Writing my review with this being the 2nd time here! Along with the place being super clean and staff being so patient and nice, The chopped cheese is AMAZING! My husband has got the Philly cheesesteak twice and each time has said "this is the best Philly I've ever had" and he's an avid fan of them. I'm going to work my way to trying other things on the menu... but that chopped cheese is just too good to pass up! Definitely worth the stop as we drive 30 mins to eat here! After seeing Big Guys Bodega pop up here on Yelp we gave it a try and ordered pickup. What was ordered- Chopped cheese on a hoagie with American cheese. No lettuce or tomato. Chicken sandwich Chicken Caesar wrap 3 orders of fries and some sauces. With a 10% tip the total was $58.75. My boyfriend loved the chop cheese 5/5 I was not a fan of the chicken Caesar wrap because the texture of the chicken is off. It was tough and chewy and made me lose my appetite completely. Aside from that aspect the actual taste of the Caesar salad was good. 3/5 My daughter had the same issue with the chicken sandwich, she wasn't a fan because of that. The fries are basic, some were crunchy with a soft inside and some were very hard. 2/5 I am not sure we will return as the food is basic for an expensive price. I would suggest they at least offer some type of combo option to include a side and drink. read more

Hello another taste bud adventure after an insightful word from church. We came to Big Guys Bodega for lunch. The server was polite and friendly and said hey the top 3 you should try Chop Cheese on Hoagie roll, Philly Cheesesteak, and enjoy a refreshing Blue Hawaiian Punch or Lemonade. I've never had a chopped cheese sandwich, but I'm happy I chose this place to experience it. The customer service was great, and the young lady at the front had great recommendations, and I'm happy I followed her advice with the chopped cheese. The first bite, YES!! I can't wait to try some of their other menu items, their panini being one of them. ​I finally got a chance to visit this spot last week, and I was not disappointed--I only wish I'd remembered to come sooner! The recommendation came a year ago when I visited their sister store next door, after a flight; a staff member there told me to check this place out when it opened, and he was absolutely right. ​I was in a rush but decided to take a chance on the chopped cheese after being told it would take about 12 minutes. To my delight, my order (the chopped cheese and fries, plus a great spread recommendation from the helpful employee) was ready in only 6 minutes! ​The sandwich was incredible. The brioche bun was soft and fresh, the meat was seasoned to perfection and cheesy, and the fries were simple - perfectly seasoned, crispy, and hot. We should have know when we arrived at lunch time and the places were empty. And I say places because it's two different ordering counters in the same facility. The people at both counters were attentive. Ambiance is a gas station feel in a free standing restaurant. One side is chicken and rice/gyro bowls and gyros and the other the bodega. It was an expensive lesson to learn. We found the food to be under whelming and over priced. The combination bowl was mostly rice, a handful of lettuce and then some very spicy chicken and gyro meat. The gyro meat was very good but sadly there just wasn't much there. Our teen had the chicken gyro and it was so spicy she couldn't eat it. My husband ordered from the bodega side and ordered a cheese steak. The best part of the sandwich was the brioche bun. But who makes a cheesesteak on a brioche bun? The meat was just ok. The only drink option is $3.50 for the small glass bottles. No fountain soda or even less expensive can/bottles to choose from. Lunch for 3 was $53. Sadly I don't see this business lasting long. read more

I wanted to really enjoy this place. Very nice counter staff. I have two complaints. One, a philly cheesesteak doesn't work on a sweet bread brioche hoagie bun. Two, I asked for no bell peppers. Apparently this means I don't want the onions or mushrooms. Made the philly even more bland. Not much flavor. Basically chopped meat, mayo, and cheese on a brioche bun. I could have stayed home and had a hamburger and saved 12 bucks. By the way, for $12 bucks fries or chips should be included. I can get a philly cheesesteak, fries, and a drink at Burger Box for $12.00. Should have gone to chicken and rice instead. Zero gas station ambience. Strip center blandness. read more

Saw this place the other day and i decided to try it tonight.I got the Ruben along with some fries.The fries were nice and hot and pretty good.Now on to the Ruben.Overall it wasn't bad but some parts of the sandwich was a little chewy.Definitely not the best I've had.It wasn't horrible by any means but it could have been better.I probably wouldn't get the Ruben again but I'll give them another shot. read more

Now listen here.. I ain't never had a chopped cheese in my life nor have I ever been to New York. When I saw this place was close to my house I had to pull up and lord after that first bite that chopped cheese was INHALED.. I'm talm bout INNIT! I ordered it just the way it's served with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, american cheese, and the hoagie bread. In my opinion it's a must try but like I said it's my first time trying a hoagie so use your own judgement. The workers are nice and friendly and the ambiance is immaculate and clean. I placed my order online for pick up I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak and fries. The Philly Cheese on line was priced at 16.50. While waiting for my order I noticed the menu board in the store had the same sandwich for 14.00. I then started to check other menu items in store against what was posted online, they all match up with in store pricing. When my order was brought out I questioned the price difference. I was told the online app charges that price. This is deceptive pricing. There was nothing online that said pricing varies when ordering on line than in store. There was No offer to make this right. Period. I also told the young lady they just lost a good customer and I would be posting about there deceptive pricing online. read more

I am giving 5 stars while they figure everything out, but in reality, my experience was more like a 3.5-4. My wife and I ordered the following: - Double Smash Burger. The brioche bun was great, and the burger had the perfect amount of seasoning and toppings (melted American cheese, grilled onions, mayo). Super flavorful but my issue was the patties themselves. I feel like they could be smashed a bit more to get that crisp that normally comes with a smash burger. Also, I wish there was more meat in general. I'd gladly pay a dollar or two more for a bigger burger. -Single smash burger. Same as the double but less beef obviously. My wife was disappointed because the bun is big, and they add a lot of toppings, so the beef was noticeably absent. - French Fries. Hot and crispy! Just no salt whatsoever. I honestly think they forgot to salt them. We just added our own. Service and ambiance are nice! I am eager to try their Philly steak and other menu items. There are not many great burger places in the area, so they honestly have a great opportunity to improve their smash burger and get success from it. The burger was overall very tasty, better than my recent experiences at twisted root, five guys, and other places nearby. They just need more beef on the burger. Other than that, I am not too happy with the cost of fries and drinks. Fries are $4 and drinks are $3. So if you get a burger, fries, and a drink, you are paying anywhere between $15-$18 bucks. It's just hard to justify that price honestly. If I could get my double smash burger meal for $15 and it had a little more meat, I'd frequent this place. read more

25 minute wait for a cold sub. Service is awful. Not until I stood at the counter and told them I had to get back to work because my lunch is almost over, they started making my sub. Fast, friendly, and helpful. The place was busy but the service was fast. Food tasted great and had large portions. Great place to eat with friends, especially those that eat Halal. Limited seating but not crowded. The restaurant was very clean and had a part of the neighborhood feel to it. I will definitely be coming back. read more
