I wish I could give more than five stars. We just moved out after a little over a year of living here. Had I not gotten a job almost an hour away I would not have moved. If you are even thinking of moving here , do it. The front office is amazing. The maintenance men are amazing. Even the neighbors are awesome. It felt like our own little community. I can't say enough good things about this place. Any concern we had was taken care of. They always were kind and helpful. Beth would even give my pup treats every time she saw her. To the point my once super shy dog would pull full force to go into the office because she loved seeing them every day. I'm going to miss living here. We truly felt at home. read more

This is going to be a lengthy review, and I'm going to try hard to be very fair and very honest. I did not want to write it, (I've held out for a year) but circumstances have made it necessary, as this review will explain below. My wife and I are professionals, in our late 50's. We moved from Indiana to California to be near 4 of our precious grand babies. We had some genuinely good experiences at Stone Canyon, & the community has some nice attributes: -front office staff were friendly and tried to be helpful, even when their hands were tied. -Balconies were great to have. -maintenance staff was friendly, but there was so much to do that it sometimes took weeks to get service (I will detail below) -grounds were pretty and well-kept -location is good and mostly quiet -updated pool area very nice, and weight room/pool room were clean I hope what I've just written above shows that I'm not trying to "trash" Stone Canyon. Each of these points was true, during our lease, and there are things about the community to celebrate. HOWEVER, we have been involved in a dispute with them for over a year now....over $107.83 (Yes, a hundred dollars.) This dispute centers around their claim that carpeting had to be replaced in a room after we left. The carpet in question had one discoloring mark from being in front of a rocking chair, where our feet pushed the chair in order for it to rock. The area was maybe a foot wide, and could've been shampooed out when the carpets were shampooed before the next resident. Here is the problem....Stone Canyon did not honor several of their claims and commitments to us during our residency, and offered no compensation in return. Here are the specifics: #1....We paid additional $$ each month to have a garage (I think $100 a month, but I could be off). We did this, so that A) My wife would have a place to park her car at night and feel safe about it. B) We would have storage space for many of the things we could not fit into our apartment. OUR GARAGE DOOR MECHANISM STOPPED FUNCTIONING, AND IT TOOK MORE THAN THREE WEEKS FOR IT TO BE REPLACED, WITHOUT ANY COMPENSATION OR REFUND! Not only that, but once it was replaced and repaired, it broke again about 2 weeks later, and was never repaired until we moved (this was towards the end of our time there). As a result, we moved TONS of boxes out of the garage and relocated them, because we didn't want them stolen from our garage door that was now open 24 hours a day! We should've been compensated for a garage that did not work, but my inquiries about this have never once been responded to. #2....Stone Canyon PROUDLY proclaims itself as a "Gated Community". This is an important and critical concern in SoCal, where property crime, car break-ins, etc are a paramount concern to all. The security gates (opened with a keypad by residents) were one of the PRIMARY reasons we selected Stone Canyon as our home for a year...until we bought a house. Well, this turned out to be an epic disappointment! There were times where one or both of the gates were 100% non-functional for a week at a time. It wasn't a one-time thing, either. They would work perfectly for a month, then one would break and be fixed 4 days later...then they'd be fine for two weeks, and then the other one would break and be fixed the middle of the following week. In other words, it was NOT a gated community about 20% of the time, but rather a community where anybody could enter for any reason, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Residents were simply told "We're getting that taken care of as soon as we can".....but nobody ever received any sort of compensation for what genuinely (if perhaps accidentally) was false advertising about the safety of the property. #3....By comparison, this is a small thing, but it really bugged us. We had a sink overflow in the 3rd week of our stay. When the guy came to fix it, he asked my wife what happened. My wife told him she put a few food scraps in the disposal and turned it on, but then in backed up and started to flood the kitchen floor. To our bewilderment, we were scolded...."Oh my gosh, don't EVER put food scraps in the garbage disposal!" Ummmm......okay......but one quick question.....If that's the case, WHY HAVE A GARBAGE DISPOSAL!?" To wrap up, I have replied to about 5 emails over the past year and responded to the $107 billing with these issues, and inquiring what THEY were going to do to compensate US for what happened (particularly the useless garage situation). None of my emails were ever responded to....but now they have turned this $107 bill over to Columbia Debt Recovery LLC, DBA Genesis. I guess they figure that ignoring their responsibility, while trying to strong arm a former resident, while not replying to the situation for which THEY are responsible, is the best course of action. We're just saddened by this lack of integrity and responsibility. read more

Great apartments, I've lived here for over 4 years and the office staff is friendly as well as the maintenance. Whenever you call with a problem with the apartment, they are quick to resolve it. The property is always clean and its quiet. I would love to stay here but I just can't live on the 3rd floor anymore and there are no 1st floor apartments available. So I moved in end of December 2023 and wanted to give it some time before writing a review. I seriously love this place. The staff is so friendly, Frances is the one who gave me the tour but I met pretty much everyone else in the office and they are all so professional and kind. I had a few maintenance order and they Follow up in a timely matter and also professional. They keep up with the community. I dont see trash on the street which is nice to see that people clean up after themselves, no homeless digging in the trash, gate is always closed and never broken like other apartments where it brakes and they take months to fix. landscape is nice and people seem to mind their business. Is a very quiet place to live and no chaos.. at least I have not seen on my side. The negative things I dont like is living on the first floor, that of course comes with upstairs neighbors being a little loud sometimes.. but thats what comes with living on the first floor. It is not a big deal as of now. Another thing, I seen racoons and squirrels at night time, so if you like to walk at night time and mind animals, then maybe you need to consider it.. It doesn't bother me at all. They stay more on the edge by the trees and sometimes by the trash looking for food. Parking is not the best if you have a second car. But can park outside the community and walk is not bad so again, is not a big deal for me but can be to others. amenities are great and clean and overall I love it. Very peaceful as its secluded. The "negative" things I mentioned are not bad for me but I know some people can mind it so I figured I would add. Overall this place has been great. read more

Very unprofessional staff here. We absolutely loved the property and the units, but once it came to moving forward with our lease it seemed like no one really cared. There was no kind of communication regarding our lease. No Courtesy call no "do you have any questions". We tried numerous times to get a hold of someone through email and phone because I had questions regarding our lease. Phone calls were being ignored emails were being ignored. Once we did get a hold of someone there was no sign of concern very careless management. We decided to not move forward with the process. Our experience wasn't very pleasant rather extremely frustrated all because people lack basic communication skills. read more

If you want to move out prepare to pay big. They asked me to pay my rent of $1800 plus $2700 to break my lease after I've lived here 2 years and 10 months. $4500 TO MOVE OUT!!! We wanted to break the lease because the vagrants living in the lot next to Stone Canyon robbed our apartment and vandalized our mailbox causing us to pick up our mail at the post office for over 3 months. The trash here is always disgusting, usually covered in rodents or raccoons. And rats/mice are everywhere. So yeah, we're not happy and we want to move. read more

I have lived in these apartment homes since December of 2019....going through the pandemic, experiencing a loss of income, a new marriage and have had the best experiences although situations were tough. The staff, especially Beth, has been substantial! There were times when I needed assistance at the last minute and they've always came through. Their maintenance staff (Christain) and their office staff (Beth) has been a pleasure to work with and I'm in complete gratitude for all they've done to assist my family with our comforts. I moved back to Stone Canyon, just because of the service, community, and safety. The seclusion is hard to beat and being able to have pets is also a plus. The maintence service has aways been speedy, whether it be past workers like Robert or Crystian who is the new manager now. These guys tell you to "check in or leave a review for "$50 off the application fee" without you knowing what it's like to really live here. Well let me tell you. We moved in 6/12/18 and had NO HOT WATER FOR ALMOST the time the next months rent was due. Maintenance people came in 2-3 times for the SAME PROBLEM. I'll post pics. And after meeting with the manager John Huntley. Who was nice. But did nothing to reimburse us for the cold water, and one of the maintenance people stealing an obvious $20 from my freaking empty ass apartment.. so there You go I'm in month 2 of my 12 month lease and here's the truth. Because everyone's is saving their bad reviews for when they move out. I PROMISE YOU. Another visit for the same COLD WATER PROBLEM And now manager refuses to do anything about it because "there's no proof that we've had no hot water" Maintenance guy comes on the 3rd or 4th try and says to my gf. "Oh. It's cold because it's capped off. Here let me remove it. BAM!! HOT WATER ACTIVE!! Aka water WAS COLD UNTIL HE REMOVED THE FREAKING CAP. Can you guys tell I'm irritated with this place? Lol Ps. I am giving this 5 stars because I absolutely love it here! I have on been moved in for about a week but so far so good. I love the amenities, the space of my apt. The quiet neighbors. If you do not like dogs it's probably best you don't move here because there is a pup across the way that barks constantly lol. But my dog has finally started to ignore him. (When I first moved in she barked back... All day ) John and Alan were awesome and the manager as well even though I cannot for the life of me remember her name . Oops! Anywho. I will give an update on how much my utilities run once I get my first bills lol! The pic I posted is my exact apartment before we put any furniture in. Here is an update: I have been living here since February so we received our first bills! Water bill: $25 Gas bill: $23 and electric: $56!!!!! You really cannot beat that. I would give this apartment building zero stars if I was able to. I would beware of this place unless you enjoy getting hit with a HUGE move out bill no matter what, even if you leave this place spotless. I am not the first person who has lived her who has been subjected to this. These people kept my $800 deposit fee as well as tried to charge me an additional $1,100. They will charge you for every little thing. They are definitely one of the rental companies you hear about taking advantage of tenants during this pandemic. Pathetic! If you have a pet also beware because they will replace the carpets and charge you over $600 to do so just because you have a pet on the lease. There were few small stains on the carpeting when I moved out and therefore they ripped up the carpets and noticed a few more small stains under it and immediately concluded it was from major pet damage. Cleaning fees, painting fees, carpeting fees, the list goes on and on. I literally lived here for nine months. I have lived in many different apartment complexes and I have never had such an unpleasant experience at one. Also, watch out for these phony 5 star reviews, they are not written by actual tenants who have lived here and dealt with the management team. I have lived in stone canyon for two years and i love it. Starting with management and staff to housing Everyone who works there is super friendly and professional (John, Lindsey, Kathrine and all maintenance workers) they look after you and try to help as much as they can and beyond. The complex is very well designed, spacious with plenty of space to have morning and evening walks with your pet, plenty of grass and plants that freshen up the air. It's highly safe to walk your per in the middle of the night There were two incidents of people breaking into the cars but stone canyon was very alert and kept security cameras and sometimes would have police patrols The apartment was beautifully designed, i rented a two bedroom apartment and walls completely isolate noise, good privacy with separate bathrooms, tile floor or carpet (both options available) Available Laundry inside the apartment Nice balcony The kitchen was a bit small but that should not be an issue for those who don't cook I simply loved my stay there And i highly recommend this place for a living Definitely deserves 5 star rating read more

Honest Review: BE CAREFUL the apartment manager will try to evict you over a water bill of less than $40. No joke. Rent can be paid on time but they will try to evict so they can increase rent to an exorbitant amount. They also seem to be selective in who they harass over their patio decorations and content. Outside of management being - TERRIBLE - the apartment space is nice - quiet and family friendly. The units are spacious and feel more like a townhome which is a positive. The down sides are as mentioned earlier, unlawful eviction practices, selective harassment by management. Apartments are only as good as their maintenance department - our maintenanc e team is the reason I stay. If you can find a place where management is genuinely kind - and more updated amenities rent somewhere else. read more

Amazing place to stay! Huge apartments that come with a patio. They are also pet friendly (for a pet deposit) and have garages for rent.. Their amenities include a pool, volleyball court, half court basketball, a gym, an office with free printing, pool table, a big screen tv with movie theater seating, a steam room, a putting green, and bbqs all over. Apartments come in one to two bedrooms and some buildings have three stories. The complex is right by creek which is pretty nice to take a walk by. The only sort of scary downfall is that you are in a canyon so when coyotes howl, it really echos, which isn't that scary, but when you have a dog that howls back..yeahh.... I really enjoyed my time here. Moving was bittersweet and to be honest, I still think I'm on vacation and I'm going back to my apartment at Stone Canyon even though I've been moved out for 3 months. Michelle and Kristin were super sweet. They also have treats in the office for your furbabies. (My pups would always drag me into the office even when they were closed. I lived at Stone Canyon for 2 1/2 years. The only reason I moved was because my wife's job is kind of far. I tried to get Stone Canyon to move, but they said they couldn't. The entire staff is phenomenal. From the Leasing Office to the Maintenance Crew, they're all amazing. I should give 4 stars because I saw a possum once, and that thing looked evil - but after much thought I realized it wasn't Stone Canyon's fault. Mother Nature created that beast... All jokes aside, it's a great place to live. BBQing at the pool is awesome. The whole outside bar is fun, fire pit, putting green, basketball courts, etc. The apartments are nice and spacious. Another good sign - when I moved out, I got my deposit back. Got charged a cleaning fee, but they didn't nickel and dime about anything. Classy move on their part. read more

One of the best experiences I've had living in an apartment complex. 1. Staff - The staff was always professional and friendly. The leasing office team was great about comminicating with us throughout the leasing process. During our time with Stone Canyon they also responded to phone calls and emails promptly. The maineltenance staff was always responsive and did quality work whenever we needed their help. There is a way to schedule when you want the maintenance team to come help, through an online portal, and they always show up on time. 2. Apartments - The apartments are gorgeous! Fully renovated kitchens and bathrooms with stainless steel appliances. They really are luxury apartments. The lighting fixtures are also updated, and the master bathroom had a shower head with a built-in Bluetooth speaker. All of the apartments also have an alarm system - the added security was great. 3. Amenities - Beautiful pool with ample lounge seating and bbqs around. One area also has a TV and refrigerator. This made having guests over really fun. They gym has enough equipment for a full-body workout and is open 24/7. There is also a dry sauna, pool table and computer lab. Lastly, the apartments are in a gated community! There is also a short trail around the perimeter of the complex that is next to a creek perfect for evening walks. Cons (there are only a couple) - Parking is limited, but this is common at most apartment complexes. The rent is pretty high, but you definitely get what you pay for. read more

Ok I love everything about this place. The only issue is that there is often a mix up with our mail from the main office. We sometimes dont get notice of it is sent to the office and if it is its to the wrong person.Also there is VERY few complex parking for visitors inside. On some tuesdays street sweep comes and it is VERY hard to get a spot in the complex and usually results in tickets for many because there is no parking available. That can be a pain in the ass if you room with two others. I love everything else I would give this place a five if it wasn't for the mail mix up and the limited free parking spaces on tuesdays. Management is AMAZING, the place is AMAZING, the staff is AMAZING! Seriously Im sad I will be moving out due to graduate school but seriously I highly recommend this place. read more

My wife and I just moved in October. We absolutely LOVE it here. Honestly from the over priced town home with no parking we lived in corona this place is amazing. The scenery is beyond beautiful. The grounds are kept up very well. We have experienced nothing but excellent customer service, Everyone in the office is great. I lived at Stone Canyon for about 2 years and i loved it! Its in a really nice area of Riverside and kind of tucked away from all the crazyness of the city. The apartments are newer and well kept. The staff is great they are always planning resident functions, almost every month there was something going on. Gives you a chance to get to know your neighbors. There are lots of things to do on the property. The pool has BBQ'S and an outdoor patio area to have little get-togethers. The clubhouse has a pool table which is fun for entertaining! There all also several sports courts on the property, which i never got around to using that im sure someone will enjoy! The only downfall is parking. Parking was a little sparse, so if you have a second car or guests it was kind of tough but other then that it was great and i would definitely recomend this property to anyone looking! read more

My family and I moved to Stone Canyon a year ago but had to move last week for employment purposes. Our year there was excellent. Let's start out by the first impression, the phone call to the leasing office. Our first point of contact was with John Huntley, who answered every single question we had and with a pleasant and helpful attitude. That phone call is a make it or break it for me. Because if you can't be pleasant to a prospective tenant over the phone, what kind of service are you really providing? But everyone here was absolutely amazing and kind to my family and I. Throughout our stay, we had requests for maintenance issues and they were always taken care of in a timely manner. Both Robert and Anthony were quick, prompt, and professional. Not to mention, when calling them to assist me with installing a baby gate, which they didn't have to, kindly and gladly came to help, and for that, I am thankful. We never had any noise problems nor did we have any issues for that matter. It was quaint, peaceful and a wonderful experience. If you look around at other apartments and their reviews, you will notice a common trend...a lack of parking for guests and even residents fighting for parking spots. Throughout our year at Stone Canyon, my family NEVER fought for parking and there were always spots available. Lastly, many apartments, including luxury apartments in various areas throughout the Inland Empire, do NOT answer their phones. I've personally experienced where I've called and called an apartment leasing office and continued to get an answering machine. At Stone Canyon, 99% of the time, someone (a live person) always answers the phone, and that is key to providing great customer service. Thank you Stone Canyon for a wonderful year. Our baby boy took his first steps in our living room at your complex and we have very fond memories of that place. We have been living here for about a year and a half now and continue to have minor issues (parking, the occasional ant outbreak, people throwing their garbage BY the dumpster and not IN the dumpster, etc.), but the management takes care of things to the best of their ability. Even when faced with a very LARGE issue (our apartment flooded during a big rainstorm when the storm sewer was blocked by debris), the management handled things fairly and efficiently. And that's why I continue to have no complaints about living here at Stone Canyon Apartments and would recommend them to a friend. read more

Apartments are clean, quiet, and safe. What made the place great was the staff, who handled any issues we had and were always helpful! Amenities are excellent - pool stayed surprisingly quiet as the other residents here are friendly and respectful. There's a half court basketball court, putting green, and even a pool table and movie theater when you want to stay inside. The workout facilities are also handy to have nearby, and were plenty good if you just require some basics. After we moved out (bought a home!) we got all of the security deposit back except for a minor cleaning fee. absolutely horrible complex! We had a bad situation and the complex did nothing to accommodate us. We had to call corporate multiple times in order for stone canyon to hear our voices as tenants. They even charged us 500 in move out fees explaining that they needed to replace our carpet even though our carpet was clean! Do not move here! They do not handle busniess the way business should be handled. Besides having a great looking apartment with good amenities I was even happier with John who works in the main office. John has been awesome the entire time I have lived here and even helped me get some new hire paperwork completed for my new job. He was also a big reason why we chose to live here in the first place, he showed us the apartment and stood back and let it sell itself- he did not push us to rent, he made us feel comfortable the entire time. I love living here at stone canyon ! The area is quiet and tucked away from the frwy and main streets. The staff is great I have never had an issue. We absolutely love this place! Best place we have lived by far! Our management team is amazing! They always welcome you into the office and greet you by name. Packages get delivered to the office so you never have to worry about a package being left at your door and the chance of not getting it. As someone who gets packages almost daily for business purposes, this is definately a plus, and they are always helpful in notifying me via email when i do have a package. It's dog friendly, Which is hard to come by now a days, and even has a dog park! (Our fur babies love it!) The community is quiet, even for a pet friendly place. the grounds are beautifully landscaped and always well maintained. We love having a gym in our complex that is a short walk away, it comes in handy with our busy schedules. The pool area is awesome! We love using the fire pit for spontaneous late night hang outs and s'mores. :) and we love that there is a movie room and Billards room, for those days/nights that we want to get out of the house but don't want to go far. I left this review prematurely, but scoping out the place and going through a tour seemed all nice and sweet, but to actually move into the place is a nightmare. Apartments usually work with you and be attentive to your needs as tenants. Going with cold water for a month is UNACCEPTABLE especially when it's a NECESSARY to have in any place. Plus having the sink and bathroom sink broken and clogged. Also they need to replace the tub sprout cause it was leaking. For them to not take responsibility and to try work out something with you. They deny everything. Even though maintenance DOCUMENT everything was looked at and still DENY IT TO THIS DAY.! No offense to the workers that are really nice people, but just poor customer service. Plus when I tried to make them understand that we need that to be fix ASAP when I was still ignore. I finally had to bribe the maintenance people to come and check was the problem. MAGICALLY like a leprechaun got they attention quickly. One of the maintenance guy to fix the problem and it was the cap that was covering the pipe for the hot water to come in. I mean COME ON!!! 4 times of trying to fix the problem and went with a MONTH of no hot water is UNACCEPTABLE AGAIN!!!! read more

We have been at this community for a few years and have seen staff change, maintenance change etc but throughout the changes I believe we have the best group of people here to help us with anything. John in the office is always great and helpful, maintenance is always there at any time and very courteous. I had a water leak I reported on a Saturday night and the maintenance manager was at my door in 30 min (and he does not live on site). They fixed everything and worked around my schedule with my kids to get it done. The complex is always beyond maintained and everyone knows us, respects us and works with us here.
