietnamese pho great place to eat and will be back. The service was great and the servers were attentive and gave us water right away. The fish tank was different compared to the other Vietnamese restaurants and the seats were comfortable.

    #1 & egg rolls

15 year customer and will continue to come back -- Without a doubt, this pho place is best in town, and thankful they've been here for so long. It's worth a detour out of your way to try. What you can expect: + Friendly staff [even while busy] + Wide range of "Michelin" quality Vietnamese food at reasonably low market price + Vegetarian friendly + Fast service + Clean dining area [free of foul odors] + Two televisions & fish tank Congratulations, you've just found your next hidden gem. Cheers!

Mr Pho is extremely delightful! Having just returned to Oceanside, I appreciate how consistent they are with their food and service. Ordered pho and fried egg rolls. One order of egg rolls comes with 6 and was enough to share amongst 3 of us. The lettuce, egg rolls and sweet and sour sauce make a perfect appetizer to me. The different in price between the regular and large pho is 1 dollar so it's best to get the large in my opinion. I ordered takeout so I typically pour about a fifth of the broth into a cup to avoid all the ingredients overflowing. The broth is flavorful so is nice to have to drink on the side. I typically order #18 w just steak. Took less than 15 min to order and pick up. Will be coming back

Lately, I've been searching for a new go-to pho spot, and this place is definitely climbing back up my list. The staff was professional and attentive, and the restaurant itself was very clean. The dining room, bathrooms, tables, and sauce stations were all well maintained. I also appreciated the hand sanitizer available at every table small detail, but a nice touch. I ordered the regular pho for about $15 and really enjoyed the broth. The meats were tender and flavorful, especially the brisket and tripe. Portion sizes definitely seem smaller compared to the oversized bowls many spots used to serve years ago, but honestly it works well if you're trying to avoid overdoing it. My son ordered the grilled pork chops with rice. The flavor was good, especially paired with the fish sauce, though the pork chops could have been a little hotter and had more of that grilled flavor. Parking can sometimes be tricky depending on the time of day, but today it wasn't an issue at all. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and especially the broth. Pho House is definitely becoming one of my preferred pho spots in Oceanside again.

When I arrived at Pho House, I was told that the boba for the tea was not ready and would take 10 more minutes after paying $60, which included a $10 tip. I was understanding and didn't mind waiting another 10 minutes. I was the only customer in the restaurant and waited for my order for over 25 minutes, while the staff were socializing (in a language not everyone understands). I spoke up and said I had been waiting over 25 minutes for the Thai tea boba after being told it would only take 10 minutes. The staff said the boba takes time to prepare and I responded that they should have given a realistic lead time. As a customer, I felt ignored, alienated and forgotten about. I have nothing against different cultures but it's not polite or welcoming for staff to be socializing in a manner that is ethnocentric and exclusionary, acting like customers are invisible. A word of advice to customers: don't tip staff in advance but only tip if they deliver on what was agreed, and no less. Tipping staff who are not truthful or go back on their word is a waste of money. Tipping is not mandatory but only if the service meets expectations. Staff who don't care about their customers are not deserving of tips.

After a long drive from NorCal and immediately going into a full day at Legoland, it was safe to…read moresay we all needed something comforting and delicious. A quick search on Yelp gave me a few decent options but Pho Oceanside won because they were opened later than the other businesses. Our party of 3 arrived at 7:45pm on a Friday night to a pretty quiet restaurant. There were only 2 other parties dining- one being a table of about 8-9 guests. The staff let us know we could pick our own seats and provided us with menus. The offerings here are very typically of what you would expect to find at a Vietnamese restaurant. Kudos for the vegetarian options for those non-carnivorous eaters. Dinner consisted of: *P14. RARE STEAK, FLANK, TENDON & TRIPE PHO (TÁI, NAM, GÂN, SÁCH) *L6. SEAFOOD (MÌ XÀO HẢI SẢN) Calamari, shrimp & fish ball *VIETNAMESE SANDWICH- GRILLED PORK [Cucumber, pickled carrot & daikon, onions, cilantro] So this is where the visit took a dive. The one male staff member cane by with a plate of veggies for the pho. What was provided had to be the worst portion and quality I had ever received. There was only one... YES, ONE!! sprig of basil and the basil was limp, crusty, and honestly just SAD!!! I was honestly ready to throw in the towel and mentally prepare myself for a poopy meal ahead. Thankfully, my guy spoke up and made a request with the gentleman in charge- he came out with an abundance of fresh thai basil. Food was surprisingly pretty good. My daughter enjoyed her seafood chow mein. The pho was alright but the broth could have been a bit more flavorful. The banh mi was my favorite of the night and i totally didn't see that coming. The sandwich wasn't aesthetically pretty on the eyes but the pork marinade was delicious. The cuts of meat were tender and the bread was soft yet crunch in all the right places. 4 stars overall. My only bit of advice is providing patrons with fresh, crisp herbs if you are going to skimp it down to 1 sprig per person.

My go-to pho spot since the early 2000s…read more The broth is still amazing, and you can tell why this place built such a loyal following over the years. That said, it's also noticeable that times are affecting portion sizes and some of the ingredient quality compared to what this place used to be. Unfortunately, the bigger issue now is the service. On multiple recent visits -- both dine-in and pickup -- the wait staff has mostly been gathered around the bar area on their phones or watching TV instead of checking on tables. During this visit, I eventually had to get up myself just to ask for water. After experiencing this on two separate occasions, I think I'm officially on the hunt for a new pho spot here in Oside after many years of loyalty. It's disappointing because this used to be one of my favorite comfort food locations. But between the unprofessional service, drop in food quality, and an increasingly unfavorable dining experience, I won't be returning.
