I have been coming to Golden Gate Autobody for years. They are honest, trustworthy and efficient. I brought in my car with a significant dent, scraped paint, and broken taillight. They popped out the dent and buffed the scraped paint so that damage was barely noticeable. They did this in 20 minutes and did not charge me for the work. So i went to this body shop for a repair on my right front damage he supposed to repair the front Bumper and the wheel and the tire my car was at the body shop for 2 and half months and after i got the car out they never changed my wheel so i have to leave the car another 3 days (we forgot to mount your tire on the wheel) the manager said.. Ivy and Min were great with me and my car. Ivy gave me a decent quote to fix my bumper, and gave me space to decide if I wanted to proceed. She figured out ways to bring the cost down since I'd be paying out of pocket instead of through insurance. She gave me a quote that would include a couple 'just in case' worst scenarios, and in the end it was cheaper because they didn't need to do those other things. She ordered from diff manufacturers when parts came in broken, and did it on my timeline (when I would be out of town). Complimentary tire check and interior cleaning/exterior wash down. The bumper looks GREAT, perfect match despite it being a unique colored car! Min also gave me tips on where to go for a tune up, and who to ask for. Great garage! A note: I was proactive in calling to check on the status. If you want them to be more communicative I recommend setting up specific check in times and let them know you want them to initiate. read more

Coming out of Yelp review retirement because Golden Gate Auto Body was just such a great experience I had to share. My car door was broken into years ago and the door sensor over the years became increasingly sensitive. Someone would be sitting on my passenger seat and the door would *ding* repeatedly despite the door being closed tightly. Today I called Golden Gate Auto Body and Min was able to squeeze me in at 2:30PM to examine the problem. He was very professional and was able to diagnose the problem right away. His team was able to fix and get me out of there within 10 minutes. And get this....they did all this for free! I brought my car in to get fixed after finding that it had been badly "keyed" on random spots throughout the car and also a busted tail light.. and it was the most seamless process ever. My Honda Fit was rear-ended in a hit-and-run in Oakland resulting in bumper damage, and also engine cover damage when I ran over a huge pothole (also in Oakland -- thanks Oakland!) I only had liability insurance and so had to pay out-of-pocket. I was referred to GG Auto Body by my mechanic at Auto Stop SF, and had a great experience with the team here. Min was able to take a look immediately, explained to me his initial assessment, why certain damage is more important to repair than others (i.e. due to safety), and gave me clear options and how it changes the cost. I got an itemized estimate, we ordered the parts and the work was completed all within a week after parts arrived! Throughout the process Min made sure I knew what my options are, what the cost of various parts and labor were, and how that affects both the appearance and safety of my car. When the bumper was removed we discovered additional damage, we reviewed the updated quote, and the parts were ordered and installed quickly. I always felt I had all the information needed to make the right decision for me and at my price point. I appreciated how GG really worked with me to help get my car back to its original condition, and never felt any push torward upselling. I would definitely come back again to get all my future repair work done here.
