Late night hunger strikes. And so does the need for drinks and conversations with friends after long days. My friends and I will pop up to the Tail Feathers truck, put in our order then head over to Abbey's for Jamesons and beer. The food sometimes will take a while since it is one guy running the truck who also delivers to the bar you're at (within the area, of course). The food is so good. I always get their spiciest and my friends will venture and try their other options. The wings are packed with flavor. Don't forget their potatoes; that's the best thing about them. Not sure how they cook them, but they're sliced like coins and crispy. Extra ranch please (because I like my chicken and potatoes with my ranch). read more

New resident behind Poag's. Menu readability and design could use some work. They don't list the half-pound boneless option (which is the reason I bothered to write this in the first place... LOVE it) but it may be a better value than the old occupant truck (Taco Heads). They're heavy handed with the spice, and I like it that way. Their "fries" (potato slices,lighly fried) are unique in fort Worth to my knowledge and the best I've had since I tried spicy ketchup at whataburger almost 20 yrs ago. It's a kick in the mouth. Pretty sure they grabbed the wings from the Pizza place next door (which aren't good) and added their own sauce... Also, for reference, "a pound of wings" is 6 drums. Tried Tail Feathers for the first time via Grubhub. Manager was surprised when I showed up to pickup the order at the stated time. Said he would throw the order on and it would be ready in 8 minutes, 20 minutes later wings came out luke-warm. Oddly enough the waitress from the pizza place next door walked over at about the 10 minute marker with the same exact take-out container I was handed... you draw your own conclusion. An extra star as the buffalo sauce has potential with a better wing. read more

I thought it was a mistake that it said open til 2 am but to my pleasant surprise I found one of the best wings with the best sauce in Fort Worth. Holy Shnikes These wings are crazy good! Just the right amount of heat and right amount of crunch. Best part it's cooked! I'm tired of getting wings not fully cooked. I got a pound of bone in and a pound of bone out. Boneless is not breast meat but dark which makes a difference in taste for me. Best wings that I've had around Fort Worth, in my opinion. All the sauces were great and the meat was tender and delicious. Brought some home from work to share with my husband...boneless island heat and bone in sweet spicy bar-b-q. Best we've ever had (including the chains). Boneless was real meat, both white and dark, and the bone in were huge, high level of quality. Sauces were excellent. Overall, top shelf all around. They were parked outside of the Collective Brewing Project. I ordered the Boneless Chicken Bites with the Island Heat (mango habanero). My group and I were blown away about how good this was.
