A no frills luncheonette that knows what they do best & they do it consistently. I'm not a Denville local, but anytime I am in the area & think to pass by Carver's to grab a bite to eat there is almost always a line out the door! In a time when there are so many options for food, any place that people will willingly wait in line for has to be great. I managed to finally arrive at a time that had only a small wait & once inside it was smaller than I imagined - but that's not a bad thing. Limited tables means the servers can spend more time at each table rather than running around tending to too many tables at once. There were a few booths & a few more tables, closely spaced together with different parties. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is similar to what you'd find on an old country kitchen with witty sayings. Again, no frills. They're not looking to distract their patrons with aesthetics.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their menu was healthy & had lots to choose from. I went with my old reliable - taylor ham & cheese on a roll & it did not disappoint. They did not skimp on the meat & the cheese was melted well. ALL of their bread is homemade & delicious. This week's special was cornbread & sun-dried tomatoes, we got a side of that & it was very good. Great value for the price & would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast.

This has become one of my favorite brunch places. Great staff, great food ( esp the bacon- usually only eat it here ), and always delicious. I try to only go on weekdays since it's not as crazy busy but sometimes a short wait most of the time. They do not take reservations but plenty of street parking and parking in the lot across the street.

Food was okay, but the service was pretty awful. The young man who took our drink order was very pleasant and nice, but our waitress seemed like a miserable human, not sure if she was having a bad day but based on other low reviews it looks to be a common issue... Food was fine, not life changing brunch food by any means.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Casual, small place with 12 tables and two counter seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is very friendly and aren't trying to rush you out. Food was delicious! Their pumpkin pancakes on their specials is a must try! You also can pick the number of pancakes you want which I found awesome since sometimes you're really hungry and sometimes you just want one. Their cheesesteak omelet is also very good, cheese was melted just right!

This is a small spot but I do recommend you stop by and try . The breakfast was good with nice portions . The bread is homemade and we bought a loaf to go . The gravy was delicious just wish they gave little more . The grits needed some salt/pepper and I also wished they served with butter . The omelette was delicious and the home fries had amazing crunch and flavor . Coffee is served and refills are asked while eating which is nice . The staff were nice and had no issues overall. I'd return for sure . Thank you for a good experience .

Came here Saturday early afternoon. A friend suggested this spot and after checking this spot via Yelp, I was looking forward to eat here. There was a wait which took about 30 minutes before being seated. The place is not huge but comfortable seatings. Ended up getting the traditional egg and meat breakfast special (2 eggs, seasoned home fries, homemade toast and bacon) with coffee. The whole meal was solid. Server always filled up my coffee cup. If you're in the mood for breakfast, I highly recommend this place. I will be back. * great service * street parking and parking lot * plastic straws available

One of the best breakfast spots in the area! The pancakes are to die for and the staff is great! Definitely recommend trying, you will not be disappointed!

My wife picked up some breakfast sandwiches this morning for us and I am very happy to find a place like this. Hearty amount of pork roll, egg, and cheese and an amazing chipotle spread to go along with it. Bread is fresh cooked which is noticeably an emphasis with the sandwich. She told me there is some seating there so I will definitely check it out in person soon!

Here's the deal: this is a great little breakfast place off off Main Street. Food was good. Service was very friendly . Peak times this place gets very crowded with minimal space to wait for a table Overall good ol fashion cafe

This has become our new go to breakfast spot! The place is on the small side so there's always a line on the weekends later in the morning but it's worth it! They have good sized portions and huge French toast! My favorite part is they offer a variety of homemade breads for toast and they have a weekly featured bread with different flavors. You can also get chorizo as your choice of breakfast meat. These non traditional offerings sets it apart from other breakfast spots and will keep us going back!

The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for catching up without feeling rushed. My usual order is the avocado toast, and it never disappoints. It's fresh, flavorful, and comes with their breakfast potatoes that are honestly so good--crispy, seasoned perfectly, and the ideal side. Their coffee is also amazing, smooth and rich, and pairs perfectly with anything on the menu. It's the kind of place that works for a slow weekend brunch or a casual meetup with friends where you can sit, talk, and really enjoy the moment.

A place for girlfriends, groups and couples , few singles plus this will surprise . There is a bar tavern next door for a completely different experience . Chai tea nice , huevos rancheros had 4 layers of a crispy tortillas , that was unique. Nice spice and flavor . I might adjust to 3 layers and add more black beans for protein as a more plant based person which I'm sure they can accommodate . I like the serving plate , easier for the server who all wore chocolate collared shirts with logo . Nice attitude . I found this place a step above a diner - a real deal and plenty to explore on the menu.
