It seems like one's encounter with movers is a minefield of loaded expectations. Your move will be perfect or the stuff of nightmares - there's no in-between. And no wonder, when you are talking about entrusting your beloved possessions to others and putting them onto a bumpy truck. For most; moving is a big deal - it's bound to be stressful, even in the best moments. So you research, and have faith your chosen company will result in a happy outcome. Ours is a happy tale. (There is a hiccup in the middle, but it turned out with the best possible ending.) I got a good feeling from the owner, Jeremiah from the start. When on the phone with me - I was the only client in the world. He was patient and informative as he described the process, and what I should plan for and expect. He was open, answered all of my questions, and even some I didn't think to ask. Enter: Taylor, Tyler, Christian and Dominic - our team on the big day. All four gentlemen looked nice and friendly, and were polite. They assessed the space and stuff, and immediately divided and conquered. Two guys blanketed and shrank wrapped furniture, while the other two prepared the all the items to be loaded. Meanwhile, down at the new place, they were awesome unloading. Everything was left in the correct area. They helped reinstall, set up, and place the furniture. Even helping move or adjust big pieces so they were in the exact spot wanted. And when they saw a small nick they'd made in a lamp shade during transport; they let me know immediately. All in all, no bad casualties. Payment was exactly what I'd expected. No hidden fees, no extras. I was super pleased with their work, and they left me to unpack. A couple of days later... I was sorting through some paintings they'd stacked against a wall, preparing to start hanging artwork. I discovered some big scrapes on the outer plexiglass of two matching pieces. Of everything I saw of the crew - they were meticulous carrying boxes and belongings with care, and protecting loose or oversized objects and furniture. This was in no way due to negligence or mishandling. Sadly, it was clearly that unfortunate rare fluke, that resulted in boo boo's. I know the risks of moving. Hopefully most understand the likelihood something'll get broken is almost an inevitability during a move, and prepare for that eventuality. But these were paintings I'd inherited from my grandmother, so they meant a lot. I met with some framers - the artwork itself was fine, but the plexiglass frames were scuffed beyond repair. Given their size, they were going to be pretty expensive to be reframed. I called Jeremiah to explain what I'd discovered. At the very least, I wanted to make them aware of the situation, so the future crews would be better prepared and could protect those kind of delicate items for clients going forward. I don't know what else I expected - I'd not taken out moving insurance, and had not noticed the scratched frames in the crew's presence, so the crew could verify the damage. But Jeremiah patiently listened like I was his only customer. He spoke with the team that worked the job and conveyed they were heartbroken to hear damage occurred on their watch and profusely apologized. He sought as much information as I could provide regarding the scratches, and requested photos of the damage. I let him know the pricing I'd been quoted to replace the frames/plexiglass, and when I got the finalized bill - he immediately sent reimbursement. This is precisely where I think great companies stand out. It's so easy to be satisfied if things go as planned. But, it's how you address the problems - where you can either lose repeat business, or earn a customer for life. I'm so pleased Jeremiah and Mission Movers proved to be in the latter category. Jeremiah took me at my word, and wanted to make things right. Which is why I think he and Mission Movers will be in business for a long time to come. Thank you Taylor, Tyler, Christian and Dominic! Jeremiah and his crew did an amazing job! I recently moved from San Clemente to Vista and used a 3 man crew from Mission. They showed up on time, were more than happy to wear masks (I have a lung condition) and got straight to work without wasting a second. They loaded everything from my 2 bedroom apartment and garage in about 2 hours flat and unloaded it all at the new place in about the same time. They wrapped all of my furniture and pictures/paintings and took extra care to make sure nothing was damaged. If they had any doubt about something they always asked where an item should go or what should be done with it. I moved this past weekend and I can't say enough great things about Mission Movers. Jeremiah was super responsive, up front about about pricing and went out of his way to accommodate my weekend request. Additionally, he sent an extra guy at no extra cost, so my move was finished in way less time than it would have taken with only two people. Gavin, Will and Trevon were as good as it gets. Here is my experience with Jeremiah from Mission Movers : - I called Mission Movers based on Yelp reviews (call 1) - Since the call went straight to voicemail, I hung up, and sent a quote request to them via yelp - I got an email message back telling me to call right away. - I called, and my phone provider dropped the call. This is common when I use my mobile phone from home. I didn't even think it connected at all. (call 2) - I called again, and the call went straight to voicemail. I assumed he was back on the phone again. (call 3) - I wrote another email via Yelp asking Jeremiah to call me back at his convenience, when he was off the phone, and I was available all day. - I got another email response telling me to call him. (I now realize it is an exact duplicate of the first email I received, but at the time I assumed he was now off of the phone, and I was supposed to call him back.) - I called, and I was again sent straight to voicemail. I decided I better just leave a voicemail. (call 4) 2 minutes after I left the voicemail, I received a call from Jeremiah. Without any sort of greeting, he said "Is this the person who's been blowing up my phone". His voice and tone were both very angry and sarcastic. I did try to explain that his emails had asked me to call the 2nd and 3rd time. That is when he informed me that there had been 4 calls. I tried to explain that my phone carrier dropped a call. He just wasn't very nice, or businesslike. Since he had no openings that day, I believe he just didn't care. He also asked me why I was ins such a hurry, I explained that I had to fly to Cleveland, OH the next day for my mother's funeral, and I needed to get a mover hired before I left. I gave the 2nd star because, in the end, he did refer me to some other reputable movers. Then, to make matters worse, I went back to check the timing of my calls in order to write this review. Soon after, I thought I was hanging up from another call and accidentally called him again. Yikes. I am sorry about that call, but all of the other calls were legit. read more

Everything was great until they assembled the crib & our bed. So, this is a long overdue bad experience from late Aug, 2014. I booked my moving service very early in May 2014 since I'd be 38 weeks pregnant when we moved. Jeremiah was great with the reservation & explaining the fee structure. We decided to go with a 3-man-crew with 4 hours of moving so that we could try to get most things out from our 2br apt to our new house that's only 2 miles away. The crew showed up on time on the day we moved. They were really good at what they were up to. Also, being able to park very close to our old apartment & having things ready for them(both king size beds & a crib disassembled, boxes all in one area), they quickly moved everything out within 90 mins or so. Moving things out to the new house indeed took some more time. Since a lot of things were going up to the 2nd floor. Tyler was awesome on getting things upstairs quickly & carefully. We ended up adding an extra 30 mins just so that they could help us without a rush. However, now that I looked at this 30 mins, that's the time they were putting our beds & crib together, and ruined our crib completely. I'm not sure who was the one using the drill, maybe Omar? Whoever did it, stripped all the hex screws in the crib, ripped apart the side rail, and just totally trashed our very nice crib that we were going to use for our newborn baby. As for the king size bed in the master bedroom, he failed to installed the nail for the rail on one side properly. Like I've mentioned on the top, everything was great until they try to assemble things for us, which was that extra 30 mins! I tried to call Jeremiah when I found out about the crib, and of course, the phone call went to voice mail. He never bothered to reply back since we're probably just a done deal to them. I was really upset as they messed up the crib completely. That crib was the kind that we were planning to use for a long run --- the type you can buy conversion kit, and able to turn into a toddler bed & a full size bed. Now we can only hold it up with plastic zip ties, and have to get rid of it once my baby outgrows the baby stage. What a bummer. I now only wish we never paid that extra 30 mins, and just do it ourselves. read more

I just moved from Costa Mesa back to San Diego and these guys did an AMAZING job! My movers were Alex and Hunter. They were extremely efficient and very careful with all of my furniture and boxes. They worked fast, but still engaged in conversation and were overall very personable and friendly. I can honestly say I had fun moving with them! It took only 4.5 hours to load, drive, and unload everything at my new apartment: and both apartments were on the second floor, without an elevator. Mission Movers had the most competitive price, were organized and professional, and they didn't charge double drive time (they start running the clock when they arrive and stop when they leave). They were very communicative and handled all of our furniture with great care while actually interacting with us. We had 4 movers and they also communicated so well with each other that it made it that much smoother. All in all, I had zero complaints. I used the same moving company for almost 20 years in Texas. My move was back in August 2014 - so this is a belated review. First I want to say that Jeremiah is a stand up guy and was very responsive. I had two movers assist me that day - Angel (who was great) and another mover, who was not so great. Angel really hustled while the other mover spent 1/2 of every hour smoking, taking breaks or constantly re arranging stuff on the truck. This move took 3 hours longer than it should have because I paid for 2 movers and got 1 and 1/2. I also had a few things come up missing - one of which- the power cord to my tv was found the next day on the truck after I insisted someone search for it. I wish I would have checked the truck myself to make sure everything was removed. **4/09/15 Update** Jeremiah contacted me upon seeing my review to convey his apologies and ask how he could remedy the situation. He also explained that the worker in question no longer worked for him. After discussing the situation with Jeremiah, he promptly followed up and made things right.
