Pork adobo and pancit with a chicken skewer and plantains

What's not to like? Filipino food and what now? You can also grab some Jamaican eats too? All go good with some steamed white rice so you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Choose what you want and pay at the counter. Reasonably priced. No frills just good eats.

Unsure about the rest of the menu but stay away from the empanadas I ordered the curry chicken, it was under a heat lamp. Unfortunately it may have been sitting there for a while inside was what looked like neon green mashed tuna fish flakes and it tasted old. See the picture for yourself

2 item plate. I chose soup and chicken. Added a side

Plenty of parking. A few steps. Outdoor table and several inside. You can see the food set up Panda Express style so you can pick and choose. I like that. I chose the 2 item plate. I chose soup and chicken. Added a side. It was a lot of food. Enough for two ppl I think. So yes it was $18 plus tip, but it will be two meals easily. I recommend a little fish sauce. Gentlemen greets you as you enter and helps you with any questions you may have. He keeps the restaurant clean and presentable. I love exploring new foods, I'm teaching my son about the Philippines so this places was a great find. From what we are learning and from what my from the Philippines friend has made, this place tastes authentic!

TLDR: Oxtails were phenomenal We got this place for lunch for a work meeting I ordered the oxtails and they were amazing. Perfectly cooked, fall off the bone tender stewed in the savory and spice jerk seasoning all over coconut rice and peas. My plate came with three oxtails, a side of veggies, and two plantains. The beef patty was your standard Jamaican beef patty, ground beef with jerk seasoning wrapped in pastry dough. The plantains weren't the best, they were fully ripened so they were lacking some sweetness and a little harder than I like. I tried some of my coworkers chicken adobo which lacked the traditional vinegary pepper flavor that enhances the savoriness of the dish. I also tried their pancit which was delicious very savory with a stronger than normal celery flavor that I really enjoyed. Overall, I definitely come back just for the oxtail plate alone!

Hubby and I stopped by during a Thursday afternoon. We ordered a 2-item plate with pork sinigang, pinakbet and rice, and oxtail. The sinigang had the classic sour/savory flavor that I have known my whole life. The oxtail was cooked well. The meat was tender and falling off the bone. Some parts of the rice were more clumpy and wet. They attmped to make pinakbet. It was a nice effort, but not my favorite. It was a bit on the soupy side. It was missing the savory umami flavor that pinakbet usually has. It was also missing two core vegetables, the ootong (long bean/sitaw) and parya (bitter melon/ampalaya). Probably left out for the American palate. If you know me, you know that my favorite meal of all time is pinakbet. I grew up eating it, and if I had to choose my last meal, pinakbet would be it. Just not this version of it. Service was straight forward. Point- and-choose style eatery. Customer service OK. Cozy and homey atmosphere with the feeling of aunties cooking in the kitchen. This is a good place for the introduction of Filipino food. I'd have to come back to try more of their Jamaican menu.

Visiting Carlsbad and my nephew tells me about this place. A Jamaican and Filipino restaurant?! I never knew these existed so I had to try it. Of course I was thinking it was Fushion food. Its not. They served both Filipino and Jamaican food: separately. I had Filipino food combo 1 (pancit and a meat: I choose Chicken Adobo) and added on Jerk Chicken. It was really tasty and plentiful. A scoop of rice should be included in the combo to help soak up the sauce of the adobo. But thats just my opinion. People were nice, place was clean, and the food hit the spot.

2/6 - all this food for around $40! Had to take it home
    Joy L.

Straight up Filipino (and Jamaican) comfort food. I originally visited when they opened and was stoked to have a Filipino spot close to home, but I wasn't overly impressed when I visited. Fast forward to today (2/6) and we wanted some quick food before heading to Costco and I needed some rice after spending a week in Vegas for work. We said, let's give it another shot and it was very solid. Wish there were a few more options BUT we heard they do lechon on Sunday's and sisig on Friday's so we will definitely be back. Really enjoyed the diniguan and the portions were on point. Very happy to have given them another chance because we will be back many many more times. Also the staff were so helpful and nice!

    Lumpia in dipping sauce
    Noel R.

Great customer service, beautiful esthetic inside and out. Lumpia was delicious but they were very tiny. Chicken curry patty had good taste but the flavor was very very light. The crust of the Pattie had zero taste. I'd like to taste much more of the menu to really decide what I think but so far 4/5 stars.

    Oxtail and jerk chicken

So I was craving Jamaican food since it's been a while and wanted some oxtail and I find this place on Yelp. The other plus to finding this place, was that there's also Filipino food! We pull up and so happy to see there were people eating inside. I got the Jamaican food. Oxtail, of course, and also jerk chicken with rice with beans. Now they said they don't do 2 item combo but let me get it anyway and charged me for a large. Do you see how big my plate was?! The oxtail was so tender. It was good but I think it just needed a tad more salt. What do I know, I'm not Jamaican, I just know the food was still bomb but glad it's not salty. My husband got the Filipino food. I didn't like the pancit as much because I like it more noodle-ly but my Filipino husband loved it. He said it was authentic and tasted like how he remembers it tasting when it was made it in the Philippines. The halo halo was good, we got to choose the flavor of ice cream and of course it diff so I chose avocado. Not as sweet, so goes well with this dessert. We also got meat pies but I forgot to take pictures of it. Looking forward to next time I come here for the oxtail :)

How exciting to find two different types of food cuisines that I like available all in one restaurant. This lovely place is in Vista. They offer Filipino and Jamaican food already cooked (turo turo style). One side offers Filipino dishes and the other side Jamaican. Examples of the Filipino dishes offered that day was Pancit, Adobe, Pinakbet, Dinuguan, Giniling, Sinigang soup (Free soup). On the other end was Jamaican food such as Oxtail soup, Curry Goat, Plantain. There was also different types of empanada you could buy separately. They also have daily specials offering different Filipino ulams on different days example Kare Kare, Laing etc I was also excited to see you can order fried Tilapia or fried Pompano on the side. I chose the one combo option with half pancit, half rice and pinakbet with a side order of fried Pompano. My hubby decided on Oxtail Stew that came with rice, cabbage and plantains. Both foods were delicious! It was filling so was too full to try the Halo Halo dessert. Next time! Already planning to go on a Thursday to try the Laing daily special. Service was friendly and no problem with parking.

First time coming here.. been wanting to try this place out.. not bad for sure will come back.. the parking here are spacious!! To give more context, there's a good size truck parked in this business complex and still has plenty of room on both sides.. they do accept Cash App.. pay by using your phone.. initially we were going to to 2 combo plate but that would be an overkill.. so we opted for the one combo and oxtail. You pick what u want and they put it on the plate and you bring it to your table.. sort of like any asian order to-go food places.. nice chill spot with decent lighting.. definitely need to try their halo dessert.. you'll be in for a treat

Never been here before and I was next door at Costco and thought, let's order a combo meal and see how it is. Got a 2-item combo with Pancit, and selected Pork Adobo & Chicken Mechado with a side of Curry Chicken. All were very good. Only drawback with the to-go order was the containers. They don't hold up to all of the hot liquids so they had to wrap it in plastic wrap to keep everything from spilling out. Overall the food was very tasty. Lots of flavor. The Pancit was quite different from what I've had before. I also make my own Pancit at home and I tend to add more veggies (cabbage, carrots, celery, shrimp, chicken & beef). Their version is okay. The Pork Adobo was excellent. I definitely will get that every time I visit. The Chicken Curry was also very good and not too spicy. Cute little place that apparently has karaoke too! Will be back to try everything else.

It's also weird that they served us rice but we had to wait 15 minutes for the sinigang to come out. The lumpia is not worth it. It's thin, burnt crispy, and barely any filling. It doesn't represent how tasty and popular lumpia is! The wait for the second entree was 30 mins!!! The lady in the front kept telling me that "it's coming out soon" but each time food comes out from the kitchen, it's not for us. By the time we got the canton pancit, it didn't even taste good! It was too salty and the chef overdid it with the celery. It literally tasted like soy sauce celery noodles. I also didn't realize it's not rice noodles... I know the description said "fat noodles" but I thought it'd still be the traditional rice noodles but thicker. I won't return. I'm going to stick to take-out only Filipino restaurants. The quality is better, food is authentic, and way more affordable than here.

My wife is a big fan of their Adobo Breakfast Bowl and on our second visit, she decided to order it again. To our surprise the dish came out noticeably different from what we remembered. It had more sauce and a hint of sweetness, almost leaning toward a paksiw-style flavor. When we asked one of the servers (not the one assigned) about it, we were told that some adjustments had recently been made to the ingredients. We were a little disappointed since we really enjoyed the original flavor from our previous visit. Thankfully, our assigned server took the time to share our feedback with the owner, Anthony. He personally acknowledged that some adjustments had been made BUT also recognized that the dish we received was not up to their standard. What really stood out to us was how he handled the situation. Rather than dismissing our concern, he offered a thoughtful resolution that completely turned the experience around and made us feel genuinely valued as customers. To me, THIS is what great hospitality looks like. Food may not always come out perfectly but when a restaurant listens, acknowledges a concern, and makes a genuine effort to find a resolution for the best possible customer experience, it makes you appreciate the place even more. I strongly recommend giving this place a visit. There aren't many Filipino-themed restaurants in SoCal that offer this level of food quality, hospitality, and overall experience. We'll definitely continue coming back!

Since we live more than an hour away, we waited until we were already in the area. Two days ago, we finally stopped by. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The first thing we noticed upon walking in was an unusual odor that wasn't very inviting. Since it wasn't their Sunday buffet day, we ordered à la carte: kare-kare, crispy pata, and chicken inasal. The service was good, food presentation was nice, and the dishes looked promising. However, the flavors did not meet our expectations. The kare-kare did not taste like traditional kare-kare, and the bagoong alamang was extremely salty with a very strong odor. The crispy pata had been chopped into pieces before frying, making it look and eat more like lechon kawali than the crispy pata we expected. As for the chicken inasal, it was far from the traditional version we're familiar with--it didn't even appear grilled and resembled chicken satay more than inasal. There were three of us dining, and all of us shared the same impressions of the food. Based on their advertising about serving food that's "as good as Nanay's," we came in with high expectations, but sadly, those expectations were not met. This was our first visit, and unfortunately, it will likely be our last. While others may have a different experience, we were not impressed with the food and would not make the drive back for another visit.
