This is by far my favorite vegan restaurant! My go-to dish is the Satay Lemongrass Tofu Vermicelli, but I substitute the noodles for rice. It's absolutely delicious every time. Every dish I've tried here has been flavorful and fresh, and I've never been disappointed. I only wish this restaurant were closer to my home--it's over an hour away, but it's worth the drive whenever I get the chance to visit. I also appreciate the peaceful atmosphere. The music is kept at a low volume, making it a relaxing place to enjoy a meal and have a conversation. Hands down, the best vegan place around with a mouthwatering selection of menu items. All of which I'm sure are worth the order. The flavors of everything is on point without any detectable MSG and the food comes out relatively fast once it's ordered. Mitasie is one of the not very manny vegan spots in OC. The food is always good and flavorful, and they have a decent menu so it's easy to find something you're in the mood for. I like that there's a mix of comfort food and lighter options depending on what you want. Everything I've tried has been consistent, and the portions are solid. It's also a good place to bring non vegan friends because the food is approachable and actually tastes good. You order at the counter and they bring the food to the table. I sometimes come here on my lunch break when I forget to pack my lunch from home. Their lunch specials are a great deal, one entree plus one drink (water, Thai iced tea, or watermelon juice) and white or brown rice if your entree doesn't have noodles, all for the price of your entree so essentially, the rice and drink are free. Portions are pretty big as well. I like coming here to support them whenever I can, especially when I hear about other vegan restaurants having to close their doors for various reasons. One of the absolute best vegan restaurants I've ever been to. My mom is a vegetarian so we've been to quite a few over the years but this definitely felt like vietnamese home cooking. The proprieters were super friendly and patiently accomdated our large party (12 of us). We quite literally ordered one of everything on the menu. The lunch menu provided your choice of white or brown rice and a drink at a great price The curry reminded me of my mom's (highest possible compliment I could ever give). Second time at Mitasie! This time we had the Spicy bbq "pork" rolls for an appetizer- SO GOOD! And for my entree I had the "chicken" alfredo pasta with some chili paste on the side. It was also very tasty! I've had other vegan pastas from restaurants that were difficult to get through- but this was great. I only wish there was more noodles and less veggies. I love veggies but there were so many, after finishing the pasta there was still a pretty full plate of veggies left. I would say service wasn't quite as good as my first visit. i ordered the pho noodle soup with soy chicken because i wasn't feeling well, and then ordered it again later that week because it was so mind blowing. i appreciate how considerately everything is packaged - the moisture of the bean sprouts is contained w the thai basil and lemon, the cilantro and green onions are separated w the soy protein and pho, and the soup container is bagged to prevent spillage. when i first received my delivery order, the smell of the soup was wafting out of the bag. the broth is so flavorful and mimics the depth of flavor that star anise tends to add, and it's so good that i end up drinking the broth at the end of the meal. i even split the broth and other accoutrement into two portions and then eat the section portion with some other noodle. i need to try this dish in store because it's so comforting in these two orders of pho, i also got the carrot cake and the soy bbq pork roll. the carrot cake is moist and the frosting isn't too dense, and it suited my carrot cake cravings. the bbq pork rolls came w 2 uncut rolls and a bunch of peanut sauce, and the rolls were bursting w filling. both were lovely accompaniments! please try the pho its so good read more

My vegan friends invited me for lunch a couple of years ago and since then I have returned several times and recently had two birthday dinners at the restaurant. It is a small restaurant but gets packed. The service is great. As for the food, I've had so many different dishes but my very favorites are the spicy crispy tofu, the spring rolls with peanut sauce and sushi. Idk how they make their stuff but here is my regular order: Buffalo Wings and Garlic Noodles. Absolutely scrumdillyumptious. I am not sure how they make their ranch dipping sauce but it's thick and goes super well with their buffalo "chimken" as I will call it. The wings are breaded with Panko so they are really crispy. I might not be a vegan but I am a vegan food appreciator. Dare I say, I enjoy these cruelty free wings. Better than Veggie Grill's actually (and I am a fan). The Garlic Noodles are yummmm too. No complaints. They are pretty quick with orders too. I have only sat in the restaurant once. Personally, I think I enjoy them more as a takeout restaurant than a sit-down. Chinese/Vietnamese inspired dishes. We ordered and paid at the counter. We got the shaking soy beef lunch special which was on the limited lunch menu that came with rice and a drink for $13.50. The soy beef is supposed resemble shaking beef but the sauce was fish sauce and vinegar over a bed of salad. It was dry and lacked sauce. I had to ask for extra side of sauce to drench it. Also got tofu eggplant clay pot ($13.50) and soy fish clay pot ($13.50). Both clay pot had distinct flavors that you're able to tell apart. The tofu in each were spongy and chewy. The egg plant dish was stingy with egg plant pieces and they were tiny, almost like baby eggplant. But the soy fish had tons of slices. The sauce was flavorful and peppery with seaweed wrapping that mimics the fish scales. Overall, the food was average but affordable. Each rice bowl cost $2. We did not get served water and they forgot our drink. I had ordered Thai tea with the lunch special. Ended up taking it on the road. read more
