A no frills luncheonette that knows what they do best & they do it consistently. I'm not a Denville local, but anytime I am in the area & think to pass by Carver's to grab a bite to eat there is almost always a line out the door! In a time when there are so many options for food, any place that people will willingly wait in line for has to be great. I managed to finally arrive at a time that had only a small wait & once inside it was smaller than I imagined - but that's not a bad thing. Limited tables means the servers can spend more time at each table rather than running around tending to too many tables at once. There were a few booths & a few more tables, closely spaced together with different parties. The decor is similar to what you'd find on an old country kitchen with witty sayings. Again, no frills. They're not looking to distract their patrons with aesthetics. Their menu was healthy & had lots to choose from. I went with my old reliable - taylor ham & cheese on a roll & it did not disappoint. They did not skimp on the meat & the cheese was melted well. ALL of their bread is homemade & delicious. This week's special was cornbread & sun-dried tomatoes, we got a side of that & it was very good. Great value for the price & would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast.

This has become one of my favorite brunch places. Great staff, great food ( esp the bacon- usually only eat it here ), and always delicious. I try to only go on weekdays since it's not as crazy busy but sometimes a short wait most of the time. They do not take reservations but plenty of street parking and parking in the lot across the street.

Food was okay, but the service was pretty awful. The young man who took our drink order was very pleasant and nice, but our waitress seemed like a miserable human, not sure if she was having a bad day but based on other low reviews it looks to be a common issue... Food was fine, not life changing brunch food by any means.

Casual, small place with 12 tables and two counter seats. Staff is very friendly and aren't trying to rush you out. Food was delicious! Their pumpkin pancakes on their specials is a must try! You also can pick the number of pancakes you want which I found awesome since sometimes you're really hungry and sometimes you just want one. Their cheesesteak omelet is also very good, cheese was melted just right!

This is a small spot but I do recommend you stop by and try . The breakfast was good with nice portions . The bread is homemade and we bought a loaf to go . The gravy was delicious just wish they gave little more . The grits needed some salt/pepper and I also wished they served with butter . The omelette was delicious and the home fries had amazing crunch and flavor . Coffee is served and refills are asked while eating which is nice . The staff were nice and had no issues overall. I'd return for sure . Thank you for a good experience .

Came here Saturday early afternoon. A friend suggested this spot and after checking this spot via Yelp, I was looking forward to eat here. There was a wait which took about 30 minutes before being seated. The place is not huge but comfortable seatings. Ended up getting the traditional egg and meat breakfast special (2 eggs, seasoned home fries, homemade toast and bacon) with coffee. The whole meal was solid. Server always filled up my coffee cup. If you're in the mood for breakfast, I highly recommend this place. I will be back. * great service * street parking and parking lot * plastic straws available

One of the best breakfast spots in the area! The pancakes are to die for and the staff is great! Definitely recommend trying, you will not be disappointed!

My wife picked up some breakfast sandwiches this morning for us and I am very happy to find a place like this. Hearty amount of pork roll, egg, and cheese and an amazing chipotle spread to go along with it. Bread is fresh cooked which is noticeably an emphasis with the sandwich. She told me there is some seating there so I will definitely check it out in person soon!

Homey, family run breakfast lunch spot. The smell of fresh bread and muffins wafted from the kitchen. Maybe the best pancakes I've ever had.

My fiancé and I decided to have a Sunday morning coffee date and check it out. The shop is nothing short of fun, I feel like I could find something new every day while browsing the selections. The vinyl collection is great and there's plenty to choose from. Big shoutout for the shop having a soundtrack section, that's the first thing I always look for when I'm browsing records. I managed to find a record and a cool poster before I even browsed the cafe menu. The barista was super chill and recommended some of their popular items to try for our first visit. We both opted for tiramisu iced lattes and we were not disappointed. The coffee base was excellent, and the flavoring was very balanced. My fiancé also got a lil' treat, courtesy of me, a mochaccino muffin, which got the thumbs up of approval. We both agreed that the space is cool and exactly the kind of spot we'd prefer to hang out in. Sweet Vinyl will definitely be in our coffee outing rotation going forward.

Their sections are not only labeled by genre, but within it they have the name of every artist available and even 80s, 90s, and 70s sections, which makes browsing so much easier! Every other record store I've been to only has it by genre, and that's if you get lucky! Their selection is also great as I have found vinyls here that other stores didn't have, and weren't even available online. Their prices are also great, much cheaper for a lot of vinyls (though not for all of them). I will most definitely frequent this spot!

The slower service towards the end of the meal may be attributed to it being the middle of the afternoon, between shifts, and a slower period. My dining partner loves this place and had great things to say about the owner, and the support he provided front line workers during the pandemic. Ambiance is casual, with an extensive bar and seating. More parking in the back down the hill, in back of the restaurant.

They weren't very crowded on Saturday afternoon for lunch and we were seated abd tended to quickly. My wife, mom and I all ordered the special soup: corn & shrimp chowder. The cups were small and soup wasn't hot. My mom and wife asked to have theirs heated but I ate mine warm. It was good with lots of whole shrimp, corn and potatoes. Probably the best part of the meal. Mom and I ordered Chilean Sea Bass. Fish was beefy bland and a small piece but it was "ok". Could have been a little flakier but overall it was a bland, pretty fresh piece of fish. The Cole slaw side was tiny, but good. My onion rings were overly oily. My wife had stuffed soul abd didn't like it. She thought it was undercooked but when I tasted it I thought it tasted exactly like canned tuna. Also a small portion. The service was friendly and attentive, but the food was just very disappointing. More than the small platters (I get, it's lunch) we didn't enjoy the fish. I'd expect a seafood market like this to be better. I was tempted to upload pics of what we get at home!!! New England Seafood snobs, I guess.
