Sampler platter with baked beans, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and brisket
    Erin A.

All I wanted for my birthday was the Mission BBQ turkey sandwich and their Mac & Cheese!!! I am absolutely in love with this place. You are welcomed as soon as you come in the door - the staff is so courteous and will give you a sample if you aren't sure what you want. We got my sandwich (which had enough meat on it for two) and a sampler platter with pulled chicken, pulled pork, and brisket - and some baked beans. The prices are super reasonable and if you aren't full when you leave you might want to stop at a hospital afterwards because you might have something wrong It's a casual place that reminds you that our country was built on the backs of selfless Americans in the military, fire, and police! God bless them all and God Bless Mission BBQ

My goodness I just love Mission BBQ!! They are warm and welcoming and the place just smells delicious. They are a little pricey in my opinion but I will go there as often as I can afford it. It's just that good. My wife loves the Memphis Belle sauce. It's a sweeter sauce but she says it's best ever for her. I love the brisket, chicken, and turkey! Their Mac n cheese is delicious but does have bread crumbs on top which I love but some might have an issue with and not know will be on it. So be aware. Their cornbread is great although a tad dry usually. I definitely recommend eating here early and often! They honor our first responders and military which is great.

    Brisket sandwich....sooooo good!

Stopped by to grab a Brisket sandwich for lunch on a weekday. It was so loaded the box could hardly close! Also was fortunate to get a free order of fries from the manager. Great service and great food!

Five stars for this great spot - convenient location, friendly staff, perfectly prepped food! Everything at this busy location here was clean and well kept. The service was super friendly, and the long line moved quickly. The food was excellent. I'd you've never been to a Mission BBQ before, everything here is freshly made - no microwaves, no frozen fries. Pulled pork and chicken, brisket, ribs, you name it. The sides are all excellent and the sauces are delicious (be sure to try the Alabama white sauce - you have to ask for it!) There's a great selection of bottled drinks, including Cheerwine!, but I don't look any further than the fresh, delicious sweet tea. Stop here if you can. You won't regret it!

This place is perfect for a quick bite. I love their atmosphere, vibes, and mission. The customer service is always top tier as the employees are always smiling. I don't know who is cooking in the kitchen but they never miss. I always get their pulled chicken sandwich (sometimes I go for the kids meal) and their Mac and cheese. They're consistent with flavors and they pretty much have a choose your own adventure when it comes to the sauce. They have sauce and they don't keep it a secret. You can even purchase their signature Sauces to enjoy at home.

Absolutely delicious bbq. It ranks as one of the top BBQ places I have been in a long time. Meal 1: brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese was perfect. Nice crust on brisket, good smoke and seasoned well. Mac and cheese was nice and creamy. Meal 2: Turkey, brisket platter with fresh cut fries. Turkey was moist and brisket was perfect. We also tried a few ribs and the meat just fell off the bones! Finished with an amazing bannana pudding. This franchise can compete with any local bbq joint.pictures don't do it justice.

Amazing !!! Lunch was wonderful!! I loved the salmon, the meat trio was great. The cheesy potatoes was incredible. I really enjoyed this lunch. This will definitely be in our restaurant rotation. I highly recommend this place!! Will return again and again !

Texas style BBQ. The restaurant is clean and service is good. Brisket and turkey are tasty and plentiful. Loved the creamy cold slaw and baked beans. Will definitely be back!

Mission BBQ is a barbecue restaurant chain that has locations in many states. Their mission is to serve those who serve us, particularly military members, police officers, firefighters, and first responders. The restaurant also donates millions of dollars to national and local charitable organizations. This location in Monroeville opened in July 2023, and one of my family members who served in the military for decades wanted to come here. As my family members and I walked into the restaurant, an employee kindly held open the door for us. Inside the restaurant, we saw many tables and booths. My husband walked to the front to order foods and drinks while the rest of us waited at our tables. Here are my reviews for our foods: Brisket - 5 stars - This brisket had a wonderful smokey flavor. Ribs - 5 stars - My family member ate these ribs. He said that these ribs tasted good. The meat was tender and easily came off the bones. Turkey - 5 stars - This sliced turkey was juicy and tasted good. Salmon - 5 stars - This salmon was a good size, it was cooked well, and it had a flavorful seasoning. Cornbread - 5 stars - This cornbread was moist, and I liked that packets of honey were available. Green beans - 4.5 stars - These green beans contained some bacon. Baked beans - 4.5 stars - These baked beans were extremely flavorful. French fries - 5 stars - These fries were freshly cut and fried, and they had a tasty seasoning. Strawberry shortcake - 5 stars - An employee asked my family member about his military service, and then he brought us two free strawberry shortcakes as a thank-you. This dessert consisted of moist cake, a good amount of fresh strawberries, and sweet whipped cream. Coleslaw - ? - My family member ate this coleslaw, and he seemed to enjoy it. It looked crispy and creamy.

lean brisket baked beans, smashed potatoes with gravy and cornbread .

The BBQ is always really good. The service is very friendly , and the ambiance is great ! I love how they honor all the Vets, firefighters and police.

Really nice environment. Nice people. Gave warm greetings. Good temperature inside. Foods amazing. Good variety. Hot, well seasoned, filling. They gave us free fries. Best cornbread I've ever tasted. That Mac n cheese though. Wow. Mad at myself for not trying this place sooner. Now I'm gonna try and get everyone I know to come with me so I can try everything on the menu. Lol and the prices are reasonable. Thanks for a good time.

First impression was that the color scheme, decorations, and menu all seemed to be dated and uninspired. The staff were polite and attentive. I ordered the salad and Salmon Oscar. The salad was good and the blue cheese dressing I chose was house-made. It was good. My girlfriend got the wedge salad which I think was a bit expensive since it was a $6 up charge for a wedge of iceberg lettuce from the standard salad that came with the entrees. My Salmon Oscar with asparagus was very good. I enjoyed every bite of the salmon and crab. My daughter's chicken parm came with a ton of linguini. My girlfriend got the signature crab cakes which she said were mostly crab and not filler. So while I thought the menu was dated when reading it the food was well executed.

My wedding soup and my husband's French onion soup were delicious. The wedding soup was loaded with meatballs and chicken. My husband has a thing for French onion soup and tries it every chance he gets. He said this may have been the best ever. We split a Reuben sandwich and upgraded to onion rings. The waitress brought us each a half portion so we didn't have to divide it ourselves, which was nice. There was plenty of meat on the sandwich, making it acceptable, not great but good enough. Onion rings were very good. Dessert sounded tempting, a cherry crème brûlée. It was okay, kind of like cherry jello with a sugar crust on top. A bit disappointing to say the least. Our waitress was on top of filling the water glasses and was very nice. Now for the bad news and why I'm only giving 3 stars. I went to the ladies room before eating and there was no hot water to wash my hands. I asked my husband if the men's room had hot water and he said no. We both let it run but it never got hot, not even warm. Then I noticed (after drinking several glasses of water unfortunately) that there was a crack in my water glass. I mentioned it to my husband and he said, "you should see the chips in the glass tabletop over her on my side". I get it that wear and tear happens, but these things should be caught before serving guests. And as far as the hot water...how do servers and kitchen workers properly clean their hands after using the toilet without hot water? So the food is fairly solid and reasonably priced. But be on the lookout for chipped glassware and table tops. And use your own hand sanitizer if you have it!

Got a Pinot noir wine and waters Starter=soup of the day: tomato w/ chickpea and chorizo- bold tomato flavor and lots of arugula in it. Not so much chorio but flavor was very good, not overly salty. 10/10 After the soup we put our nit-picking goggles on as we knew this was a pretty sophisticated meal. Daily special- pan seared mahi mahi with asparagus fennel kohlabi and arugula salad citrus buerre Blanc. Light citrus flavor is found thru the mahi mahi, its sauce and the salad. Very congruent. Asparagus was a neutral addition. Not flowing with or against the mahi. Fish was cooked well. Just lots of raw red onion on the salad was a little overpowering. 7/10 Red wine braised short rib- didn't ask how well done, so seems chefs choice. We have a preference towards med rare. This was cooked well done making it a tad tough-stringy. Mashed potatoes with some larger pieces of potato, but very neutral plain flavor, great with the beef sauce. Carrots cooked well, just neutral, natural flavor. Overall a very classic flavor combo that works.7/10. Would stop by again to try more dishes. Ps- when paying we noticed final bill to sign was more than first bill at table. When we asked why the difference we were told it's the credit card fee of $3. This was really the first time I've seen this at a restaurant, yet alone at a decent place like one. Would have been best for them to tell us this upfront.

We happen to be in the area so after about three years of avoiding them, I said why not give them another try. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was exceptional. It had a pleasant ambiance you could actually have a great conversation without excessive noise. I ordered the fish dinner and did they ever redeem themselves. It was no longer like Mrs. Paul's frozen fish, two very nice meaty breaded filet served with French fries that were hot and crispy cooked just right. Great snap when you crunched them. The breading on the fish was not overpowering and the fish itself was large and robust with the flavor of fresh caught cod. I was very impressed. Our waitress Caleigh who was wonderful. She was very attentive and checked on us regularly. I think Max & Erma's finally got it right. I certainly give them a standing ovation on this one.

Max & Erma's went from a quaint downtown restaurant to a decent regional chain with pretty reasonable prices. This location was convenient for a bunch of people coming from different directions. They make a great Long Island Iced Tea (not as good as Carl's Tavern, but who does?) and also has some pretty good food. We got some of their fried pickles as an appetizer and wow, they were really good. They could have been bigger pieces of pickle, but they were crispy and not soggy at all. I ordered the Pittsburgh Salad with Grilled Chicken and ranch dressing and it was delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their meals, the service was good and the final bill for all of us didn't break the bank. I'd go back!

Circling the small parking lot looking for your spot, reminiscing on the alumni sports team photos on the walls, and doing the twist in the entryway to navigate your way to your takeout, Gateway Grill is not much... but the food is usually fire!!! The pizza slices have big bubbling crusts with pepperoni so rustic cut that you will wonder if they accidentally gave you the whole piece... over and over again. Don't sleep on their meatball pizza. Because you will have basically full size meatballs for every slice... and they are delightful. We had family in and bought a large order - and we opted to try their sandwiches. The Chuck Roast sandwich and Turkey Rachel both sounded delicious... and Gateway Grill does have fresh smoked meats too! Takeout is a trip. In a full restaurant, you have to kinda stand in the way at the front counter and flag down someone to grab your order. But they definitely do a lot of to-go pizzas so you'll be able to handle it. Unfortunately, with their current to-go containers, the sandwiches ended up being sopping wet with condensation... the bottom toasted bread on both was basically dripping instead of crunchy. The fries had lost all texture too- air fryer to the rescue. I'd still recommend going - just stick to only pizza when ordering takeout until they find a way to ensure quality of other options.
