    Italian Beef Sandwich

Open late hot dogs, burgers, beefs, and gyros. Well lit and clean with fast service. Place is pretty clutch and the food hits the spot. The beef is huge.

It's your typical divey, greasy burger joint. Menu on wall with pictures. You order at the counter. There is seating but most people were doing carryout. Food was kind of what you'd expect from a place like this. However, it was super pricey for what you get. And the fries were pretty...inedible....so I ended up using a lot of ketchup. Also - you have to ask for anything extra since the only things sitting out by the soda machine are lids, straws and salt/pepper packets. A bit stingy with the napkins even after multiple asks and had to ask for the ketchup, etc.

Came here upon the recommendation of a friend who was a student here in Chicago many years ago! I walked here a little early around 11:45pm so it was not full! It's halfway clean & dingy! I guess works well with the downtown Chicago vibe! This place is located right opposite Loyola University I ordered a #15 special Philly steak sandwich which came with fries & drink for a grand total of $16.74 plus tax The guy who took the order was very helpful and quick! The order was received within 10 to 15 minutes the Sandwich & Fries were fresh & hot!! The taste of the sandwich was NOT spectacular but fair! I have had much better Philly steaks before The sandwich roll was fresh and the meat was cooked well with all the fixings although I felt something was missing not sure what! I hope to be back here again someday soon!

This place been here for a while. Good Chicago dogs, fries and burgers. Staff knows what they are doing so the food comes out fast. Prices are reasonable for Gold Coast. There is a small dinning room with 4-5 tables Overall solid greasy spoon and a staple to our Windy City

Grilled to order! Excellent team is ready to serve the minute you walk in. Got grilled chicken Sammie, steak Sammie, Chicago dog and fried white fish. Favorites were Chicago dog, chicken Sammie and White fish.

Food was pretty good. Service was pretty decent and very nice, and the ambiance was not too flashy but just enough to show what they serve.

Solid dog. Great Italian beef with the sweet hot peppers. That was stupid good. Great little place with a wide menu and fast/simple service. Very clean inside despite the high traffic. Would eat again.

Wanted to try Chicago style hot dogs and Mister J's was close to my hotel. Ordered the 2 Chicago style dogs with fries and a drink for $12. The dogs were tasty, fries hot and atmosphere was interesting with a mix of locals, cops and me. Not personal but my honest experience

Polish sausage, Chicago style, Italian sausage and French fries

We loved walking by this gem in the downtown/Mag Mile area. We were looking for some Chicago Style Hot Dogs and lots of places were closed on Easter Sunday. When we walked up, there was already a local customer waiting outside for the store to be opened up. He told us he has been coming to this place for 30 years. Once the restaurant opened we were greeted with a friendly smile and picked two Chicago favorites. The Polish and Italian sausage. Those Hot Dogs were just simply amazing and the price is very reasonable compared to restaurants in the area. Next time, when you visit Chicago, don't overlook this small locally owned spot that's been open for over 70 years.

The burgers were great, but the staff was amazing! My buddy and I went there awhile ago and they let him run the grill!

Perfect "grunge" food. Love the Dagwood (esp. the perfect bun), the Chicago dog, and the shakes. Who needs Shake Shack?

Reliable place for hot dogs. Cheap deals like two chicago dog specials. Seating and tables pretty clean. Popular with the student crowd.

We happened to already be in the city that day and somehow got lucky finding a reservation close to the time we were already nearby, so we knew we had to take our chance! The whole place is beautiful and has such a cozy, classic Chicago feel. I would absolutely come back, but next time I really want to sit outside because their outdoor patio is gorgeous. The staff was also super friendly and really helpful with recommendations throughout the night. We started with the warm Parker House rolls, which were so soft, fluffy, buttery, and delicious. Then we shared the vodka rigatoni, and the portion was definitely big enough for two people to split. So creamy, comforting, and really good. Of course we had to end with one of their classics, the sticky date cake, and OMG. Soooo good. Warm, rich, sweet, and the perfect way to finish dinner. Definitely worth finally checking off my list, and I'd happily come back again, especially for a patio night!

Smoked Pork Ribs (fall off the bone tender, but kind of dry) 10oz Double Wagyu Cheeseburger (delicious) Spaghetti Bolognese (pretty basic but good) Chicken Pot Pie (flavorful but heavy given the BONE MARROW center) Truffle Mafaldine (simple but so good if you like truffle) Baby Artichoke Gratin (tasty, nothing too special) Warm Parkerhouse Rolls (so soft, warm and truffle honey butter, so good) King Crab California Roll (nothing wrong with this, just couldn't really tell a major difference vs Cali roll ,maybe not worth the $$) Spicy Tuna Roll (fine)

The burger had a lot of toppings, including a sauce and pickled onions and a very good amount of pickles. The Caesar salad honestly was not good, tasted very artificial and I probably would only try their sandwiches or appetizers if I went back. The truffle fries didn't have a strong truffle flavor, but I like the shoe string shape and they come with ketchup and mayo. But overall, a cute place, an easy walk in and a good patio!

What a mistake! Our waiter was definitely on some sort of stimulent drug. He tried to rush us to order then didn't come back for a long time. We place the order and our food took around 45 min to an hour to get to our table. The waiter came to the table right when the food was dropped off before I could even take a bite. He never came back to the table to check on us. I got the steak frites (medium rare) and the steak was cold to the touch and raw inside. It was so gross that I couldn't eat any of it and told the bus boy to take it off my bill when he came to take our plates. He asked me if I wanted it wrapped up as it was completely untouched and I was like no, thanks. The frites were some dehydrated potato shoe string thing that was extremely over salted and inconsistent texture. Some were crispy and some were soggy. You have to buy bread (there are 2 options) at around $15 each. Luckily there are a ton of better restaurants in the area to get a good meal with decent service.
