I had 2 hours to kill before my flight at Orlando International Airport. Mission BBQ is 3.8 miles away & my Hubs made the call to stop in and eat here vs the airport. I'm so glad we did! I'm not going into politics as I've seen peppered in other reviews. I'll just make a note that you can feel the pride and respect of honoring all lines of those who serve and are currently serving in ever nook and cranny of the restaurant. I got the meat platter with collard greens and bbq beans to split with my husband. We chose pulled pork, wet brisket (vs lean brisket), and jalapeño cheese sausage. The lemonade is perfectly tart and sweet; a perfect pairing with the meal. I LOVE the sauce options. There was 6 standard bottles, 1 seasoned vinegar in a glass bottle, & Alabama white which seemed like you had to ask for; it was left from the previous patrons & not on any other tables I could see. - Alabama white looks like ranch but is smooth and creamy with hints of mustard and spices. Probably would pair well with chicken. - Tupelo honey heat and Florida Gator Bite were our top 2 faves. Sweet and spicy with a more watery consistency. - Smoky Mtn and Memphis Belle reminded me of KC Masterpiece with the thick consistency and sweetness. More tomato base & less vinegar. ALL the meats were excellent; you could taste the smokiness and overall quality of the ingredients. The brisket was fatty as to be expected. I saw a few complaints but if you have ever cooked one, you'd know it's just the way the meat is. If you're wary of too much marbling...pick something like ribs or the pulled pork, etc. Regardless Covid protocols; apx half the staff was masked, half were not. They have wet wipes available if you want to disinfect your table, etc prior to eating. 100% would eat here again if remotely close to any of their locations. None sadly of which are in CA. I rarely give out 5-star reviews, but Mission BBQ has the whole package. Fantastic food, a good cause, consistently amazing customer service from the entire staff. Where do I begin... Adorned all over its walls are photos of law enforcement, military heroes, and motivational quotes. It's mission is to honor first responders and when you purchase a reusable cup, a portion of the purchase price goes to the cause on the cup. They switch up the cups seasonally to promote various organizations including 9/11 Memorial, First Responders, Honor Flight, and Wreath Across America during the holidays. Bring the cups back on your next visit and refills are a fraction of the normal cost. It's a chain, that doesn't feel like a chain. The employees are so friendly and remember you the next time you visit. It's quick service but all meats are smoked in-house and you are lured in by the smell in the parking lot. And yes, it tastes as good as it smells. The half chicken meat falls off the bones. The salmon is my favorite and seasoned just right with a dusting of Cajun spices. Add some white sauce or their own mustard sauce, Cole slaw on the side and I'm good to go. Meat platters are all tasty for whatever your choice - pork, ribs, beef. Speaking of seasonal, they have a standard list of sides such as baked cheesy potatoes (so good!), Cole slaw, fries, baked beans and more, then they swap out seasonal sides with veggies in season or holiday cobblers. I've heard great things about this place and I'm so glad that I went here to find out for myself! First off, the smell of great BBQ meets you in the parking lot. The ambience is so inviting because it show cases the heroes of our communities, you name it every military branch and every emergency response partners are displayed. I love it! The decor reminds me of a barnyard backyard dining area. All by itself speaking of comfort food, just real homey and inviting. We ordered 3 separate meals. I had the brisket that comes with 2 sides and cornbread. Hubby had rack of ribs and same sides and my son had the kid meal. I'm going 4 stars fir quality of the meat **** The place wasn't packed so that was nice especially during Covid. Parking wasn't bad but your not fitting a big recreational vehicle in here. The ordering process was different but I actually liked it and it also reminded me of a few places I've been to in Texas. What I liked the most was that the fact that they trim the meat. Everyone I get pulled pork it always has a ton of fat and it hacks me off because I didn't pay for fat. If they would toast their buns here this sandwich would be top notch imo but since it was just a cold pieces of bread it lacked that awesomeness that this really should be. Wow this place is amazing. Lots of welcoming faces and they treat Vets right. My 85 year old father who served in the Army felt so dazzled by the great warm staff here it was tremendous. The food is stellar, most tender brisket and turkey ever. Had to go back for a take out order for the wife after we ate a feast which was the salmon. She loved it and the collards were so tasty as well. This place is better then 4Rivers and that is so high up the scale here in Orlando. Great prices too! read more

Yay! We finally have Mission BBQ near us! They have THE best brisket ever! You choose whether you want it juicy or dry, which basically means with or without fat. I stopped by to pick up dinner for my husband and me so I wanted to try EVERYTHING! I got two "two meat" deals with jalapeño cheese sausage and brisket in one and pulled chicken and pulled pork. I ordered a side of cheesy potatoes and coleslaw. The meats came with slightly sweet and very moist cornbread. So delicious! I also got an assortment of sauces- Gator Bite, Tupelo Honey, KC and hot. First time eating at Mission BBQ and it was a fantastic experience! We walked in and the employee at the counter/kiosk was very welcoming. He gave us a great laugh saying he knew it was our first time since we stood back to look at the menu instead of walking up to the counter. Another employee,, possibly the owner, directly walked up to us and took his time to explain us the menu. After ordering, you take a seat and they call you when your food is ready to be picked up at the counter. Our food came out quickly and everything tasted great! Before we left, the same employee that explained us the entire menu came back up to our table to have a chat and had a great conversation. Would it be bad to start a review about a barbecue joint by saying, "they have awesome sweet tea"?! Well, they do. Sat outside on a gorgeous afternoon enjoying a two protein dinner; salmon and brisket. The salmon came highly recommended by the staff. It's a very large piece of fish, a tad dry and a tad fishy tasting but otherwise good. Make sense? The brisket is also good portioned. The meat was cooked medium well. Fall off the fork tender with a variety of sauces to lather it in. Of course I had to try all 6 sauces (as you might too). I enjoyed the Memphis Belle and the Texas twang the most. If you like a bit of sweet and tanginess, these are for you. They also offer a smoky mountain, KC classic, Florida gator bite and Tupelo Honey heat sauces. I did get one side... coleslaw. It was OK. Nice place. The BBQ here is pretty good. Today I sampled the brisket and original sausage with potato salad on the side. The brisket was tender, tasted good but a bit on the bland side. I really enjoyed the original sausage it had nice snap to it and tasty with a not so heavy smoke. The potato salad was delicious and rounded out the plate very well. This was our first visit here after a recommendation by someone on FB and they were not wrong. The food was absolutely delicious and beat our usual bbq spot easily. We were welcomed in as we opened the door and when we told the young lady at the counter that it was our first time she went through the whole menu with us to help us make the best choices. There were six different sauces on the tables and every one of them was delicious. The place has a nice relaxed vibe and honors the military, fire services and the police service with badges and banners and family photog everywhere. I think that they really made it experience great. I really wish there was a branch closer to the theme parks rather than the airport but, it's definitely worth driving out to eat. The system of calling out names to pick up food is a bit annoying In my opinion, but not enough to impact the experience. I got the brisket XL platter with a drink and Mac and cheese. For the price, I was expecting a larger portion of Brisket, but it wasn't bad! My guest got the chicken XL platter with cole slaw. The brisket was very tender and juicy. I got the full fat portion instead of the lean, and I was impressed on how little fat my portion had! The Mac and cheese was gooey and pretty tasty too! It went very well with the meal. The corn bread was nice and fluffy with a light corn meal crunch. My guest said her chicken was delicious with a nice smoked meat flavor. The cole slaw here came with was not overly dressed and had a nice clean and crisp flavor. The table had a nice collection of different BBQ sauces. A new location for this chain, close to the airport, off of Semoran. There are a fair number of restaurant chains in this area, and we were kinda surprised to see them open this one up over here, but are thrilled to have one closer to our house now! We usually go to their Oviedo location, as it was the closest before this one opened. This one feels smaller than the Oviedo one, but not by much. The overall vibe is the same. You walk in and order at the register. From there you pick up your food at the end of the counter when it's ready. They have paper menus you can read, or you can check out the more popular options on the menu hanging over the registers. The staff was friendly here and they were quick to help with getting a high-chair and our food to the table with the little one. The food was good and as expected from our previous trips to their sister location. I like the smoked chicken meal / platter. Hubs usually does the pulled pork sandwich. There are several BBQ sauces on the table, from sweet to spicy to smokey - something for everyone. I really like their cornbread, and they have honey behind the counter - just ask. This location just opened recently and I'd never been to any of the others so we decided to stop in for lunch and try it out. The restaurant itself is welcoming, bright, and clean. We were greeted by the person working behind the counter (you order at the counter and then they call your name when the food is ready). She was friendly and explained the menu items to us. I ordered brisket with a side of macaroni and cheese and my boyfriend got pulled pork with fries. The food was ready after a short wait. The tables have six different sauces to try and then there are some additional sauces in the area where you grab napkins and lids for drinks. It was hard to choose which sauce I liked best! They definitely have something for everyone. I ended up liking one that had Worcestershire and A1 since it complimented the brisket nicely. The brisket was good and tender. The macaroni and cheese was delicious! My boyfriend enjoyed his meal as well. I thought the portion size was pretty big, I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. The latest restaurant in the Lee Vista/Airport neighborhood. It's been only two days since it open on Aug 26 and already the big buzz around my office so I had to try it today. The place is very inviting and so clean. You immediately get greeted by the host. I place my order (prices are reasonable) and in less than 10 minutes, my food arrives. I ordered the brisket,and jalapeno/cheese sausage with two sides (mac n cheese, string beans w/bacon). The brisket and sausage was good however, size portions are very small. I was looking for somewhere to eat, but it was a busy Saturday I bumped into this place looking for parking and I decided to give it a try first of all the minute you walk in it was very inviting open space and they serve you at the counter as you order and call your name, it felt very personal and intimate. Thank goodness Mission BBQ is close to my house. Hubby and I were shopping nearby when my mom sent text photos of her BBQ meal she was eating in California which ignited this urge to eat BBQ as well. All of a sudden I was craving meat. We decided to stop by Mission BBQ to give in to our cravings. We each ordered the 2 meat sampler. We both ordered the lean brisket--- his with ribs and side of fries--- mine with jalapeño sausage and side of Mac and cheese. Each sampler came with a side of cornbread. I really like the decor inside all paying tribute to our men and women in uniform. The brisket was moist and flavorful and the ribs were seasoned nicely. The jalapeño sausage was juicy--- loved the snap when biting into it. Fries were okay . I have a thing for cornbread but theirs was very dry unfortunately. I put lots of butter and drowned it with honey to moisten it up, but it didn't help. After a while, i felt like I was just eating butter and honey on a cardboard. Maybe it was sitting out too long.
