This place has kind of ruined me for sandwiches. I know I should try some of the other sandwiches they have, but I am stuck on this one. This particular spot is a deli sandwich place; they do have some standout choices, but I was craving tuna, so I ordered their Pacific Blue (Tuna Melt). Loved that they toasted the buns; it was good but didn't wow me. They skimped on the cheese and didn't add the jalapeños I requested. Service was incredibly slow, but there was a huge rush-hour crowd, so I'll overlook it. All in all, the theme is cool. Loved that they had vendors and music available the day we went; it gave us an opportunity to have something to do while we waited. I did spot board games, but naturally didn't think we'd need them. The goo ball was overly buttery and definitely had peanut butter. It was good for the first couple of bites but I quickly tossed it afterward once it became too much. If a deli is your thing, give it a try. I'm sure on any other given day they'd be better at delivering a sandwich with everything.

Normally, I don't consider people from St. Louis to be credible deli evaluators, but I was desperate and made the hour drive to Grapevine. We got there at 11:15 and the line was nearly to the door. Within 30 minutes, it was well out into the street. That was a promising sign. The sandwich menu covered the entire wall over the counter. Lots of non-New-York sandwiches like Cubans, gyros, etc, but over in the left corner were the classic Ruebens and pastramis. I went for the latter. A REAL NY deli usually has a few soups like split pea and chicken noodle and matzoh. No soups. Bummer. They had a half dozen sides - 3 kinds of potato salads and a few slaws. I went with the German potato salad. The drink option was spartan - they tossed a styrofoam cup at me and pointed to the soda fountain. The pastrami sandwich was OK for Texas. A SUPER pastrami sandwich on hard rye can get me moaning like Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally" -- only I don't have to fake it. The German potato salad was watery and bland - I should have gone with the mustard potato salad. Turnaround was on the slow side. Napkins = paper towel roll on table. Flimsy plasticware. The overall vibe was affordable utilitarian. I'll give the sandwich a 4, everything else a 3. Next time I'll drive the extra half hour to Cindi's.

I got CHANDLERS CHOICE - turkey, provolone, thick cut bacon, spinach, onions & a delicious house-made ranch on top of their delicious sourdough bread. Perfection! Comes with a yummy ranch pickle. (Believe they added ham to mine by mistake but it was tasty so I didn't mind). We also got THE ORIGINAL - chicken, ham, cheddar, mayo, spinach, tomatoes, pickles on their amazing sourdough bread. Served with an oregano pickle, We split a side of PESTO PASTA SALAD - a small bowl of chilled pasta covered in a basil pesto with tomatoes, kalamata olives & feta. We ended up bringing home with half a sandwich because we were stuffed. We got a house-made sea-salt chocolate chip cookie to eat later because they looked too good just to leave there. They have different types of seating. Mostly 4 tops, a counter with bar seating and plenty of electric outlets, a big comfy couch with coffee table, a large dinner table, & a small outdoor patio. Inside has a couple of TVs. They also have a bookshelf with a few games and a small indoor corner area with some kids toys. You order at counter and they'll bring food to you. 3% Service charge for paying with card. Price on menu is cash price. I look forward to coming back to enjoy more of their food including some of their house made chips (they're made in beef tallow & have several seasoning flavors). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Keep up the great work Sour Boule staff!

My boyfriend loved the chop cheese 5/5 I was not a fan of the chicken Caesar wrap because the texture of the chicken is off. It was tough and chewy and made me lose my appetite completely. Aside from that aspect the actual taste of the Caesar salad was good. 3/5 My daughter had the same issue with the chicken sandwich, she wasn't a fan because of that. The fries are basic, some were crunchy with a soft inside and some were very hard. 2/5 I am not sure we will return as the food is basic for an expensive price. I would suggest they at least offer some type of combo option to include a side and drink.
