We've been dealing with a serious rodent problem since at least May 2024, and it's only gotten worse over time. While the maintenance staff is friendly and professional, and the office staff has been courteous, the reality is that the rodent infestation has never been resolved. Pest control has been out multiple times, and maintenance has patched several holes in the kitchen and water heater shed--but the rodents keep coming back. The most recent incident happened just yesterday, and this particular rodent has been extremely destructive. I've lived in much older buildings, including a 1920s apartment in the Bay Area, and never once experienced a problem like this. Clearly, this property has a serious, ongoing infestation issue. My advice: think carefully before committing to this apartment complex! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. When I first toured Sycamore Canyon Apartments, I made it clear that I was a single mother and asked directly if there were any issues with pests or rodents. I was assured there were none. That was a lie. From the moment I moved into my unit, I've been dealing with a persistent, foul odor and ongoing rodent issues. Despite repeated maintenance visits, insulation replacement, vent cleaning, and pest control efforts, nothing has truly resolved the problem. The smell continues to affect my health and well-being, and I've seen signs of rodent activity in my home--where I'm raising my child. What makes this worse is that management clearly knew about these issues and chose to hide them when I asked upfront. They've made promises--like offering me a unit transfer at the same rent--only to go back on their word and try to charge me $100-$300 more to move into another apartment. It feels predatory and manipulative. This entire situation has caused me emotional distress, financial strain, and a complete breakdown of trust. I have documented everything and will be taking legal action to ensure they are held accountable. No one else should have to go through this. If you're considering moving here, please reconsider. What looks peaceful on the outside hides a management team that lies, avoids responsibility, and allows unsafe conditions to persist. Tenants deserve better. read more

Convenient location with responsive management. The buildings are on the older side, however you can tell they maintain them well. Whenever I submit a work order request, my issue is usually resolved within 24 hours. read more

Lived here for 3 years the management is a joke and so is maintenance. I would stay away from this complex. We left the apartment in good condition had no problems . They try to come up with stupidity and keep your money . 1.The washer and dryers are always dirty. 2.Garages are infested with rats. 3. Maintenance never comes and when they do they make it like nothing is wrong . When my dishwasher is definitely not working and leaking 4. They never fixed my window screen since I moved in and there excuse is they got a new maintenance crew and system. 5. The pool areas are always closed and dirty . 6.The water is always getting shut off with no notice. 7. When they do notice you to move your car for construction they don't send it to you until midnight and then you find yourself with your car towed in the morning. 8. This place is a scam . 9. My wife and I love our apartment the community is very warm the apartments are very nice and up kept we got really good maintenance and the office staff is great we love where we live and we hope that we are going to be here for many years to come the pools are very clean the washroom is great and we love to be able to take our dog to the dog park. read more

I've been here for over a year and just renewed my lease. This complex is very quiet and peaceful. With all of the beautiful green trees around I love opening up my blinds to look outside, drink my coffee and relax. If I have any maintenance requests, they respond quickly. The laundry room is kept clean. Veronica in the front office is always so helpful. I have absolutely zero complaints. I enjoy living here. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE! This place is so disgusting! Our neighbors upstairs are not the best and didn't realize their toilet was overflowing, from 1am to 7am and leaked down to our restroom. The neighbors also smoke and leave cigarette butts on our patio. That's the least of our concerns, our Prius cars got broken into and our catalytic converters were stolen months apart from each other. Our side neighbors were growing weed and blew up the building ( it was in the news). The office staff turnover rate is high, we never talk to the same person. There has been damage done to buildings, parking areas that have still not been fixed. They don't have any kind of security cameras. We just got a notice they are going to raise our rent by 250 and we have a month to decide, and if we don't want too, we're forced to move or get locked down for 14 months at this shithole. Beautiful, rustic setting, but management would definitely benefit from lessons in professionalism. New downstairs neighbors are entitled, ignorant, and whiny. Wife complains constantly about loud "stomping" noises, but if she lived in an upstairs unit her downstairs neighbors would be in agony due to her obesity. Overall, a decent place to live--especially in today's rental market. read more

Wanted to leave a review because we have had a few service requests that needed to be tended to and all of them were handled quickly. The most recent was when we had a window shatter spontaneously (I'm guessing from the weather changes and maybe stress over time) and it was fixed the next day. (This happened on a Sunday) I am very pleased with the response and the quickness. I have lived a lot of places and several different complexes. Rent is high everywhere and every place has pros and cons. We are happy living here and am thankful for the prompt service! read more

They leave squirrels dead for weeks blow the dirt from floor to cars and dirt from roof on peoples balconies. Pool sometimes close for weeks, don't heat up hot pool. Staff don't seem to like their jobs. read more

Don't be deceived by the pretty trees and the calm outdoorsy atmosphere. We lived here for two years and it was a nightmare. It started off ok but it gradually got worst and worst. Here's a list why you should rethink moving in here: 1. There's a lot of break-ins. They will break in into your garage(if you get one), break your car windows, steal your wheels and steal your entire car if they can. 2. The laundry room is a nightmare!! The machines are always dirty and they don't work half the time. 3. There are high levels of lead in the apartment walls. They will give you a package to read more about it upon move in. 4. There has been shoot outs. (If you have ring look it up.) 5. There's a lot of skunks and coyotes 6. The leasing office fails to send emails out when trees are going to get cut down so be ready to be woken up to the lovely sound of chainsaws by @7-8 am. 7. Be ready for your water to get shut off without notice because the leasing fails to send out notice emails. 8. There are four pools but only one works (jacuzzis are all broken) The rest are "broken" and green. 9. There was an explosions (apt 19) because they were cooking narcotics inside the unit. (It was on the news) 10. Leasing office became worst over time. They are lazy and never have answers to anything. Tracy is absolutely clueless and will always put you on hold. They take ZERO responsibility for anything that happens in the community. Be sure to have really good renter's and car insurance! You'll need it. read more

I have lived here for three years. It has its goods and it's hard just any other apartment complex. The maintenance team is always does a great job. I feel like some of the pictures I've seen on here are not accurate. If there's trash or crap lying around or the washers aren't working it's not because of the people that work here. It's the adults that live here. They complain about gross it is, but don't pick up after themselves. I have a neighbor that throws out his trash from his car almost every morning on the ground so the maintenance guys can pick it up. There are approximately 6 laundry rooms, 36 washers, 36 dryers, 280 apartments, and maybe 600 people if there are 2-3 people per apartments. So why is there only one card loading station? I tried calling management all day during business hours and they did not take my call. We went to the office and no one was available. Laundry was ruined. if i could i'd give -5 stars lived here for only a year each maintenance request took more than a week, some not even fulfilled by the time we moved. we moved over a month ago and still have no received our security deposit even after multiple emails and still no response. the office staff and managers are very unprofessional for that. multiple neighbors of ours even had complaints and wanted to move just couldn't afford it. if you're looking to rent here i definitely wouldn't it's not worth the price and you'll end up getting screwed over in the end. read more

The management is so unreliable, has been committing fraudulent activity, altering an expired lease to keep them out of trouble for not getting people their new leases. These are peoples HOUSING units. People need to feel SECURE here. Instead the women in the office will insult you to your face, up your rent $200 more & lie by omission to do anything except their job. If you enjoy gun shots, lab explosions & trees falling through your apartment, this is the place for you! Pretty sure someone died in the apartment the tree fell through, because it's still covered in tarps, a year later. You could call 20 times a month for 9 months & they will WILL NOT get back to you. Save yourself the trouble, it's no where NEAR, worth the money. These apartments are falling apart, the laundromats don't even fully wash or dry, & you'll quickly see nothing can save this place. Tracee was super helpful and knowledgeable with respect to the apartment complex. Today it worked out! Juan and Angel came over fixed my oven and my Air Conditioner. Took 10 minutes Prior to that i had to argue with the first level of management who seemed determined not to help me .i spoke to the new manager Maggie she made it happen. This review would be 0 stars if it wasn't Maggie, Juan and Angel. I'd give zero stars if I could. This place is absolutely horrendous, our experience living here has been horrible. Before it was just the office staff not getting back to you, our apartment was constantly flooding from the poor plumbing & had to ruin our towels to clean up water since no emergency maintenance person came, water is always getting shut off for hours/days so you can't bathe or use the bathroom. Those all seem minor compared to the renting of drug dealers that blew up their apartment in the wee hours of the morning March 1st. It was literally in the news. We actually shared a wall with these people, they were our neighbors & we were awakened to the sound of an explosion. They ran away that morning, but we called the fire dept since their apartment was on fire. Turns out, they were cooking drugs right on the other side of our master bedroom wall. It ruined all the pipes & walls we shared with them. Our entire apartment smelled like smoke for weeks & we couldn't live in it. They put a fan in here & were like, "ta-da! All fixed!" After three months of waiting for them to repair the damages, we had no choice but to move back as we couldn't live somewhere else indefinitely. That was in June & we STILL have not had our bathroom repaired. There's no sink or usable shower in the master bathroom, there is an ugly tarp in our bedroom covering the blown up bathroom. We have been going back & forth with these people for months & almost a year later, we're still waiting on repairs. They left the shared wall with the gutted apartment open for so long we had rats in our apartment that ran over all of our furniture & we found droppings everywhere. No one thought to close the wall. Management refuse to acknowledge their part in this whole mess, refused to help us in any way when we were all (all of us that live in this building) displaced. Our renters insurance wouldn't get us a new place or replace or ruined furniture/clothes because it was drug related, & the management's insurance refused to pay. It's been an absolute nightmare that has dragged on since March with no clear end in sight. No communication from the office & they never keep on top of when the "vendors" come to do work. If you don't care about your health & safety, by all means move here. Otherwise, this place looks like it's in a ghetto & it's not, but the upper management don't care how their property looks or who lives here. They don't care about their tenants at all. read more

Tracee was especially kind and helpful, walking us through every step of the application process. They went above and beyond to get us an earlier move in date. Moving is never easy, but the amazing staff at Sycamore Canyons did all they could to make it as easy as possible. 6 starts!!! read more
