Current resident - I have been living at Casa Sierra for 1 year and 9 months now. (I moved in August 2024) My lease ends May and I can't wait to move out!!!! I've had issues since I have moved in. Closet sliding doors are very sensitive and constantly needing to be put in place. The balcony's screen door always falls off when I move it. The apartment is outdated. There is a wall heater in the Livingroom that I never turned on because I'm afraid to catch the place on fire. The wall AC needs to be on all day in order to cool the entire apartment. All the doors get stuck because fresh paint is being painted over old paint. We constantly have to pull on the doors to open and shut them- it shakes the whole building. No upgrades have been done since I have lived there. Homeless people go through the garbage bins throughout the day. They know when the office goes to lunch and when they close for the day to enter the apartments. I have gotten my car broken into, luckily, I didn't have anything worth stealing, but they did take my phone chargers. Right now, what I am dealing with is homeless breaking into the small storage in my car portal and stealing things I leave in that area. They've came 3 times in less than 2 weeks to go through my things and leave the mess for me to clean. I made police report but apparently no one can do anything. Sadly, after speaking to other residents, they have also dealt with homeless stealing their belongings from their storage. The break-ins are happening during the day. (Management is aware of all this.) They hired a security guard a couple months ago (hes only here at night). I have seen him walking around a couple of times and it's not the same person all the time. ( I tend to wash my clothes at night, so I see the person.) There are 8 washers and 8 dyers, not enough for everyone who lives there. The washers and dryers are very small. My family of 4 can use up to 5 washers. I wash weekly.$$ Washers are $2.25 and dryers are $2.50 - most of the time there is a washer or a dyer out of service. Don't get fooled by the landscape!! It looks nice and beautiful but with all these issues it's not worth it. You can find somewhere else for a reasonable price with better amenities. I know a lot of residents are moving out because of all these issues. I paid $2,125 not including water or trash in 2024 (can't remember how much water or trash I paid at that time) for a 2 bedroom and 2 bath. I renewed my lease only because I wasn't in the best situation to move out. My rent went up in 2025 - to $2,253 + $6 pest control + $35 water + $30 trash = $2,334. I received my renewal letter and if I sign for another year the price would be $2,366 + $6pest control + $35 water + $30 trash I would be paying $2,437 - These apartments are not worth that.. for $50 more I can live at the Corona pointe resort apartment and enjoy their amenities for a 2 bedroom 1 bath. read more

Very, very noisy place to live; lots of screaming kids running around for hours. Homeless people on property during day and night, sometimes sleeping here. Break-ins to cars and overhead car storage. However there is a good repairman. read more

There are better places in Riverside for the same price or even less. 1. I was renting a 1 bedroom for $1856. 4 years ago when I started living here in 2021, it was $1200. They WILL increase the rent by the legal maximum every single year. This isn't a great neighborhood, there isn't a lot to do around this area, there isn't a lot in walking distance. They charge $60 a month for parking per spot and $100 for pets. The laundry room is $3 per load and the units are small. Even as a single man, I needed at least 4 washers a week and 2 driers for my work clothes and the gym. Over a year? $864 for laundry. 2. It's in a state of disrepair. They have a mouse and roach problem and instead of fixing it they gave me steel wool to plug the mouse holes and a single bottle or roach spray (which was a contact spray - so it wasn't even something to repel the roaches). In an apartment, you're only as clean as your dirtiest neighbor when it comes to pests, but the disregard for basic maintenance in-unit is deplorable. They won't fix the holes chewed by pests and you aren't allowed to fix them either. The screen doors they replace it with constantly fall off. Everything has been given the landlord special where they paint over cabinets and doors so they don't properly fit. Don't be deceived by decent landscaping! What's the point in having a koi pond if your residents have mouse holes chewed out of their walls? The windows aren't energy efficient, the air conditioner leaks into our unit. The only time they came to fix anything is when a pipe burst in our unit and for a place on the west coast (where there's no ICE that would justify bursting pipes) just adds to the pile of evidence that they have a general disregard for the state of their units. I put up with it because I HATE moving, but I couldn't take it after this most recent rent spike. I found a 2 bedroom in downtown for $1800. Considering I could walk to Mt Roubidox, enjoy downtown nightlife, access the Downtown Riverside Station (Which has better access to Metrolink than the la sierra station), I would NOT consider this apartment, nor would I recommend it. They're charging too much for what they're offering. Don't live here. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE JNLESS YOU WANT YOUR CAR BROKEN INTO. I've lived here for only 6 months and mine and boyfriends car BOTH gotten broken into and they don't even care!! They hired security for a couple nights then fired him! I tried breaking my lease and they said "the problem has been resolved since their hasn't been any more break ins" BULLSHIT. Right before I moved in 2 cars had gotten broken into as well (I didn't know until after) and when ours got broken into, it happened to multiple cars. CASA SIERRA IS NOT A SAFE COMMUNITY FOR YOUR FAMILY. Especially if you have young kchildren like I do. Don't even waste your time. The apartments look nice and have cheap rent but it's not worth it. You should feel safe at home UPDATE: IF I COULD GIVE 0 stars I would!!!!!!!!! RECENTLY SOMEONE WAS LITERALLY LIVING IN THE GARAGE STORAGE!! AND THERE STILL ISNT ANY PRECAUTIONS TAKEN! Overall it has been a great 14 months. Maintenance gets 6 stars, he is always taking care of any complaint next day. The area is nice, kids are always playing outside but I can barely hear them in my location. I rarely hear my upstairs neighbors. The paint looks like them may have just painted over years of old paint, drip marks and peeling in so spots. The mirrored closets suck, always coming off track and hard to get back on. I cracked one trying to get it back in place and will be charged. There are ants but everywhere in cali has ants so what can you do. My biggest complaint is that I pay monthly for pest control but can never have my apartment sprayed because all pets have to be out of the apartment for 8 hours. I have no where for them to go. I have seen roughly 10 big roaches in my apartment during my time here but again its cali so what can you do. read more

We are first time renters. We were completely over joyed that when we applied we were approved and moved in two weeks after. We were happy with our apartment, the size, the inside and the option of leasing an extra parking spot. We moved in on Friday and by Monday we began to notice a funky scent coming from the restroom sink area. After further investigation, turns out there was a dead animal in between the walls. Nothing could be done but throw deodorizers in between the walls and basically wait for the animal to decompose so the stench would go away. Second, a couple months later, we get new neighbors and we begin to notice a marijuana scent coming in through our restroom walls and sink. We have reported it several times, NOTHING has been done. Third, on a Friday we get a call (while at work) that there was a leak behind our toilet (reported by neighbors) which lead to having to remove our toilet and drill holes through the cement. Our hung frames were broken on the ground, carpet with cement and dirt all over it as well. Long story short, we were without a toilet (illegal) and ended up not being able to stay at our home for the night. We were told they'd deduct the amount for one night from our upcoming month's rent and of course, they "forgot" to do so until we approached them about it. Fourth, our light bulbs go out quickly, we currently have only a few working lightbulbs. We dare not ask for them to be replaced which will result in a $5 charge in our next months rent. Fifth, our sink handle in leaking, nothing has been done. Sixth, we've noticed that our water is SO foggy. I understand this is probably something that is out of maintenance's hands, but I dare not even cook with the water that comes from the sink. Seventh, our vehicle got vandalized last night. Husband asked about the surveillance cameras which of course DO NOT work, management said there is nothing they can do. Instead, we were told to write a letter to corporate and ask to break our lease. Which we will be doing. Better luck to everyone else! Oh and I almost forgot, two nights ago, there was a man yelling at someone from outside of the apartment cursing at them very loudly at 11pm!!!! :) read more

I have liked my stay here a lot. The staff are courteous and really kind, they always handle any requests with patience and grace. They go above and beyond with making sure everyone is okay and I get the sense the manager knows the name of all tenants. I am really happy I found this place and it is also walking distance between various restaurants and markets. A lot of families reside at this complex and they're friendly. read more

Casa Sierra was a wonderful place to live! Unfortunately I couldn't renew my lease due to different circumstances, but my roommate and I made many good memories and was the perfect place for us as we finished college. Lynette was amazing! She was always so helpful and kind, and truly cared about us. Morris, the maintenance man, was also extremely helpful and got things done super quick! From the moment we signed the lease, we never had any issues with management at all, and they have always been very trustworthy and pleasant. We never had any issues with bugs, except for the occasional ants, which happens because it's California. There are kids who play outside but we could never hear them from our apartment. The pool area and little grass fields are super nice and it's a great place to walk around, which leads to a koi pond and fountains. The whole outside area is very nice and the 2-bedroom apartment itself is spacious and the perfect size for us 2 as well as our cat. The rent is affordable for being one of the nicer apartments on La Sierra. I highly recommend living here! read more

The environment in these apartments is the best we've had in riverside so far, throughout the whole complex the neighbors are friendly & quiet. We have been here for over a year and anytime we need something done by the maintenance man Morris or front office manager Lynette we are helped in a friendly & timely manner. When i first moved in i was kind of not sure cause of the reviews i had been seeing but we been living in Casa Sierra for about 4 months now... unfortunately I was one of the family that the fire broke out in the 8 units in Casa Sierra..so what ever you do get yourself some good renter insurance because you just never know .. but they were so helpful to get us in a new one asap my family and i decided to stay cause we were happy with the environment here in casa Sierra everyone minds there own business and when it comes to nose i don't hear anything besides the kids playing out side but hey there kids and i have kid myself so I cant complain.... maintenance man always get the job done when it comes to fixing things and the front office staff is very helpful It's in a great location everything u need is within min... so ill give it a 5 stars read more

I've lived here since 2003 and im going to miss this place when i move in spring. Management has always been courteous and always willing to work with you. Very nice place. I lucked out. Only downside is that you can hear the trains which is annoying but no fault of Casa Sierra of course. read more

If you are looking for a place to call home there is no need to look elsewhere. Casa Sierra simply feels like home. My family and I have lived here for 7-8 years and can't complain much. The maintenance man (Morris) is a really nice guy and fixes everything in a timely manner. He upkeeps the grounds and makes sure everything is in working order within the apartment complex . I have no complaints about Lynette (works in the office). She answers my questions to the best of her knowledge. Obviously the only downside is no washer or dryer inside the unit but we have managed. There are 8 washer and 8 dryers for the 180 units. The kids love the pond and seeing the turtles and fish. The location of the apartments are within minutes to the fwy, markets, fast food places, and schools. read more

It feels much more than apartment, it feels home, it is home. This is a great environment to live in if you're looking for a place to live in. Very convenient with its surroundings. You have groceries stores, fast foods, tyler mall ( 7 minutes away), high school, 91 fwy etc. My family is been here for couple of months now. Great community apartments with friendly and helpful managment

Don't move in! I have lived here since feb 2012 and I fell in love with my apartment , the price, and the beautiful landscaping. I never had any issues until recently which revealed to me that this is NOT a place I would recommend anyone to pay their hard earned money to live in and I'll tell you why. As long as you pay your rent on time and never have an major issues, you will have the illusion that everything is so nice and honky dory. Today I approached my car when I was on my way out to the gym and discovered someone stood beside my brand new car and took their time to key it. They went back and forth eight to ten times and scratched it to the metal even denting it. When I approached the on site manager she didn't even get out of her seat to go look at the damage. This is how she treats a quiet tenant that pays their rent on time, minds their own business, goes to work and comes home. She just sat there and had an attitude like "oh well sh@t happens.". She even went as far to say " things like this happen on properties all the time what would you like me to do" Mind you when someone takes a swim in their precious little coy pond or leaves their trash in front of their door they are QUICK to fire off letters and stick them on every tenants door threatening eviction if caught. But when it comes to the safety of your vehicle while parked on their property, in your assigned stall they could care less you know why? Because in the lease it states they are not liable. But one thing the property manager did do is quickly tell me I had the ability to " buy out my lease". Money over tenants is what that says to me. She didn't even offer to fire off one of her letters. And here is the kicker. There's a camera pointed DIRECTLY at my vehicle and when I inquired about it she told me its been broken for a long time and when they attempted to have it fixed they discovered the company they used had gone out of business. So if I pay my deductible to have my car repaired while living on this unsecured property ( don't let the gated community fool you bc I come home from work and there are homeless people digging through the trash and they are bold enough to ask you for change for food. This happens on the property!!) and them take my car home to this place who's to say this person isn't going to just do it again. They don't care and didn't offer to let me out of the lease just a buy out and "oh well" attitude. There are a lot more things I'd like to mention but bc I still live here I will keep my mouth closed about certain things right now. Let me not forget about the plumbing problems. They CONSTANTLY have to shut off the water to the entire complex for the entire day because there is always a plumbing issue. Oh and also! When I called back to get the number for the corporate office the property manager had an attitude like " oh it's you again" and is now treating me like I AM a nuisance and like I did something wrong! I've lived here nine years. The manager and maintenance guy are both great. It is a peaceful place to live with excellent groundskeeping and a burbling fountain to drown out the noise of the street. My only warning to potential renters is that you should know that the gated parking area is not secure. From time to time the vehicular parking lot gate gets stuck in the open position at night. My 2007 truck was broken into twice while parked in the gated apartment parking lot (fortunately no items were stolen). The thieves were trying to steal the vehicle and broke my steering wheel, steering column, ignition, and both door locks. One thousand smackers later the truck is again drivable. Unfortunately renters insurance covers everything except vehicle damage occurring on rental property. read more
