Drove an hour and didn't eat . I asked for dark chicken and was told no that they don't sell it that way, for a bbq place. You should be able to get what you want and wanted me to buy the white and throw it out if I wanted the dark chicken . Beyond the food, the place shines for how it supports veterans, offering a reusable "heroes" cup where a portion goes to veteran and first-responder charities and refills are free or discounted on return visits, which is a meaningful touch that keeps customers coming back with purpose. Almost every Wednesday evening right before 730 yoga, it's brisket and beer at Mission BBQ! This routine helps with that final climb over hump day! The food is good, the employees are friendly and helpful, and the story and mission behind Mission BBQ is awesome: "Proudly serving those who serve". They have regular "black plate" specials. My favorite is the espresso ribeye for $15. It is a good size portion of flavorful meat at an affordable price. For $5, you can get a "heroes cup", which gives you discounted refills on your subsequent visits. There is a variety of sauces on the table to dress your meat of choice which includes: chicken, brisket, turkey, and ribs. They also have salmon for you pescatarians. I have yet to try the desert options but the banana pudding is on my list to check off. They have outdoor seating and share a parking lot with Blaze Pizza next door. Kids meals are available which include sliders and Mac and cheese. They also have canned beers and a variety of other drinks if you're looking for something other than tea, lemonade, or fountain sodas. They also provide free meals to service men and women on certain holidays such as veterans day and 9.11 to recognize them. read more

Mission at SR 54 and Sunlake in Pasco has come to our rescue for this Thanksgiving with an added pre holiday get together. Matt and all his fantastic staff went over ideas and options with us and we have pre-ordered turkey by the pound (not sliced to keep in moisture and comes with cornbread), which is sold by the half pound, and we ordered several larger portion sides of green beans, baked beans, sweet potato mash, cheesy potatoes and apple cobbler. All for pick honest Tuesday. The SR 54 store is a warm and happy location, and we just had a fun birthday celebration there. Smiles abound with good food and fully tummies. This was our first time at this restaurant. The food was delicious! My husband ordered the lean brisket sandwich with cheesy potatoes and baked beans. I had the pulled chicken sandwich with cheesy potatoes and apple cobbler. It was all so good we didn't even take a picture! We had leftovers for sure. I need to rave about the customer service at this resturant! I brought my daughter and her friend here to eat and all I knew is they wanted Mac & Cheese. Suddenly one of the girls wanted a hamburger too. They both don't eat much and a hamburger would have been too much food. The cashier suggested maybe they could make a smaller hamburger. The cook instantly thought of the idea of cut a patty in half and putting it on a slider bun. Each girl ended up getting their own mini hamburger and Mac & Cheese. They devoured it all! I have been wanting to try this place! Happy I did from the moment I stepped in the entire staff was kind and welcoming. The young lady greeted me immediately and I believe the manager nice guy introduced himself. I asked her recommendation for sides. I enjoyed her recommendations. I got two meats and two sides with cornbread about $22-23. The amount of food was big for me I made it into two meals. I got the brisket (moist) and jalapeño cheddar sausage. French fries and Mac and cheese. I enjoyed everything. The brisket melts in your mouth no sauce needed. The Alabama White creamy one is the best! I will definitely return. I want to try their ribs and collard greens ( the greens were out) I hear they are popular. I love the boardwalk style fries and the "old bay" reminds me of where I grew up in Maryland. My wife and I usually come here for lunch. The place is clean, and décor is dedicated to honoring the military. You order the food at the counter and they call your name once your food is ready. The drinks here are self serve fountain and I like how they use a tool box for things like straws, salt, pepper and lids. At the table you find a six pack of various bbq sauces and a role of paper towels. If you never been to a mission bbq before I would suggest looking up the menu in advance otherwise you'll have the cheerful person at the register looking at you waiting patiently to take your order which kind of rushes you along. The staff here are very friendly and on occasion they even offer to fill your drink. The food comes out quickly and is at a good temperature. The brisket is very good, the chicken can be dry at times, the ribs fall off the bone and have a nice bark, and my favorite is the jalapeño sausage. The sides are good and my favorite are the beans and Mac & cheese. In my option a great lunch stop or quick, easy dinner. read more

In a world where customer service is no longer a priority for most places, thank goodness we have Mission BBQ. I visit the State Road 54 location about three times a month, and each time I'm there, I am further impressed with them. The BBQ is top notch. I'm addicted to the jalapeño sausage and don't sleep on the cheeseburger. It's seasonal but if they have the blueberry cobbler, you gotta get it. I would never have ordered it myself but the young lady who takes care of the customers brought me a sample. Since then, I'm hooked. I get their model of catering to Veterans, but that customer care goes to all, as I was not in the service. Love everything about the place and will be back next week. read more

After running around today we decided to stop in for some Barbecue and we were pleased with our choice. We were promptly greeted by a very nice young lady who took our order and my husband being a veteran was given a free banana pudding. Once you give your order you can get your drink and be seated until you are called. We were called quickly and received nice hot tender meat sandwiches. My husband had brisket cooked to perfection and I had pulled pork. There is an assortment of sauces to top it off. The staff are pleasant and seemed to really love what they do. First off, customer service was the best I have EVER seen and I've been to quite a few places. I stopped by a couple days ago with my husband and daughter. Upon entering there was a very loud and enthusiastic welcome that I have never received from any restaurant before. Our cashier, Emma, was sweet enough to go over the menu with us and was very thorough. (She was also the one who greeted us.) She introduced herself and even asked for my name, which most people typically ask for my husband's so I was pleasantly surprised. She gave us a coloring sheet and a free kids cup since my daughter didn't want anything but fries. And if that wasn't enough, our food was beyond amazing. I had two meats of chicken and brisket moist, cheese potato casserole?, and per Emma's advice, an apple dessert with no caramel drizzle. My husband also got one, but he had caramel on his, it is much better without it. In the dining area, we had yet again another lovely lady who was very attentive the entire time, took our trays, checked in on us, and was very very kind to us and especially my daughter. Her smile was extremely contagious! When I went up to ask Emma for Heidi's name(I was a little embarrassed that Heidi had told me and I couldn't remember...), she actually wrote it down for me and told me to leave a review on Heidi. I'm not sure if it's just training or if one of their hiring people has an extremely good eye, but I wish every restaurant I've been too could be even half as nice. Stopped by Mission BBQ Saturday for lunch with my wife. This is the third mission I've been to while the first experience for my wife. My wife ordered the chopped brisket sandwich which comes with a sauce already on the meat. The sauce is tangy and tasty. She also ordered the Mac and cheese which is some of the best in town. The green beans are another side that tastes great! I always order the brisket sandwich and every time the brisket is amazing and just perfectly cooked. We lastly split the banana pudding which is absolutely fantastic! I really enjoy the consistency with each mission location and I highly recommend visiting any of the mission bbq spots. read more

We curry live in Nashville TN, so naturally we eat a lot of BBQ. Today here in Flordia i ate the brisket moist . It was the best ever, it melted in your mouth from tenderness to amazing flavor . This is our second time here and all I have to say is WOW! The food is all made from scratch and made with love. We have tried the baby backs, moist brisket, pulled pork, Mac n cheese, green beans, collard greens and corn bread. All Amazing! Now the service. It is world class. They say hi when you come in, they smile from ear to ear (always) and do what it takes to make customers happy and comfortable. After we ate, I walked up and asked about the banana pudding and moved on. While we walked out the door the guy I asked, ran out and handed me a side of that amazing pudding! It is a walk up and grab your food type of service, however the dining area is well decorated with veterans and first responders photos everywhere to celebrate them for their service. Very cool. The service was outstanding, imo the sausage needed to be cooked longer, the ribs were overcooked and extremely salty, and the brisket was good and tender some of the pieces were a little too salty. The sides were average, and the potato salad had potential it needed a little salt and wasn't made like your traditional potato salad, I did like it, but coleslaw needed a little salt and probably a little more vinegar in it. I would have to say the best-tasting thing on my plate was the cornbread. read more
