Initially, the leasing experience was positive, and the staff were attentive. However, after signing the lease, my experience changed significantly. Communication became inconsistent, and interactions with office staff were often unprofessional. During my tenancy, there were recurring maintenance issues, including frequent fire alarm activations and periodic water outages. Despite these disruptions, rent and additional fees remained unchanged, which was frustrating given the circumstances. Security has also been a major concern. Over the course of my stay, my motorcycle was stolen, my car was broken into, and multiple packages went missing. Unfortunately, I did not feel that these incidents were adequately addressed by either the leasing office or corporate management, and follow-up communication was lacking. Noise levels were another ongoing issue. Between nearby traffic, trains, and disturbances from other residents at various hours, it was often difficult to enjoy a quiet living environment. When concerns were raised, responses from management suggested that these issues were considered "normal," which did not align with my expectations as a tenant. I also question the authenticity of some of the positive reviews, as residents are encouraged to leave feedback upon move-in and to mention specific staff members. This may not fully reflect long-term living experiences. After escalating concerns to corporate management, I received notices on my door, which felt retaliatory rather than constructive. Additionally, the presence of unauthorized individuals on or near the property raised further concerns about safety and oversight. Been here for awhile and I'm ready to just get out after a few years . In those years my car was towed 3 times . My guest cars were towed . Alarms always go off for hours . My work van just got towed again after asking for a parking permit for months and them saying they're not towing cars at the moment because they're out of stickers . I just got back from traveling to Texas for work and the I guess they're back to towing cars . The fact that you have to deal with this and fear for your guest cars to get towed . The Lofts are unmatched. I've lived in other places before coming here and I can say without a doubt that they do it better here. Lena, Jose, Dani, Haylee, Tyler, Maria, and everyone who works here have made this location such a joy to live at. The neighbors are great and we love our apartment, it is home through and through. It's a bit bizarre to see folks bash this place for things that they know exist before even signing on. We were made well aware of the train before we even finished the tour and we were on board knowing full well there would be noise. The staff make every attempt to help residents when things arise. I had an issue with a homeless person poking around my apartment and Lena helped me sort it out asap. Jose has been the most helpful and handy person on the planet. He's even come after hours to help me sort out some things in my apartment. I love using the amenities and the property is well maintained. It's a great location to live as well with good access to downtown! I have noticed stray cats in the past, but they don't cause any issues. They look like they've been fixed by the looks of their ears since they've been tipped. They are not disease ridden that's just a harmful misconception. This street seems to be home to strays as they live down the street from what I seen. Them stopping by is inevitable, but they are not pests as others have seemingly implied. If you leave them be they will roam away as they roamed in. If you take reviews at face value then it can be easy to get carried away. The overwhelming regard for the lofts speaks for itself. Update: shouldn't the office be the ones to contact local animal control? The stray cat issue has been a problem for years and only getting worse. I counted at least 8 of them in one afternoon. Feral cats not only damage cars but they carry many diseases that are airborne as well. The office knows that this is an issue yet no one has contacted animal control all this time? You don't care that they leave behind feces, urine, and disease? Flashback to 2022, my best friend since college undergrad and I were finally approached by the opportunity to move in together, something that we'd always dreamed about and talked with since we became much closer back in 2015. We wanted to find the perfect place to live and really thrive together as we dove headfirst into our postgraduate careers and although we were thinking of saving money looking at relatively shabby but cheaper apartments, we were immediately drawn by the Mission Lofts. Lena was integral in helping us stay here and since then she and Haylee had been instrumental in us having the absolute best time at the Lofts. It's a cute little community that's well worth the money, super convenient because we're right next to DTR. There are a few things that are a little annoying like the fact that parking is a bit of a nightmare or that the train is right there and very loud, so if those things matter to you think carefully. Luckily for me, I've lived next to a train for a very long time so I don't even hear it anymore. The best part about living here is how peaceful the community is and how sweet and endearing the staff at the Lofts are. They're very relatable and sweet no matter who you work with and the custodial, security, and other housekeeping staff around the community are just the best. Fast forward to 2025 and we STILL love it here! It's actually very bittersweet since I'll finally be gearing up to leave the Lofts and move after all this time, but if it's any indication by how much we loved it here, my roommate is fully intending on staying here despite me moving out which speaks for itself. Great place, and we seriously do miss Lena but Haylee as always is holding down the fort and all the other staff in the office are so incredible and awesome. **Adding my review here since their Greystar account is closed on Yelp, property has been managed by AMC since 2022 however service remained the SAME since I left. I resided here for 2 years. I've lived here for six months now and all I've experienced was trouble here! My first week here my car was broken into while parked right in front of the building at 5pm. A month later my other car was broken into parked in the same place except now we had security services which we pay additionally for!! They've scheduled a tow truck to be parked in my paid reserved parking (gated) and they blocked me in for two days!! Management greets you with open arms and kindness all until you're moved in!!! Now they're so rude and never helpful! Especially the after service hours they never ever answer and if they do it's to direct you elsewhere like the police or management voicemail. My dog was attacked in the reserved dog area in the building by a vicious German Shepard whose owner kept her dogs unleashed as she approached the dog area when we were just leaving the back exit and her dogs charged at us both. Management did nothing about the situation and my dogs neck was sliced and so was my finger. A few weeks ago my car was towed from a visitor parking and management claimed it was a reserved space but it was unmarked!! So many bad experiences here and all they can offer me is release from my lease without penalty!! LOL strongly suggest everyone to overlook this complex. In total my car has been broken into 8 times being parked right out front of the building. But my bad since I didn't learn my lesson the first time just wanted to be parked in front of the building SMH! Elevators are always having issues not working, homeless open the doors to the trash to sleep in it and break into cars sometimes getting into the complex and wandering the halls, irresponsible dog owners, unreliable services I mean should I keep going?? Upon move in leasing services said they filed for this area to be a no horn zone but the train passes by every two hours loud as hell even late in the middle of the night!! And not a couple of small beeps they keep their hand on that horn baby you won't get any rest here I promise you!! Being on the 4th floor our belongings would rattle every time the train passed FYI. We also had a double in the gated parking lot but didn't matter that it was reserved because if you park in the back parking with the front open someone will park there and block you!!! Happened to us all the time we'd call management to get the car removed it would always take forever alongside attitude and disapproval from mngmt when they need to keep things properly managed on their end! Why do you think they changed management companies CMON??? So annoying and janitorial/maintenance services aren't up to par as in they literally only have 1 guy Jose doing everything in a huge complex you would think there would be more than 1 handyman but NOPE... if I could give negative stars I would this place doesn't deserve 0. My family and I have been here for a little over 2 years now and absolutely love it! The maintenance team is great, the staff is awesome, they have charging stations if you have an electric vehicle, and the amenities are top class. They recently had a back to school party for our little ones and gave out backpacks and school supplies. That really shows that they care about their tenants and community. I'm hesitant to write this review because I don't want management to have it out for us, but my boyfriend and I haven't been the happiest with our experience here. For starters, we were told the previous renters of the unit we were moving into had pets and were promised the bedroom carpet would be replaced free of charge. We are both severely allergic to cats, so we accepted the unit we were offered under this condition. On move in day, it was the same old carpet with some lovely stains. When I raised my concerns about the carpet and what we had been promised, management went back on their word and told me I'd have to pay to have the carpet replaced. I had already moved out of my previous apartment and had a U Haul in the parking lot, so I had no choice but to move in. On move in day, there were some nails in the parking lot that I didn't see as I was parking my car. My tire was punctured and one went through my shoe and into my heel. My boyfriend began to have eye problems right after we moved in. This was bad news as he works in healthcare and needs to be in good health himself. After numerous doctor visits, tests, and medications, he was diagnosed with ptosis as a result of being exposed to an allergen daily (the carpet). Unfortunately, he will have to get surgery when we move because ptosis is irreversible. On our very first day here, we noticed little roaches in our place. We barely had any furniture or food yet, and the place was spotless. I requested pest control and was charged for it. Under California law, you can't charge a tenant for pest control unless they caused the infestation. This was clearly not our doing as our apartment was literally empty, and we see roaches around the complex all the time. I could go into a lot more detail, but I'll keep it short- my boyfriend's car was broken into in the gated lot and had $20k+ worth of medical equipment stolen, putting his job at risk yet again. We also have a mysterious neighbor who drops their trash in front of a bunch of tenants' doors instead of walking it down to the trash room. Sometimes it's random household items and baby supplies. We woke up to some extra trash bags one morning and got a lovely $25 upcharge, a pest control fee, and a letter reprimanding us. I really would have appreciated if they asked us about it or issued a warning first instead of immediately racking on the extra charges so I could have the chance to tell them about trash Santa. I really do like it here, I just wish management would treat their tenants a bit better. read more

I've been living here at mission lofts for 2 years now. This experience has been horrible. We can't live in peace. Every month they do fire alarm testing and the water is always being shut off. With the alarm testing going off I have to call off of work so my dogs aren't home with the alarms so loud going off throughout the apartment. Very inconvenient. My husband used to work from home but with all the water outages and the alarm testing he was forced to go back into work due to the apartments having all these issues. After 7pm there is no hot water. Not dog friendly. Not work from home friendly. The only thing good about the apartments is the maintenance man Jose!! He is awesome read more

Jose in maintenance is extremely responsive and helpful; my AC went out this morning during the heatpocalypse and he made sure it was fixed that same day. I've been living at Mission Lofts for 2 years and I love it here. The residents are very friendly. The grounds are super clean and nice. The 1 bedroom unit is the perfect size and the walls are "thick" enough that you don't hear the other residents above or next to you. The leasing staff is are always very attentive and timely related to any work request I've ever submitted. I can't wait for there little "mixers" where you get to meet with the other residents, play fun games and eat all courtesy of the property.
