I know it's been getting dark earlier and earlier but what I didn't realize that one of my headlights was out. Drove into this shop and spoke with Vincent (shop owner) to see if they can check out my headlamp. Vincent called one of his guys over to assist. Somehow we started to talk about fishing. Headlamp (bulb) was replaced in less than 10 minutes. I asked "how much" and Vincent said "don't worry about it, I got a bunch of those bulbs". How great is that! A few years ago I was rear ended, and the damage was very minor. I had to get an estimate for the other insurance company to pay me out. I was in the area and saw this place, pulled up, and walked into the office. Someone came out and as I explained that all I needed was a quick estimate, they told me it was very minor and asked me if I was actually going to get it fixed. I said "No of course not, I just need an estimate for insurance" and basically dismissed me. My precious 1968 Plymouth Barracuda received front end damage. It took me over a year to find a replacement grille because there are no aftermarket parts. My Mopar mechanic recommended Mission Auto Body as somewhere he trusted with his cars. Unbeknownst to me, the grille I bought was rusted and not viable for replacement. Vincent and team rebuilt the grille using the old and 'new' grille and painted to match. I was concerned on the paint match as the existing paint job was done by the previous owner at a cost of over $10K. In just over 1 week, they completed the job to FANTASTIC results. It's interesting to see that this shop got two previous 1-star reviews, but perhaps they made a concerted effort to turn things around. I went here because they were a Progressive-preferred shop, and since I didn't have a preference, I decided to trust their choice. The repairs on my car were superb, and they completed the repair in a reasonable time. They worked directly with the insurance company and rental car agency so I didn't have to arrange a thing. The insurance adjuster worked directly with them and I didn't have to be present. When I picked up my car, I simply left the rental with Mission Auto Body, and they took care of the entire rental return. Completely no hassle. The owner was very friendly and eager to please. He not only fixed the damage from my parking-garage incident, but he touched up every single scratch on my car - completely on the house. My car didn't even look this good when I bought it as a pre-owned vehicle. They also completely detailed my car - inside and out. It was spotless when I picked it up. It really sucks when you have a bad experience with car service shops, but it is also great to hear when a shop turns things around for the better. I didn't catch the name of the owner or the woman who works there but they were both incredibly friendly and helpful. I brought my car to them because it got broken into and my window needed replacing. I misunderstood my insurance's deductible and had to pay more than I anticipated. This made me super frazzled and almost in tears, but the two of them were very kind. I think the man was the owner (Vincent?) and he even tried to cheer me up by saying they also washed the car for me. Which they did and it looked so nice compared to how dirty I had let it become! They also wiped down the interior. The woman helped me back out. Super nice people despite my distracted and unhappy attitude. After getting my Audi S4 backed into my insurance company recommends that I take it to Mission. I figure that taking my car to their recommended shop would just make the process go faster and smoother so I agree to do it. Before I go any further I should explain that I'm very protective of my car and I have clear "rock chip tape" or "armor" installed on the front of the hood and bumper which got torn in a few places. When I set up an appointment to have an estimate done and drop off my car I'm told that I would get an estimate on the spot that I could review. When I bring my car in the owner takes a 10 second look at the damage and tells me that I can go and that someone will call me with an estimate. While this made me raise an eyebrow, I decided to shrug it off and wait for the phone call. I get a call later that day saying that they will be repairing the dents and scrapes on the bumper as well as replacing the damaged rock chip tape on the hood and bumper, which also includes repainting the bumper. However, I am told that I will have to wait 3 weeks between having the repair/paint done and having the rock chip tape replaced so that the new paint on the bumper has enough time to properly set. I'm perfectly fine with this as I don't want to do anything that could potentially damage the paint. I am also told that the repair/paint would be done by the end of the week; I dropped it off on a Wednesday I believe. Assured that everything will be back to normal on my car in a few days I go on with my life as usual. Excited to get my car back I call Mission on Friday morning to confirm that my car will be ready to be picked up and am told that it won't be because the paint still needs more time to dry. Having to wait until Tuesday to get my car (stupid Labor Day), I hang up the phone disappointed that I'll be stuck driving a Kia for another 3 days. I call up Mission on Tuesday morning again to confirm that my car will be ready to be picked up and this time I'm told that yes it will be ready, but not come until after 4:30 because they are still putting the rock chip tape on! I tell the woman on the phone (who barely speaks discernible English) that I was told that I needed to wait at least three weeks before having the armor put on so that the paint would have time to properly set. She then asks me if I don't want to have them put the armor on and I tell her no because it is my understanding that this could potentially damage the paint and that I'll be there that evening to pick up my car. So I leave work early to drop off my rental and pick up my car and as I'm on my way there I get a call from Mission asking me if I can wait another day to pick up my car as they aren't finished putting the rock chip armor on! I then tell her (same woman by the way) that no, I will not wait another day, again not to put the tape on the car, and that I will be there in less than an hour to take my car home. I get to the shop at which point I have the same conversation again with the woman on the phone except this time in person. I then have the conversation again with the owner of the shop; again saying that I don't want to wait another day to have the tape put on because it was explained to me that putting the tape on before the paint is set can be potentially damaging. After agreeing that I will bring my car back in when I feel it is ready to have the armor installed they finally go get my car. Of course the bumper hasn't been put back on yet and so I have to sit there for half an hour while I wait for them to do that. When they're finally done I give it a quick eyeball, not wanting to spend any more time there, and take my car home. When I get home I decide to give the work a closer inspection and see that there is a 3 inch wide streak in the paint where it began to drip as it was drying! Now, again, I'll admit that I am quite picky when it comes to my car, but talk about half assed work. I immediately contact my insurance about the issue and ultimately decide to bring it back to Mission and meet my claims adjuster there to inspect the work that was done. When I bring my car back to Mission and have the adjuster look at the drip mark he agrees that the bumper should to be redone. The owner of the shop also agrees to redo the work, but at this point I have no interest in leaving my car with them again. Of course at this point the owner gets upset and starts off on how this isn't a brand new car or anything and that the bumper isn't going to be perfect and on and on, missing the point entirely. Not once did he apologize for the mistake or all of the miscommunication. All he gave were excuses and arguments for why the work wasn't done right. Pathetic! Anyway, to sum up this ridiculously long review, DO NOT take your car to Mission Auto Body. Not only are they lazy, vague and inconsistent, but the work they do can't even be described as mediocre. If I could give them less than 1 star I would. read more

When my 1996 Volvo wagon was rear-ended, AAA towed it to Mission Auto Body which is in my neighborhood. The car had been accelerated into at an angle while I was stopped at a light. The passenger side and even the roof were damaged, along with the tailgate and suspension. The rear bumper and one tail light were dangling from the car. When the car and I reached the shop, Brenda in the office could not have been kinder. She was concerned about how I was doing, offered to have me driven home, and told me they would keep the car until I had a chance to talk with AAA. Due to its age, AAA quickly declared my well cared for, well running car a total loss. I was offered a small settlement. Mission Auto Body continued to hold my car for the next several days while I decided if I wanted to have it repaired. They did this in a busy shop where space is at a premium. The shop manager Vincent patiently walked me through the damage, both with the car on a lift and on the ground. He never expressed any hesitation about being able to repair it, but he urged me to be sure I wanted to invest in repairs instead of buying another used car. I visited a number of car lots, but ultimately decided to repair the Volvo. Brenda went over the estimate with me item by item. The shop would accept no money until I received AAA's settlement check. They went to work finding replacement parts for the 16-year-old car and restored it perfectly. They then did a paint job that blended seamlessly with the existing paint, and returned the car to me clean and detailed, looking like there had never been any damage. Thanks to Mission Auto Body's solid work my wagon is back on the road with no reminders of the accident. I will always be grateful to the shop not only for the excellent job they did, but also for their compassionate attitude at a difficult time. read more

I decided to bring my car here Saturday morning after a linen truck backed into me. It was the only shop open at that time and with an open schedule. They are in the CSAA network, which was what i was looking for, having had good experiences in the past. Brenda was very nice and had the Hertz driver come to shuttle me over to rent a car (they will bring you back to the shop when you return the car). All communications were between the shop and the insurance adjuster. The work took one week and a day, which was reasonable to order the parts an do the repairs. Everything turned out great and the car was cleaned and detailed. I am a very happy customer. Turns out that I read the past Yelp reviews after dropping off my car and was a bit concerned. I've brought numerous cars here in the past. Most of the time, I take my cars here for painting the bumpers after a few rough years in San Francisco (nobody in the city knows how to drive here, or maybe they're taking the name "bumper" a bit literally). Everytime they've done a great job for my requests. They were even able to match the color for an older car of mine. For the most part, I try to sell the cars after I get them worked on. Maybe it's psychological, but the cars tend to sell with relative ease after I get them repainted a bit. My father also took his car here before and the owner gave us a complimentary buffing (with my approval) for the front fender. He noticed some white paint or dried sheet rock kind of material on it, and offered to buff it off for us. I would recommend this body shop to anyone who needs a bit of TLC for their car. Even if you want to repaint the entire car, they seem to do that also. I saw a car being worked on that was not a factory color and the workmanship was quite nice. read more

I went to Mission Auto Body because my drivers door had been damaged and would not open all the way. It is an older car and I didn't want to put a lot of money into the car. I asked if they could just make the door serviceable again and he agreed to do the necessary repair and adjustments to make the door open and close normally. I had extensive paint chipping all over my 2004 Nissan 350Z and took it to Mission Auto Body to repaint practically the whole car. They did a wonderful job, and took out a few dings and replaced the front ornament in the bargain. Vince and Brenda were a great team - the coordination with the insurance company was superb, and they noticed things I had not, and got the adjuster to include them in the claim. If there was zero stars, I wouldve done that... I brought my car in for a quote for a claim for AAA. I was sent here to have the damages looked at. The repairs are covered by AAA and I know I have the option to get cashed out instead. However the lady who was there was of no help at all. She told me to bring it back when I'm ready to fix it. I replied AAA sent me here to get the quote approved but she said otherwise. She claims she's a AAA direct repair shop and AAA ONLY cuts checks to them and the quote was going to be useless. Total BS. Looks like unless they get paid, they don't want to help... Highly don't recommend this shop at all. Or least speak with a different worker. I've dealt with AAA claims before and not once was I told this. AAA usually direct me to 19th Ave Autobody for the estimates, those guys are helpful, concern and advising. Everytime I went to the 19th Autobody, I left there satisfied with no concern of more paper work or phone calls ... AAA should take another look at this place and see if they are truly worthy of holding the direct repair sign... I will never bring any of my cars nor advise anyone also. Customer service is shady and a waste of time... Get it done right the first time so u don't have to deal with these rude people.. I ended up calling AAA to proceed with the adjuster. The agent came directly to my house after explaining how mission auto body refused to do the quote. They were a bit speechless and offered to call them directly and inform them of my appointment, I refused and AAA offered to come directly to me. I was rear ended a few weeks ago. I was never been involved in an accident but sometimes accidents can happen. Fortunately my girlfriend refer to me Mission Auto Body as the best place to go to fix my car. In 2010 somebody sideswiped her car and damage the passenger door, mirror and the front right side. They did a an excellent job. So I took my Highlander so they can fix the rear bumper and back light destroyed in the accident. The results and the work were outstanding.
