Recently learned that Me-Eco Nail bar is now under new management and has been renamed to Mission Nail Bar. I visited this Saturday and had Kate (the new owner) do my pedicure. I also had Tiffany do a soak off for my GelX nails. They immediately sat me down and offered me soda, water, and even a mimosa! Tiffany was gentle (I have thin, sensitive nails) and very friendly. Saw they had various promos running with new management, Mother's Day, prom season, etc. and decided to get a pedicure with my husband. It's been months since we've had ours professionally done and the signage worked and brought us in! We made our appointment online and received a text confirmation about 5 minutes after submitting. We ended up being available sooner than expected and called to adjust the timing, they were able to accommodate the change. They are on the Terra sushi and Mulleady's side of the Sprouts plaza. We didn't have issues finding parking right up front. Would give this place a 3.5 stars based off our experience yesterday: Liked: - Easy to get to / park at - packages and services are listed on their website - free drinks (juices, wine, etc) - love the extra presentation details (the drinks came in such cute glassware. When bringing out the lotions and scrubs, they come out on a cute tray with decorative floral) - we were greeted right away and very warmly. The team was very friendly and seemed very grateful for new customers - the music was very relaxing, they played saxophone covers of pop hits - the scrub and massage pressure from our tech was 10/10 - there's a discount if you pay with cash - I was given a cuticle oil pen / gift at the end of our service The reason I didn't give 5 stars: - we had the same tech and they started with my husband. We weren't in a rush and seated next to each other so we had no issue with only one person getting their service at a time. However I wish I spoke up when the tech did not switch gloves or open up a new bag of tools in between our services. That was a bit off putting for me, luckily it was just my husband before me but still would've liked a new bag of tools used. Will be sure to speak up next time - my husband felt his pedicure was a bit rushed. He doesn't get any color so the service is already shorter as is, but compared to other pedicures we've had in the past at other locations, it wasn't as long of an experience for him Overall, we still had a nice experience and felt so relaxed and pampered after our pedicures! The tech we had may not be the one for us (but know others request her as she had a first name basis appt waiting). The staff is very friendly. Complimentary drinks. Nail salon appeared clean and welcoming. I feel this nail salon is way over priced for the quality you receive. Manicure was not great. I had to reshape my nails and trim my cuticles when I got home. My pedicure was nice but massage was just okay. I will not be returning here. This was our first time to Mission Nail Bar, and we were not disappointed. They are very intentional in the atmosphere they have created. The space is clean, welcoming, relaxing and very pampering. They offered us complementary drinks off a menu with many great choices My daughter and I both chose to get midrange pedicures. The pricing was about 20% more than their standard pedicure, but we were treated to numerous soaks, scrubs and masks, massage and steaming along with the standard pedicure things. Both of our ladies, Linda and.Chi, were very pleasant and accommodating. They did a beautiful job and after an hour and a half of great service we walked out very satisfied. I have never left a negative review before, but my nails are still in pain 48 hours after my appointment so I feel like I should share my experience. I've been getting my nails done for over 4 years and have never experienced this kind of pain after. So I came in for a gel builder overlay with nail art. First of all, just want to say my nail tech, Tony was very nice. During the appointment, Tony over-filed my nails and I noticed the filing was starting to become more painful during the service, and I mentioned it when he did the final filing/cleanup because I couldn't bear the pain anymore. Usually if the nail tech over files my nails, it typically gets better the next day but it's been 48 hours and multiple fingers are still sore -touching them, bumping them, and water hitting the areas hurts a lot. Looking closely, the skin around and underneath several of my nails was filed/cut too much and was bleeding. All 10 nails had some type of discomfort, whether it was from the filing or cuticle work. I've never had this happen after getting my nails done before, and I don't think anyone should leave their appointment with their fingers feeling this painful. I also had concerns about the pricing. At the beginning of the appointment, I was quoted $100 for my design. During the service, he suddenly changed the price to $105 which I thought was weird but I didn't question it. Honestly, I had no issue paying this amount but what I did have a problem with is that they charged me for gel X ($63) instead of gel builder overlay ($55). When I brought it up, he kept telling me it wasn't a mistake and that the front desk sometimes selects gel x instead of gel builder but not to worry because its the same thing. How is it the same thing when the price is different?.. Then after talking to the front desk, she realized it was indeed a mistake and fixed it to reflect the gel builder price. But now another issue.. I saw that she increased the nail art price from $32 to $40 to match the original quote of $105 (extra $10 is for the removal they did for my previous set which is reasonable). My concern is not the final amount - it's that the pricing did not feel transparent and they just adjusted the numbers however they wanted instead of having a clear breakdown of what they are charging me for. But the main reason I'm leaving this review is because of the pain and damage after the appointment. I hope the salon takes more care with filing and cuticle work because this should not happen. Ignore the giant sign outside that says "New Ownership, 10% Discount". First of all, they would not honor the discount and said it's over. I suggested they should remove the sign rather than use it to entice customers in. Second, there may be a new owner but other than a coat of paint, nothing has else has changed. Unfortunately, they left me waiting for over 30 minutes and once they started my nails, they left my feet in water for another 25 minutes while they pruned. They were nice enough but I assumed they would apologize or give me a discount. I called ahead for an appointment and they said they could see me in one hour. I got a babysitter and got there on time only to be told they forgot to call me and let me know they somehow overbooked and couldn't get me in for 30-40 MORE minutes. I waited and they finally saw me at 60 minutes after they had given me the appointment!!! . I almost left I was so fed up. The manager, very sweet fun lady, did my nails. She and her husband were very kind & I really wanted to support their new business. I told her I wanted dip because that's what I always get but she convinced me over and over to get builder gel. She said it would last just as long and be just as strong. I'm 1 week out, and my thumb nail is already chipping on the edge and now feel that they totally fooled me to get the gel instead of dip. One of the nails was shorter than the other and she said it was because my nail beds aren't the same. So? I've never had someone say that. Anyway...they charged me $10 for my dip to be removed, $5 for just shaping my nails and $5 for one tip added on top of the full price for "builder gel" manicure. I also need to mention that they never told me these extra charges ahead of time. I didn't even ask for a "special" shape. I said just round the edges a little like oval or almond. What I was charged ended up being more than any nail salon I've gone to in the area, and this wasn't even the dip I wanted. They didn't give me any real discount after wasting my time for an hour and ended up giving me coupons to come back again. I will never go back to this place. read more
