I'm going to start by saying the food is phenomenal. Onion Rings are very good. I'd opt for something to dip them in. Chicken Caesar wrap was huge. Needed nothing. The rice bowl that I can't recall the name of was a little hot but not overbearing but I also got chipotle mayo on top but you can pick your sauces. The chicken thigh isn't my preference but I give it a strong 8.5-9. Drinks were expensive. Understandable maybe at an eat in restaurant and even then I'm kinda side eyeing the price. Overall this is a solid spot to eat. So I figured I'd get the good out of the way. We ordered from here expecting a wait. It was Saturday so ok. 2 and a half hour preorder. Food should be done at 8. We get there. Foods not ready. 41 minutes later. Verdant Cafe absolutely delivers. I tried the chicken Caesar wrap and the chicken lamb gyro, and both were an easy 5/5. The chicken Caesar wrap was huge, packed with flavor, and seriously satisfying. Every bite had the perfect balance of chicken, dressing, and crunch. But the chicken lamb gyro? That was next level. It was loaded, insanely flavorful, and honestly required two hands to handle. I would leave this place a ZERO!! When I placed an order for 2 items a wrap and bowl totally $43.00 dollars, they told me at least 40 minutes. They had other orders in front of mine fine. I waited for a bit then left and would just come back and get it. At an hour mark I returned to get the 2 items and they STILL were not done!! I asked the gentleman how long is the average ticket time? Cause and hour and 5 minutes is crazy for a wrap and bowl. Cute little place, not really an eat in restaurant despite having three tables. It's quicker to order online vs. going in person. Their menu is diverse - tacos, flatbreads, chicken sandwiches, gyros, burritos and rice bowls. Sorry I didn't take a pictures of our food. The burritos were huge, the lamb cheesesteak was amazing and the chicken sandwiches are fabulous. The chicken is thin crispy breaded patties with lots of different delicious flavors add a variety Of different ingredients and sauces. There are three tables inside if you decide to eat here. The food takes a while to be prepared so it is best to order ahead of time. Large servings for each meal. The interior of the place is very cute. The kind of place you don't mind lingering in or maybe working remotely from - I'm not sure that they offered wifi. Ordered a burrito with tofu instead of chicken. It was delicious and very large. I ate half then and half a few hours later. Service was OK. No one was up there when we came in. We ordered from the counter and then took a seat. It seemed like a place that should have table service, but that didn't seem to be the case as we also had to retrieve our food from the counter. read more

Found this place via Yelp while running errands with my mom in the area. I wanted something with some healthy options, and this sounded like it might fit the bill. The storefront itself is a plant-filled oasis in what looks like a run-down shopping center. There are lots of beautiful plants inside and out. I wanted to talk with them about it, but there was just a young person (perhaps the owner's child) at the counter to take and present orders. There are a couple of tables for eating in, though it looks like they do mostly takeout. We used the online menu to place our order. The menu is huge, with so many options it might make your head spin. I settled on a chicken caesar salad, which comes with quinoa oddly enough. (I didn't read the description beforehand.) There were more croutons than I prefer, so I left a lot of that on my plate. I ate it without dressing as well; the dressing was thankfully on the side and was a thick, creamy thing. But the chicken was really tasty. I was jealous of my mom's "red salad" with steak. It was beautiful and had a lot of greens. Her boyfriend's pork sandwich and fries also looked delicious. They both enjoyed them. With so many options (salads, wraps, hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, and more), I think it could be hard to get bored of this place. read more

Definitely order ahead on the app! There are tables there but it seems like it's more of a take out spot. We got the lamb gyro with spicy tzatiki sauce and it was delicious. Fresh! I am really stunned that this place exists, specifically where it exists. In a good way. Its' menu is probably the only place in South Jersey that reflects the areas diversity -- because most restaurants don't even try, come close, or accommodate for the prevailing palate. I've gone 3 times, and each item was as good or better than the other one. The ambiance is very social media pleasing but isn't really meant for Monday-Friday sit down. There was no interaction w staff until you pick up your food after ordering. He was nice enough for just handing me my bag. I got the Nashville hot tofu sandwich. The tofu was def not pressed at all. It was super mushy. Idk who would want a mushy tofu sandwich. I had to take it home and bake it for an hour before I could reconstruct the sandwich and finally eat it. It was tasty and spicy after fixing the texture. The second sandwich we got was the regular Nashville hot chicken sandwich and he thoroughly enjoyed that. I travel to NJ often for work. Verdant Cafe is my new go to! Some of the best food I have ever experienced on the road!

This food is fresh and made to order. I've had several of the sandwiches and they are all phenomenal. They also will prepare family meals. The staff is super friendly and it is family run. Even the kids take the order sometimes. I highly recommend this over the greasy food next door. Also I was going to post a picture of my food, but I destroyed it before taking to this post. Picked up food from here. Place is small with lots of greenery. Got the chicken quesadilla and buffalo chicken wrap. Both were bursting with delicious flavors. Both are on the spicy side the quesadilla more than the wrap. So don't make the mistake I did and get it for your kids. It was all good because I enjoyed it. Update- 2 years later and it's still great. They've definitely updated/upgraded the space - moved things around, added more plants, changed the menu. It's a super clean space. Warm and inviting with lots of options to choose from on their menu. Definitely a good spot for lunch and even on those nights where you don't feel like cooking, but want something hearty and filling.
