Who would have thought a bbq spot would have salmon on the menu. I had to try it and it was very good! It's the way I like my salmon and the male staff their suggested a specific white sauce to pair with it that they have refrigerated so you'd have to ask for it. I tried it with their other sauces but it truly was best with the white sauce. Mac n Cheese was sooooo freaking good and great beans we pretty good as well!! Barbeque is not an easy game. Personally., I take my bbq very seriously. I've tried, Texas, Memphis, Kansas City, North Carolina, Mississippi, and Florida. Mission doesn't cut it and here's how they can improve: Decor: I love the decor. I think it's absolutely amazing how they highlight our service members of all backgrounds. The warmth of the wood tones are just enough without it being overpowering. I got the "service" feel without it being too niche or trying too hard. I don't know if i would change a single thing. 10/10 Service: It's a seat yourself type of establishment so there isn't much service. However, there are table attendants that walk around and see to you needs should you have them. I love the laid back nature of the service and I have found each person I've interacted with to be very kind. From the cashiers to the chefs I felt welcomed and appreciated. 10/10 Food: What it's all about. We have been here several times and have tried, brisket, pulled pork, chicken,turkey and sausage. The dark meat chicken is great. Tender, juicy, and has a nice flavor. I would like the skin a little crispier to get that "burnt end" feel but that's just me being picky. The white meat.... it's dry as the sahara desert. Not even sauce can save it. I get chicken every time and it's always dry. The pulled pork and sausage lack smokey flavor for me. I like my pulled pork juicy and smokey. I find there's not horrible, just needs more flavor. The sauces help the flavor aspect so I wouldn't be surprised if they under seasoned things so people can choose the overall flavor. The sausage is a HUGE miss for me. Just don't order it. I feel the same way about the brisket. No one does brisket better than Texas. If you're not going to do it Texas style, then leave it off the menu. My husband LOVES the turkey. He finds it tender and packed with flavor. The major afterthought are the sides. For the love of all things holy I beg Mission to focus on the sides. The fresh cut fries and the broccoli salad are the only things I will order. Everything else is not up to my southern standards. The mac and cheese is inedible, the coleslaw is sacrilegious, and the baked beans taste like they come from a can. It's just sa miss. I want whoever to design the sides to spend a month in Big Mama's kitchen and learn a thing or two. Overall Mission BBQ can be a pleasant experience as long as you know what to order. I still prefer other barbeque but if you're on this side of town or looking for a bbq taste better than Sonny's you'll do just fine at Mission. read more

Not sure what happened with the brisket-was drier than normal so we clearly got the end. When we ask about it, Gabby went above and beyond! I was ready to leave at the first site but my partner was hungry so I decided to give it a chance. Let me tell you! The brisket was so dry it was like I was eating a boot. Top notch service and great tasting food. Visited here twice. First time it was not too busy, later in the evening. Place our order and barley had time to get our drinks when they called for our food. The brisket was awesome!!! Tender, moist and nearly melted in my mouth. I loved the atmosphere inside. It's been a few months since we've eaten here...unfortunately tonight was disappointing...unfriendly service and mediocre food. We arrived at 8:15pm. Employees seemed more focused on socializing amongst themselves and their family/friends in the dining room...and also focused more on closing too. Not one employee thanked us or came by our table. The brisket sandwich was on a cold (not soft) bun with tough meat. They used to welcome folks as you entered the dining room too! Place has gone down hill. The ribs were trird out. The sauces helped, but not much. The mac and chees dried out. The potato salad well my wife said no to it after one bit. The worst of it was the brisket plate. It seemed i got the grease part cur iff and no meat. I did not fi d any brisket. Just pieces of fat lumpeded together. The bbacked beans okay, the corn bread good but tried out. I just tried Mission BBQ for the first time yesterday with some friends and holy smokes (pun intended) they make incredible smoked brisket! I got the meat market 1/2 lb.. portion lean and it was the finest brisket I have tasted outside of Texas! Tender, but with a little tooth, no e and salty but not overly perfect amount of smoke flavor and the classic extra beefy brisket flavor! My buddy got his "moist" which looked awesome as well, kind of chopped or pulled, mounded in with some extras jus. Sides were good too. I tried the baked beans which were just okay, but their collard greens were excellent as was the mac n' cheese. The cornbread was very good too, they did a good job with making it subtly sweet and on the dryer side, sort of a cross between classic southern style and the popular overly sweet variation you get most places. They also have a couple of okay beer selections to go with the Q. The sauce selection was really just okay. They have a couple of classic sweet style sauces and a few other choices that are a bit overworked with flavors that didn't really complement the flavor of the meat. The large mustard based vinegar type sauce was the best if the bunch, but they need a good spicy variety that is either more on the vinegar side or sweet or one if each. Service was also fantastic, very friendly, attentive and helpful. will be back here, I suspect quite a bit too often. Makes me a bit sad for my own brisket smoking efforts though. read more

My wife and I went to the Lady Lake location this evening. We will never go back. My wife's baby back ribs were nothing but fat, I mean no meat on them and her fries were way over cooked. My salmon was over cooked, very dry, and was almost as small as a McDonald's fish. This cost us $38.00. Way over priced. I would never recommend them. read more

One of the best BBQ places in Florida hands down. Everything is made fresh daily and you can really taste it. They don't even have a freezer because nothing is ever frozen. The ribs fall off the bone and melt in your mouth and the brisket was to die for. The Mac and cheese was creamy and gooey and don't get me started on the baked beans with smoked brisket inside. on top of the amazing food the environment is one of my favorite things about this place. Everyone working there makes you feel like you are part of this little family and it's so great. A place dedicated to all branches of military and police and firefighters is really something to see. Great brisket sandwich. Highly recommend the lean. The Mac n cheese was also really good. Place is rather open and echos which means it's pretty loud in there. Hard to hear yourself think. The kitchen seemed a little chaotic but they seemed to get it together. The pork and slaw was good. Typical BBQ that is done really well. Pleasantly surprised. Maybe a rush not yet caught up on but lots of dirty tables. Ppl carry the food but they should still be wiped down regularly. Noticed other customers wiping their own table (me too). The bathroom wasn't "off I95 dirty" but did need attention. Overall I think the staff and the food were great. The other issues you can live with but that's the 5th star on the experience right.
