I was referred to Don's by AAA after my car was hit by an uber driver. I worked specifically with Peter who did a phenomenal job at communicating and working on my car. I dropped my car off on a Thursday morning for a preliminary inspection and was told it would take about 2-3 days to repair a damaged bumper. I was able to bring it back the following Monday morning for repair. The process was super straight forward and they made it very easy to work with AAA. The estimate for the repair was about 1.3k, which felt reasonable considering the inspection and labor they did on the car. I got the car back 1.5 days after dropping it off and am super happy with the results. Understanding that it was just a repaint and not a major repair. My bumper had some other damage unrelated to being hit and they fixed everything and the bumper looks fantastic and brand new. Once I got my car there, they repaired it under estimate and in less time than they originally quoted. I needed the front bumper replaced and the latch on my hatch repaired. Service was flawless and my 18 year-old car looks brand new. No seriously, look at the photos if you don't believe me. After consulting with one shop, I wasn't comfortable with their estimate. It seemed like over-repair: I have an 18 year old, low mileage BMW- but it is 18 years old. I even asked my insurance company if they could do a little less work. I did! The "other shop" wanted to replace the trunk lid, blah blah. It didn't need all that. You'd need a microscope to see the dimple from someone smacking me in the bumper. Trunk's not leaking, leave it alone. Don's Auto Body gave me a fair estimate, lower than the other guy. They were easy to work with, no nonsense with an accurate repair estimate. I also had them fix my front bumper, held on by a hope and a prayer after being pulled off multiple times by curb cuts and bolted and zip-tied back on by my patient mechanic. I covered that repair myself out-of-pocket. I thought the price was fair. All in all, my car looks brand new and the process from estimate to finish was so easy. I've used Don's for several years and always have been happy with their service. This time I went because I had some white "stuff" on the hood of my new car that wouldn't wash off. The Lexus body shop contractor told me they couldn't help me. I took it to Don's and they performed a mini-miracle - scraping the crap off and polishing it to new -- for $100. This is an emotional review for me to write, one that is laced with tears of trauma and gratitude. Last month, I had the misfortune of being side swiped by a big rig on the freeway while driving home late one evening. Both myself and my car suffered severe damage - mine was emotional and my car was physical. Service: the team at Don's took great care to keep me updated with details and photos of each stage of the repair process. The updates were very helpful and therapeudic for me to see how things were coming along. Collin was instrumental in ensuring I was kept updated on a weekly basis. Jeff was also helpful to promptly address any questions and any minor adjustments that needed to be made the day I took my car home. Repair Quality: I almost cried when I saw my repaired car post accident, it looked as close as possible to original condition. I was so grateful for the team of folks who worked hard to do such a good job of getting my car as close as possible to it's original condition. I was taken in by a guy in a parking lot by Safeway on 16th and Potrero who called himself Jim Colby. He said he could fix the scratches on my car, had years of detailing experience, and would offer me a great deal. Fast forward to after the work he botched and damaged the car paint. Don's Auto Body removed all the of paint they could and the car looks much better without the botched job done by scammer Jim (who's number was fake as well). They promised to deliver my car in 2 weeks and on the last day before their delivery deadline, they send me an email requesting additional money for some parts and it turns out that they haven't even started fixing the car. During that 2 weeks the car just laid down there. After they gave me a second deadline, on the day they claimed to deliver the car, they called me and let me know they haven't completed the job yet and asked for 3-4 more business days. Do not ever bring your car here, this is the worst car repair service ever. I am pretty sure their quality of repair will also be low considering my engagement with them so far. read more

I had several issues with Don, including some sloppy work--using epoxy to "fix" a loose antenna and trim piece, a hood that was not installed correctly and "fixing" a rotted floor pan by slapping fiberglass on it. My foot went through it when I stepped in the car. After several months of getting the runaround, the hood was eventually fixed properly and repainted and the floor was replaced The most egregious, however, was that someone went under the hood, cut the wires to my interior light and stole the plug which, on a vintage convertible beetle cannot be found anymore. I had to rewire it myself, which was not an easy job, and it is still missing the original part, as well as a couple of other hard to replace items. There were several other things that were bothersome, but after advocating for myself most of the problems with work quality were eventually resolved. To be fair, Don is capable of doing good work, you just have to stay on top of it. read more

We walked in with a broken tail light and one day before we left San Francisco (panicking to get it fixed) and they handled it with quickness, ease, and effectiveness.
